If you plan to use the CR flight check in counter, make sure you check the operating hours. I thought they were only open in the morning (until 1 pm).
When I have walked past there it said the hours you can check-in for your flight is from 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Of course that only matters if your flying an Airline that is associated with Disney's Magical Express, so you can get your boarding passes and getting your checked bags taged during those hours. If your flying an airline that is not associated with Magic Express you can still use it for your return trip to Orlando International Airport, you just can't get your boarding pass or your bags tagged.

We are booking our room for Feb 09 at the CR this weekend. We would be booking the whole package, tickets and dining, but the CM's probably won't open that until at least May 08. We will be bringing our 4 yr old DD and 15 mo. old DD at that time. We just stayed at the CR Feb 6-10, 08, and loved it! We had a Bay Lake View. Since we didn't bring our baby, we were able to stay out late at the Pirate and Princess Party and watch Wishes. We probably will not be able to do that next year w/ a 1 yr old. That is why I am wondering if it is worth it to pay for the upgrade to an MK view?

I think the Magic Kingdom view is the best possible view in all of WDW, so if you can afford it then I say you should go for it. Now this view can sell out pretty fast so the 1st chance you have of making your reservations you should go for it. Also not sure if you saw the 1st page of this thread, but I had posted a picture from the Magic Kingdom view I had. So you could see what the view would look like.

The pictures look amazing! Do you think it would be booked for next Feb already?

I would think for something that is 1 year from now there should be no problem getting a reservation. Then again since the Contemporary get's a lot of reservations for conventions it could also sell out very fast. So like I said before when you know you can make reservations do it ASAP so you will get what you want. In the mean time you could always go on the WDW website, put the dates you want to go and see what comes up if it will make you feel better.

Hey all! We booked an MK view room for June. Can't wait to sit on the balcony w/some bubbly and watch the fireworks!

Do they pipe the Wishes music into the TV's by any chance????

They used to have in on Channel 20 or 22? But the last I heard they were not playing it anymore. I have no idea why they stopped.

The last time I remember having the music piped on the TV's was in August 2006 and I believe it was channel 19. However when I stayed there in December 2006 they were no longer doing that, so it was sometime between those months when it stopped.

What a shame! I hate that Disney seems to be taking away all those special little touches that used to make it so special (remember the sweet bedtime stories they used to run each night?). :sad2:

Hmmm...that is too bad. I guess it's a ploy to keep people out of their hotel rooms and in the parks to watch the fireworks.

We'll just load the CD onto DH's laptop and cue it up at the right time! :-)

I don't remember the bedtime stories--what were they like?

CD? Is there a Wishes CD available? Please tell me where I can get it! We plan to do some serious balcony-watching in September!:cloud9:

There was a channel on the TV where at nighttime, they literally "read" a Disney storybook. The illustrations weren't cartoons, just pictures from the books. They were very sweet, and a lot of people were really upset when they discontinued them.

What a shame! That sounds marvellous. I'm sorry I missed it.

musicmom3: "Is there a Wishes CD available?"

I believe I saw the CD (or a DVD) of Wishes at MouseGear at EPCOT. If it is there, it has to be somewhere in the MK. (It may have been a CD of all the fireworks music.)

I think that I saw the Wishes CD being sold in various stores all around WDW that sell CD's and DVD's.

could someone please explain the difference between the garden wing STD view and the garden wing, garden view. Aside from the obvious. I can't imagine the std view is all that bad.

also, in the garden wing, I remember the rooms that face the pools and that area. are there also rooms behind that, that would face the parking lot, I guess? Is that the std view?

I'm just thrilled to be at the CR but I can't help researching everything to death.

***one last thing - in the garden wing, do you have to REQUEST a refrigerator?

Thanks very much:flower3:

In the garden wing, some standard view rooms face the parking lot (which looks toward the monorail line). I suppose some pool view rooms would be opposite the parking lot rooms but by and large, the parking lot view rooms are on the western part of the garden wing. If you go to the first post, you'll see a resort map.

The garden wing room we booked already had a refrigerator in it. It is standard. If it is missing, you can request it and they will bring you one.

Have fun researching.

I am trying to decide where to eat when we arrive Aug 15th..You have listed on the 1st page 2 different dates when the Concourse Steakhouse is closing..

The Concourse Steak House will be closing June 1, 2008. In its place will be Chef Mickey Express

April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations

I am hoping the April closing will be correct...I would really like the new CS for lunch and a place to refill our mugs..we are on the deluxe dining. If that CS is not opened yet where do you fill them at the CR...? ;)

To be honest, nobody knows the exact dates yet. I listed both as both dates have been published. As far as the mugs, I have been trying for MONTHS to find out what they are going to do for those on the DxDDP. I, myself, will be on the Deluxe too and have tried to no avail to get an answer. I promise I will post here when I do find out. When are your dates in April? We don't arrive until April 26th. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
