Glad to hear "The Libertine" is shooting now....I'm already very anxious to see it and was so excited when John Malcovich signed him for the lead. Johhny in period dress....can't wait.

Anybody got special plans for "fat Tuesday" and anyone planning on giving up something for lent? My best childhood friend is Catholic and I always gave up whatever she did....to support her. Thankfully, she never gave up fried chicken...I couldn't have handled that One year she gave up fighting with her brother, so I gave up fighting with mine. However, I still fought with HER brother! (He was a monster!)

PixieMagic is tormenting me with the idea of changing our April trip to San Diego to a 4 day, on the cheap WDW trip! Just 'cause she wants to eat at Boma..NOW! That would mean WDW 3 times in one year (April/Oct/Jan) that just seems TOO decadant! Plus, my family will MOCK me. What to do....what to do?

On a side note... there is a special code in the Color wheel...if you noticed a ">" in front of the name, they haven't posted on the current thread. We are tracking so that we can eventually recycle colors of non-faithful people who have no intention of coming back by. This is just a little view into the minds eye of RRBB. She really is very smart. The codes will change, but before we start getting rid of any members we will probably have a poll!!!!!!

Hello All,

Just catching up! Whew! Gone a few days and you guys can chat up a storm!! For my 30th birthday (TODAY!!) DH (the best!) gave me 2 days off of my job (SAHM) and sent me on an overnighter shopping!! Woo hoo! Didn't get whole lot...and most of it for other people, but it sure was nice *not* to be eating with 2 toddlers, or putting them in/out of the car every time I wanted to stop! Had a great time...but back to reality.

Now the hard part...I really tanked on his birthday last year, and need to make it up to him this year. We were traveling to a family wedding, I was in a "bad place" mentally, etc...no excuse, but he really didn't get anything beyond a card for his 30th. Was hoping to make it up to him this year by surprising him with something special for him to do in May at WDW. His bday is in April and I'd give him the info then so he could look forward to it. Was thinking Richard Petty? BUT NOW, our trip may be off!! (BOO HOO!!!) DH is Navy and may be at sea so we may have to cancel and due to scheduling won't be able to reschedule for another time so I may be out of ideas (again!)....

SOOOOOOOO...........that brings me to this creative bunch of folks! What was something special you got or did for a birthday...your own or someone else's? I'm looking for something different that he may not expect. Don't have a huge group of friends nearby (one of the not-so-wonderful side effects of moving all the time) so any party would be pretty low-key, and need something else to make it special. Any ideas? Hope someone can help me out of my present-block!!

Ditto! Just got that tonight when I told someone we were trying to go back in May. "Again? You just went!" Oh well...some folks just don't get it!!

I can't believe there's even a question there. GO, GO, GO!!!! ohanafamily and I made it to WDW 4 times in the last year and a half, plus a cruise and a trip to DL. I don't think you can ever spend to much time at Disney. (And you haven't experienced Disney MOCKING until you've been on the receiving end of it from ohanafamily's family.)

Good morning all.

I see we have a few sickies on the thread. Sending hugs to you all. Haven't had a chance to read the billion pages since I last was on, but wil try to later if baby cooperates.

Am feeling horrible thought-not sick wise. dd had her 4yr old pediatric development assesment yesterday and I thought the doc would tell me to go home, she is doing great and quit wasting his time and my money. NOT. He said she has some autistic tendancies. He didn't Label her but said we need to look into Aspergers Syndrome. In a nutshell it is high functioning autistim. I cried all day yesterday. Of course today is my busiest day of the week. We had appts to go to etc. I'm a wreck. Don't feel like doing anything. This is all I think about. Of course I did research on it till my head hurt. I'm prayin g the doc is wrong. I know it could be worse but I'm just not in that mind set today. Soooooooexcuse me for ranting and don't pay attention to my posts. Who knows what I'll say. And to top it off, dd had night terrors last night. Probably getting bad vibes from me. Will try and catch up on posts

Oh Cheeringmom, my heart is aching for you! I can't even begin to imagine what you and your family must be going through. Your little DD is in my prayers. Please don't even hesitate to come to the TAGLIARCHY and post all you need to inorder to help get through this. The not knowing EXACTLY what you are dealing with is the hardest part, I would think. I jumped on this thread to ask how do you know if you've been tagged so I went to the end and then I saw your post cheering mom and I wanted to send you a hug and please do not worry. You are blessed to have a pediatrician who recognizes the needs of your daughter. There are so many resources out their now for children on the spectrum. My DS was diagnosed PDD at 2. We've had our up and downs but he is doing really well in school, learning to read, learning math. Doing lots of "stuff" any other kid would do but has his issues. If you would like to PM me you can or go over to the disabilities forum. Many of us who have children with some sort of issue post over there. You'll find lots of support.

OK I hope this doesn't sound dumb but how do you know if you've been tagged?

Kadaten. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! This is probably TMI, but on MY 30th birthday, my DS#2 was conceived. And not on purpose! Okay, it was either my birthday or six days later which was our 5th anniversary. I still haven't figure it out.

Okay, yup, that was too much information. But it is nice having two boys which are only 2 years and 2 months apart.

Actually we've moved our trip up to the last week of July. We've been through a lot since the first of the year and the DW and I think the sooner we can escape to the world the better. So as soon as I get my tax refund in I'm booking the 25th through the 31st of July at PO!

I just read through the posts. My heart is aching for you Cheeringmom. I don't know enough, really anything, about autistim to say anything helpful. Wish I lived close enough to you to come right over and give you a big hug. Just know that I will keep you in my prayers and will be thinking about you alot. We all want our children to be perfect as far as their health goes. I remember the picture you posted of her and she is so beautiful. You're a good mom and she is blessed to have you for her mother. Please keep us informed and please DO come here to vent. You need to do that. It does help.

Cheeringmom, OMG, I can only imagine what you are going through. I don't know whether or not this will help, but from your posts it seems that you are a very caring mom. Regardless of whether or not you Dr. is over estimating her tendencies she needs your love and understanding more than ever. I think that you have an abundance of this, and she is quite lucky to have you cheering her on as her mom.

If you are going to make it to WDW, try www.giftsofalifetime.com Jane is very nice and can come up with something. You might ask them to send you a WDW Care Package...Guest of honor badges, stuff from the stores you can't get anywhere else. She puts a commission on everything, but she is very dependable. I have met with her and she can be quite imaginative. As far as other suggestions...I guess a stripper at work is out of the question, a weekend rendezvous at a hotel, even a drive-in movie...maybe give him a day off like he is giving you.

Thank you all for your hugs, prayers and concern. The news totally blew me out of the water. I just thought Lauren was a little anti social. I talked to her speedh theapist yesterday and she doesn't see any AS "symptoms" in Lauren. She thinks Lauren
has a personality where she is uncomfortable in strange settings and around strangers. Hmm isn't that what we are supposed to teach our kids? Been a long night. Am waiting for the OT to come over. Im sure I'll give her an earful and a wet shoulder. Thanks again guys. You are the best!!
