Mouseturtle - oh, OK - gotcha! What room category do you have booked now? If it is garden or lagoon view, then an $84/nt. increase might be worth it. If you are in TPV, you may rather have the view and skip CL.

If there are more than two of you in the room, that makes it $28/person, or less, and the convenience of breakfast alone is worth it!:thumbsup2 On the other hand, with such a short trip, you may not spend much time in the room - in which case, paying extra might be a waste.

Good luck with your decision! Getting close.:goodvibes

Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm

I recognize this is a good problem to have haha.

Hello GF Lovers, popping in from the Poly thread to ask a favor :flower3:

If you are going to the GF in the near future and are concerned about the monorail and transportation issues and you have not already done so, please send a e-mail to guest relations about your concerns.

I sent an e-mail two weeks ago and got a call back within 48 hours. The CM stated that this issue has incited the most complaints they have ever received on any issue so please, keep the e-mails with your concerns coming!! :worship:

If you are leaving in two days, two weeks or two months, please take a minute to send a short e-mail with your concerns!

wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

Thanks for the heads up on this!! I just sent my email and encourage others to sign the petition, I mean voice your concern via email.

I am new to the GF and we are trying it for a few days in January without kids. I am really excited about it!

Comparing outer building lagoon vs. theme park view. Is it worth the extra?

How are the fireworks views?

Thanks Jungle Cruiser. Also, I sent an e-mail to the GF as suggested by a previous poster. Not one response yet. I hope they fix the problem for the holidays:goodvibes

Jungle Cruiser - If you meant me, thanks! I have tons of photos, but have been lazy and let KC Mike shoulder the burden.

Mouseturtle - haha, yes, a very good problem to have.

nonzerosum - lol about the petition. I'm glad so many guests are making their feelings known.

discorsner - Welcome!:goodvibes Congrats on booking your first GF stay.

We have been upgraded to lagoon view, and to be honest, didn't feel it was worth the difference. Nice views, but the garden view rooms have such great views that we didn't feel it merited the cost increase.

Theme park view rooms are special. You should have a great view of the fireworks. Whether it is worth the cost to upgrade is a personal choice. For us, we would choose SL CL over TPV, if available, simply because we've had TPV and can find many spots around the resort to view the fireworks. No little kids in the family to put down early, so for us, the amenities of club level outweigh the view of the MK.

For a first trip, I would say TPV is worth the extra, if it doesn't put a crimp in other vacation plans. If spending the extra on the room doesn't cut out good dinners or a special tour you've been hoping for, then I say go for it!:thumbsup2

Good luck, and enjoy your planning.:sunny:

Yes!!!!!! :cloud9: And lots of prayers for your health (and lulu'smom too)

Wanted to pop in and say a quick hello to all my fellow Grand lovers :goodvibes We won't be at GF for quite some time....probably not until 2013, DD still holding onto BC, but I am enjoying the pics :worship:

mouseturtle I LOVE LOVE LOVE SL. It is worth it IMO. But it all depends on your budget....Any room will be great :goodvibes

Does anyone who was just there know if they are still doing the movies at night?? We were there last November and were told they quit doing them the end of October and my kids were bummed. We go back Nov 20 (CAN'T WAIT) and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will have them.

Thanks!!

Thanks k&a&c`s mom and lulu`s mom for your responses regarding the private dining from Citricos and Narcoosee`s. That just sounds too good to be true. You can dine in the privacy of your own room and save on gratuities!

We were there a couple of weeks ago and they are still doing movies at night. They have however changed the location from the beach to the pool.

Jungle Cruiser - Love the photo - yes, I would love to be there right now.:goodvibes

midge3426 - thanks for the photos, they all look great.:thumbsup2

pas130 - :wave2:

mssmith1026 - so close!:cool1::cool1:

Trinityloo - you are welcome! I would check with PD when you arrive, just to be sure there haven't been any changes - they love to make changes, as we all know.;)

Ooooooh! Aaaaaah! Yes!!!! Me want to be there! NOW! :cloud9:

Oh, mouseturtle~I LOVE both CLs at the GRAND! YES, any room will be great! ::yes:: Happy planning!

Yes!!! And we will be there in 4 days!!!

YES! Happy VACATION! HAVE A GRAND TIME!!!! :yay:

Jungle Cruiser you rock. Love that shot^^^^
My friend JUNGLECRUISER does ROCK but yours are FAB, too!!! Don't ever forget that, KCMike!

You are very welcome!
And another thing. You need to order the whole meal from the same restaurant, not an appetizer from one and an entree from the other.
At least, that's what we were told and that's what we've always done with private dining. So when you arrive, go pick up the menus at all of the restaurants (except VA's) and have fun!(If you are staying CL, they should have menus for you.) :woohoo:

Now, with all changes in the dining plans in 2012, I do not know if they are going to include gratuities with in-room dining. You need to see if they do on the wdw website. Hopefully they still do. Seems that I read they are still included. :worship:

It is so nice to have your meal in the comfort of your room, especially at the GRAND. And the GF has the BEST ROOM SERVICE ON PROPERTY. Hands down! Their private dining cannot be matched by any other! :thumbsup2

Yes, you never know when they will decide to change things, but either way, the fact that you can order off the menu for your room from a Signature restaurant and pay with dining credits is a great bonus. We stayed at AKL 2 years ago and you were able to order from Jiko for PD but they didn't accept dining credits and they added a surcharge of I think it was 20%! Thanks again Lulu's Mom!
