LOL- yeah I see a little resemblence...maybe its the hair style --Dunno:lmao:

Sounds like you have a awsome trip planned aswell!! And Triplets WOW!! how old are they?

I was just wondering when Chef Mickey's Express opens up later this year, do you think they will have those kiosks like they have at Captin Cook's in the Polynesian where you order all your main food items? My thinking is since Captin Cook's went threw that major renovation would that be something they are willing to try at Chef Mickey's Express, since it would be a brand new location.

Sure hope so, those Kiosks/computer screen ordering were great and loads of fun! I would think that Mickey's Express would go that route if Capt Cook's just did.

You know, though ... I didn't really see the point of them. You place your order on the screen, then you have to re-order everything at the cash register anyway. :confused3 But I bet they *will* put them in at CM Express.

Does anyone know what the menu will be like for the "wave" TS resturant that is due to open in April 08 (hope I read that right)-- I can start making my ADRS on Feb 25th and dont know if I should add this one to my list.

They aren't making ADR's there yet. It's supposed to be Pan-Asian cuisine. If I find out any more info, I will post it.

I don't see it like that. At Captin Cook's the reason you showed the Cast Member the reciept from the ordering screen is so they could put in what you ordered and the Cast Member would give you a pager with a number and the number on that is sent to the kitchen once you paid, so when the food was ready they put it in and you pick it up. So this way you don't need to stand at the cash register with the food and risk it getting cold, if there was a long line or some guests having problems figuring out how the DDP works.

Well, glad it worked for you. :) It must've tested well or Disney probably wouldn't have gone ahead with it. However, we aren't fans. We found it redundant. :confused3

Hi to all you CR Fans! We just returned from our very first trip to the world and stayed at Pop Century. Although we loved the resort, transportation drove us crazy! For our next trip (hopefully 2010 :) ) we are looking at staying at the Contemporary because of the monorail and boat services that are offered. In your opinions is it worth paying the deluxe prices for diff. forms of transportation to the parks? Pop buses were always extremely full and we were constantly waiting everywhere we went. Is this going to be the same at every resort? Maybe we were expecting too much. I'm just not sure. Thanks everyone!

We went once before and stayed in Downtown Disney and had a rental car. We felt it took forever to get anywhere, so for our next trip (in June) we are staying at the Contemporary so that we won't run into that issue again. Personally, *I* think it's worth the money. It also depends on if you have young kids and/or if you plan on going back to the room in the middle of the day.

I haven't been to Captain Cook's, but at Taste Pilot in DCA they have something similar. THey have a kiosk with a screen where you order, but you pay with a credit card. I'm not sure if you could pay with a room key or DDP, if they had it, but it seems like they could be programmed to at least take a room key. Then you just go up and wait for your food. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, and there was another step.) It seems like the left hand could talk to the right hand and they could get that at WDW. (Although, with Disney there isn't always a lot of talking. )

Like I said before at Captin Cook's you don't actually pay at the touch screen, you pay at the cash. I think they do it like that because you can purchase the extra items they sell in the fridge like Sushi, which is not an option on the touch screen machine. Plus if you were to order drinks in the paper cups or a Dole Whip, those cups are also given to you at the cash register by the Cast Member.

Added a bunch of new info and map for the 14th floor to post #17

OMG...this is the best. We will be leaving for WDW on March 5th. Going to Assp for 5 nights for cheerleading and then moving to CR for 3. I have not stayed there since I was a kid and my husband has never stayed. I was finally able to move from the garden wing to a theme park view after calling almost everyday for 6 weeks. This was a surprise for my husband!!!

Congragulations and this is a great example that if you keep calling everyday you will eventually get the type of room you want.

Hey, CR veterans, is it really necessary to make reservations at Chef Mickey's for the occasional breakfast or lunch? I'm wondering if it's possible to grab a decent meal on a whim without leaving the resort. Any pointers would be appreciated.

I can't vouch for lunch, but breakfast would be really tough on a walk-up basis.

I was in disney last November for a week and I could not get a reservation for any meal at Chef Mickey's..even with constant phone calls to check for a cancellation...and it wasn't a busy time of year. My 180 day mark was yesterday and I made sure to make all my reservations for my trip in August..;)

As the others have said, Chef Mickey's is nearly impossible to get into without an ADR. And they only serve breakfast and dinner; no lunch, unfortunately.

Thanks for straightening me out, guys. I'm not crazy about having all my meals scheduled ahead of time but it sounds like I'd better get used to it.
