Bichon Barb I meant to reply to this yesterday. Is your family going with you or are you actually ::gasp:: going by yourself?!?!

That would be pretty cool. My other half loves camping. I've only been once in my adult life (with him) and I liked it but need to do it a few more times to get comfortable. And we didn't have one of those fancy mobile-homes-with-a-steering-wheel...no, we went tent camping!!! ::yes:: How rugged am I??? :teeth:

We've always wanted to do Ft. Wilderness so maybe we can get together when you come down. Oh wait...is that the "official" TAGLIARCHY DIS meet? I'm so confused... (what else is new, right?)

Good morning and,
if I may,
a little venting to start my day.

(Sorry, this ended up being way tooo long).

The Story of Laundry in My House
By llebrekniT

DH is NOT allowed to do laundry.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_2_91.gif' border=0></a> It is strictly forbodden. Why?, you may be wondering. I'll tell you why. After giving birth to baby Daniel<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_1v.gif' border=0></a>, DH thought he would take a week off from work to bond with baby and help the new mama. He did laundry one day. He thought he would brighten up the colors a bit with a touch of bleach.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_11_1.gif' border=0></a> I still shudder when I think about what I saw when I opened the dryer that day.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10_1_17.gif' border=0></a>

He has no idea what he is doing in there<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_6_2v.gif' border=0></a> and will not listen to my instructions. He has never been able to fold.

Since then, he is not allowed to anything more than drop off dirty clothes and retrieve an item or two from the dryer, and he can only do the retrieving part if I cannot possibly retrieve for him.

Last night he asked permission to wash his favorite shirt so it would be clean for today. I assured him I would make sure it got in the laundry first thing this morning. He insisted he could do this and asked for step-by-step instructions.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_2_49.gif' border=0></a> I was drying Holly's hair and Ella wanted attention, so in a weak moment, I gave in.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_14_4.gif' border=0></a>

A little later he wanted to dry his shirt! I firmly said "NO", in my best "I mean it" tone.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4_3_3.gif' border=0></a> There was a load in the dryer at the time that I didn't want to deal with folding yet and I planned to give them a de-wrinkling tumble in the morning before they came out. I assured him, again, that I would do it in the morning. He walked away in defeat.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_9_8.gif' border=0></a>

Well, this morning while I was taking Holly to school, he not only went into the laundry room, took the clothes out of the dryer and put his shirt in, he also WASHED a load of his own clothes!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_115.gif' border=0></a> Can you believe the nerve of this guy?!? He got it all wrong of course.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_13_3.gif' border=0></a> His work clothes are very dirty and he #1- didn't put enough soap, #2 - set the size of load too big, way too much water #3 - used cold water and #4 had it on "very gentle" cycle.

On top of that, he left a note on the washer that said "Look at me - Super Dan!" and drew his cartoon hero figure that he always draws ever since High School to represent himself.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_204.gif' border=0></a>

I stood there for a moment, very exasperated with my mate.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_13_4.gif' border=0></a> Then I corrected all the mistakes he had made and walked out.

I am now contemplating how I want to handle my response to this.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_12_6.gif' border=0></a> It needs to be calculated and precise in order to put an end to this before it goes any further.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_9_132.gif' border=0></a> He must not do laundry again!

Suggestions?<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_12_3.gif' border=0></a>

cadburysmom congrats on the 500th post!!! Such a milestone and you shared it with us! ::sniff sniff::

AZKathy glad you finally heard something and that it sounds like good news, but I hate that you had to go through so much stress to get to that point. :(

llebrekniT, I thought you of all people would understand what's going on here. Your husband is obviously using this whole "Laundry Idiot" persona so that he will never have to do laundry for the rest of his life. ::yes::

I know this because I tried the same thing, only it didn't quite work out for me. I've tried to put other things in front of the "Idiot" but that hasn't worked either, so I guess I'm just a plain "Idiot." (Wait, that didn't come out right... :scratchin ).

llebrekniT, I LOVE MY BROTHER.....SUPER DAN!!!...Just remember, I lived with him for 17 years but I had no choice....You chose him!!!  :rotfl: :rotfl:

AZKathy does all this mean that you are back to square 1 with no pain relief in sight??? PD for you..

Cheeringmomthanks for the breakfast idea.. I am in the kitchen making the crepes now.. I have strawberry, blueberry and raspberry filling , and of course the MOST FAMOUS TAGLIARCHY Chocolate crepes with chocolate chips and whipped cream and chocolate prinkles.. better than the chocolate crepes at Epcot..

cadburysmom congrats on the 500th post. I am sending you a special box of Cadbury, made in the UK, chocolate to celebrate. :teeth:

HuggaBaloo We tent camp all of the time..As long as you have a good mattress pad, it's comfy..A few years back, on the annual 2 week summer vacation at WDW, We have camped at Ft Wilderness.. thought it would be fun..It really is a very deluxe campground. besides I hate to waste points on a weekend. .however, it was August and 500 degrees , so we opted for air con then next summer...

llebrekniT DH is absolutely forbidden to even look at the laundry/ washer/dryer.. EVER.! I started doing his laundry months before we got married...
 He overloads the machine, puts in 1/2 the amount of soap/ put everything together, jeans, nice clothes, lite and darks etc..turns the washer onto industrial clean and then leaves the clothes in the washer for hours to get really nice and wrinkled, then he oputs them into the dryer for hours and leaves them in there until the next time someone does laundry..

Now the only time he does laundry when he wants to fight about something.. Knows that is the fastest way to get my attention real quick..Drives me NUTS.. Okay I am done ranting.. back to the kitchen for me.. BTW I am making chocolate chip brownies later today.. stop over for some in the afternoon..:wave2:

Goodmorning TAGLIKINS. I'll have some of those crepes Cheeringmom just don't ask ME to make them...we'd all be sorry ;)

llebrekniT sorry I can't offer any suggestings on the husband training....where's TiggersPal when we need her? She has my BIL pretty well trained in the household responsibilities catagory. He is still a little dangerous in the grocery store however. BTW, TiggersPal has started giving horse back riding lessons, that's why we haven't seen her here much anymore, she's at the stable a lot (has three clients now I believe) as well as her regular job.

I've got 4 days left to decide if my April vacation is Calif. or Florida.
Yesterday I was leaning way towards Orlando....partially since on my Nov trip there last year we lost a day to rain and we could do a 'makegood' (broadcasting term) day at Epcot/MGM with the one day I have left on my park hopper. Plus the FL SeaWorld is better. This morning, however, I was imagining strolling around Coronado Island, hanging out on the peir in San Diego......stuff like that. The California option would be a bit more relaxing. We'd be driving there, hence no airport hassles. With the way gas prices keep going up (over $2 a gallon here!) it doesn't make California a less expensive option. As a matter of fact the cost would be about the same, so it's not part of the deliberation.

OK, done rambling....time to hit the shower. Have a great day everyone and maybe I'll be able to sneak in at lunchtime and check on you kids!

How can you tell you addicted to WDW. Well there is a chance I may be layed off June 30th. We;ll see. After the initial shock the first things I thought of was "Oh man I hope we can still go to Florida!"

s&k'smom Of courase you can still go to WDW... there are many ways to enjoy things on a budget...

ibouncetoo really is a tough choice on the CA or FLA >>>"cause of where you live, you have a choice.. Those of us that are in the middle of the US have a different perspective.. If you are at San Diego, there is the zoo, desert, LEGOLAND, ocean, nut of courseyou lov in a desert.. Hmm at WDW , AKL, MGM, Universal, Sea World, Busch Gardens..hard decision.

He has never been able to fold.
Mine either, what's up with that. I have tried to teach him, I swear (can I do that) *&(^%$#@! you can't teach an old dog who's momma did everything for him.

s&k's mom
I know my DS is addicted to WDW. He said to me last night, mom when we go to Disney next time (we have no plans yet.........shirk and shreek at that) I want to ride the bumper cars (Indy 500 Race cars) first. He's 4 (almost 5), do you think he's addicted?

RRBB when you delete the vpsecure web page, can you add a link to the new web page? You know, the one that says this page has changed, you will be redirected in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and if not, click here?

aahh llebrekniT just shoot me now. But he did TRY to help you out. My recommendation is to give him a big hug and kiss and thank him for trying to help but remind him that under no circumstances is he allowed in the laundry room again. I love his cartoon <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/905.gif' border=0></a>

Who is geared up for SURVIVOR tonight?
Dick Hatch, boy that's funny, is going to do something that someone threatens a lawsuit about tonight.

hahahahahah good one Lewski709 but waht about the lawsuit???

Speaking of addicting our children to WDW my 2 1/2 year old DD likes to watch the promotional videos you can get and if I'm channel surfing I have to stop when we get to the Disney Channels. She can almost hum the Mickey Mouse club theme! As for my son well let's just say he's in training.

i dunno, i imagine it has to do with Dick showing or promenading with his magic wand? you know how he likes to get nekkid. a ploy for CBS to have people watch too. Now, Rick there's your cue.

llebrekniT, I have a theory. I think our DHs screw these tasks up on purpose so that they don't have to do them anymore. In the rare cases when Rob does laundry, he always overloads the machine.

cadburysmom, a glass of wine always helps me think clearly. :teeth: ;) OP = original post

HuggaBaloo, we are talking about doing a camping trip at Fort Wilderness in mid to late August (disneyluvers are you going then too???). If Rob can't take that much time away from the office, or if gas gets really expensive this summer, our back up plan is to go to Cape Cod instead. I think we'll be lucky to get 10 miles to the gallon while towing with the new truck. :( As far as October goes, if I could find a trip buddy or two, I would definitely consider flying down for Columbus weekend for a Tag Meet. Like I said before, I think it would be fun to tell friends and family that I'm going to WDW world with a bunch of  's that I met on the internet and watch their faces. :p

As far as camping goes, with like to rough it comfortably. Our new trailer is 25 feet long, has a slide out bed which makes it more like 30 feet, it has an over, microwave, bathroom, CD player, air conditioning, heat, fridge and freezer. We did the tenting thing before the kids arrived. It always rained when we tented it. Yuk. When the boys were 2 and 4, we bought a pop up camper and had a ball with that for five years. But I wanted a bathroom, so we traded it in for the trailer last July.

Okay, let's plan our Tag Meet.

So let's say we all get there by Saturday afternoon. All of us who don't have families with us -- where do you want to stay? Should we stay at the Yacht and Beach Club with RRBB and ohanafamily? (That is where they are staying, right?) Or do you want to save some money and stay at Port Orleans FQ? If we stay at POFQ, we can put two to a room, and I can still afford it. ::yes::

So anyway, what do we do the first night? DD? Where do you want to go for dinner? Portobello Yacht Club? We can sit outside. Bongo's? Other? Then we could start the trip off with a bang and head over to PI. :Pinkbounc But we can't stay out too long, cause we'll have a long day on Sunday. :hyper:

Please give me your thoughts. HB, are you staying on site with us?
