The Murphy's are LIVE from the Beach Club!! August 4-11 Come join us!!! :)

They should give you a towel when you go through the gate at the pool. Then you should give back the towel when you go through the gate to leave the pool.

As Rex from Toy Story says "I don't like confrontation!". This is how I am feeling reading about the chair issues at BC. I hope we don't run into such rude donkeys when we are there in a few weeks.

On another note! I was looking at another Live thread and saw that there were different toiletries in CR (grapefruit scented) and Poly (the "blue" h2O). Just wondering which they have at the BC?

If you are having a problem and the CM won't help, automatically ask to speak to the manager. Be sure to get the CM's name so the manager knows who "helped" you and if necessary they can retrain the CM to provide proper assistance.

The other thing you can do is to loudly inform the people saving seats that it's against the rules and that you'll be more than happy to get the manager over there to enforce the pool policy. If the CM's are not making people stop saving chairs they sure as heck ain't gonna make YOU get up from one you're sitting in.

I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles. It sounds like it's open season for rude people at WDW.

Here are some dancing bananas to perk you up.:banana::banana:

That's a bummer about the chair situation. Has the lounge gotten better at least?? Hope you enjoy the rest of your day:)

I talked to a CM. he said yes it's been a problem and a major controversy. He said people come down at 10:00, save chairs, then come back at 1:00. I asked what we should do and he said it was up to me if I want to sit in a chair someone has placed a towel in. He offered no assistance and basically threw me back into the lions den.

That is SO not okay! I'd ask for his supervisor, nicely of course!

The pool chair situation is ridiculous. These people need to give it up. Honestly, I would keep going up the chain of command over this until you are satisfied with the outcome. They need to be more aware of this than they already are.
You are on your vacation and paid a pretty penny for it, so why should you be stressed and miserable over rude people at the pool. You have every right to a chair as they do. Sorry, on my soapbox here a bit. :mic:

I hope you are able to get some nice outcome on that situation. Just don't let this ruin your holiday. I hope soon to see a report where the pool thing has been resolved and you are like this :beach:

Can't wait to read more of your adventures! Have fun!! :goodvibes

Well, the first family I had a run in with (the husband that said I was trying to "steal" there chairs and I should go "steal someone else's") , his wife and kids sat at the umbrella table all morning, the kids were playing iPods and didn't even have bathing suits on, then around lunch time they left. They never sat in the saved chairs ONE TIME! Finally the wife came back around 1:00 and took the towels and allowed people to sit there. How can someone do something like this??? It is mind boggling to me.

You are truly a SAINT...not so sure I would have been as nice and I'm a pretty easy going person. For the money we all spend on vacations, it really shouldn't be that difficult. I sure hope you don't have any more issues at SAB with chair hogging the rest of your trip.

I think I'm pretty nice, but I do have a breaking point where I feel like telling somebody off, I mean I would never want to take a chair away from anyone, its not like they were swimming or walking around and I took it. I still can't get over the fact they saved 4 chairs for over 4 hours and never sat in them. :rolleyes2

Well the lightning brought us back to the room, we are going to wait a bit before walking over to Epcot.

Here are some pictures:

the boys yesterday at Sci Fi for lunch:

We all had burgers and fries, also got onion rings and milkshakes. Everything was AMAZING!!!! So yummy, and such a fun atmosphere. My Mom loved the old music and old movies. :goodvibes She said when she was a teenager she went to the drive-in every saturday. :)

Here is the view from our balcony:

Erika, just posting to say that I am LOVING your report. Your view of SSE made me gasp out loud! I would love that! And the gifts were incredible. I saw the card for your mom - were there Mickey earrings or something in the flowers? Maybe I didn't look hard enough. LOL

We didn't experience anything like that with chair hogging in May, but it was much less crowded. So sorry you are dealing with that. I think that the CMs should be clearing unoccupied lounge chairs regularly, and that the CM should have assisted you.

That was actually funny because we searched and searched through those flowers looking and looking for the surprise and finally found it! It was a small Mickey charm that you could put on a necklace or charm bracelet. Cute :goodvibes

Oh Tigr you are making me sooooo miss the Beach Club! It's my FAV!
We'll be at WDW in a couple weeks but doing a split stay between AKL CL and VWL. I love both of them too (and AKL is DS's FAV) but I will still be missing those lovely balconies and the walk to Epcot!
Glad you're having fun...we saw a ton of "saved" chairs last time we were there. Luckily it was just DH & I for F&W so we didn't mind as much as we didn't spend a lot of time at SAB...:goodvibes

We saw the BEST production of Beauty and the Beast we have seen in years! The Belle was good and the Gaston was GREAT!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 He was perfect, I felt like the movie character had come to life right before my eyes.

Erika, sorry you had such a tough time with the chairs at SAB today, that is totally a downer and sooo frustrating  Your pics are great! I haven't been the Beauty and the Beast show in years, not sure why we always seem to miss it. It will be a must do for DD and I as I truly love that show! I was in the midst of dinner and kid chaos when you tweeted GG Slushie anyone, and I was raising my hand and yelling me, me, me :lmao:

Did the boys enjoy Agent P? My kids cant wait to do it!

Hope you have a great night!

Yes they did! There mission was in china and Mexico. They are excited to try more adventurers. Even though it's the same stuff as Kim possible.

First of all, I've never had the pleasure of staying at the BC, but it is a dream of mine to stay there some day if only for a split stay (disability incomes don't provide much vaca money). SAB is something that I would enjoy immensely and I love the seashore and the thought of being so close to EPCOT. So thank you for this wonderfully enjoyable report! :flower3: Next, it's quite unbelievable that people are so rude, but unfortunately, rude people don't suddenly turn thoughtful and considerate just because they go on vacation. Nobody should be able to say that any chair is saved if they don't have personal items sitting there, like their shoes or swim bag etc. A towel just isn't good enough. And to take a group of many chairs/lounges with only a towel here or there is absolutely ridiculous. The CM should make those chairs available to the guests who have come and need seating and watch for any following confrontations. If they don't, then they aren't doing their jobs and a supervisor should be politely notified. Don't let these rude people ruin your trip!

I love this show and I'm glad that they still have it. I missed it on the last two trips, but it's been a while since I was there and didn't know if they still had it; I hope to see it this year. I'm looking forward to the rest of your report, Erika, thanks!
