I love this thread!!! Thanks CR Resort Fan 4 Life for recommending it!!!

We're trying the CR for the first time this summer. I'm so excited! We have a tower MK view room booked and ADRs for breakfast and dinner at Chef Mickey's, as well as dinner at California Grill.

The pictures on this thread are amazing! I can't wait for August!

Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I am going to stay at CR for the first time this fall. I'm looking forward to the stay. We always eat at Chef Mickey's every year for dinner & love the atmosphere of the resort. Also, being so close to MK will be amazing! I've got to find some time to go back & read this thread from beginning to end as I'm sure there are some great tips & lots of information

As the others have said, Chef Mickey's is nearly impossible to get into without an ADR. And they only serve breakfast and dinner; no lunch, unfortunately.

The only time Chef Mickey's have ever served lunch is during the free dinning period.

Right now you have the Tempo Grab and Go on the 4th floor or the Sand Bar by the pool. Chef Mickey's Express is slated to open later this fall where the Concourse Steak House is currently.

I believe it was posted on the old CR FAQ thread that the Sand Bar is not selling the mugs, so thought you should know that ahead of time. Back in January 2000 when the Food & Fun Center was closed for a minor renovation the Sand Bar was selling the mugs, however for whatever their reasons are this time they choose not to sell them.

Unfortunately, Grab & Go is not selling mugs. Refillable mugs will not be available at the Contemporary until Chef Mickey's Express opens in August.

We're on the Deluxe in April. I have been trying for 4 months (prior to the changeover to Deluxe) to find out what they are going to do about the mugs... I will let you know in April if I don't find out anything before then.

Hello! We will be staying at the Contemporary, Tower Bay lake View!! May17-22, and heard that the Concourse would be closing, when is the new restaurant opening?? We will be doing Chef Mickey's for Breakfast one morning, but am looking for dinner for another night! We've done Chef Mickey's many many times for dinner, and want to try something different. We are very thrilled to be staying there after 13+ trips of only staying at Moderates and Values!

There's the California Grill upstairs which is a long term favorite of mine. Also Citricos over at the Grand Floridian is quite good.

The Wave Restaurant (new Table Service) was originally to open in April, but I haven't heard a new opening date in a while. Chef Mickey Express will replace the Concourse Steak House and will open in the fall.

The Concourse Steakhouse will either be closing May 10th which is stated on Disboards, or it might be closing June 1st which is what others have been saying. However that new closing date has not been announced, so guess we got to wait for someone to say it has officially closed.

The initial plan was that Concourse Steakhouse would close on May 10 and The Wave would open on May 11. There have been "rumors" that the opening of The Wave may be delayed until sometimes in June. I haven't seen any info where Disney is accepting ADR's for The Wave yet. There's also been "rumors" that Disney has changed the menu for The Wave. Initially The Wave was to feature an asian menu but if the rumors are correct, the new restaurant's menu will be very similiar to Concourse Steakhouse.
