The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

Those onion rings....loook soooo goood.

White onions not nearly as bad as the red...nice memory Glenn...red=deadly

The last time I was at an Arby's the decade still began with a "7". :guilty:
I've not heard of this sauce either....sounds great.

Maybe it's a southern thing. It's a sweet and spicy sauce made with red peppers and they stuff the Jalapeno's with cream cheese. Grrrrrrrrrrrrmph. I just decided what to have for lunch today.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one!

I've also eaten a whole can of macadamia nuts....

Both times I spent the day on the can......

Lotsa times when you eat a whole can of anything, it can lead to that. A can = the can.

It was a question on your game (or was it Wendy's game?). I don't think I knew it before that.

Oh wow! This is not my grampa's Arbys!

Oooo, notice the disclaimer....limited availability.

Funny eating a bag of chips doesn't have that same affect on me.....So I guess a eating a bag of anything is safe...;)

Glenn! I did as you (subtly) commanded - I read your $5 trip report! Good readin':thumbsup2

Took me a couple days - but I'm glad I read it, now I feel like I "know" you and the fam a bit better. I love that you finally got James on Everest!

You took some really good shots with your (did you say it was new?) camera - what kind is it - if I may ask? Love the night shots of the lobby and portico!

It IS good my friend.

They've changed alot lately. Must not be available up your way.

Dang skippy! :cool1:

I'll have to stop into Arby's sometime and check out what they've got these days.

I'm honored that you took some time to get to know us. :goodvibes Thanks! I know it's a lot to read. But a lot of pictures too.

I have a Canon Rebel XSi. Yes, I got it a few weeks before the trip. I really like it.

And don't worry about the paper reading, that isn't even possible with the store bought strudel dough (you can buy it ready made here, all rolled out and folded up, so you only unfold it and then fill it).

This is starting to sound like phyllo dough to me... Could it be possible that this is just baklava, but with apples instead. :upsidedow

Yeah, I could pull a Hawkeye (was that you Glenn that mentioned that episode?? and have them shipped Express at "humanitarian aid". That looks right UP MY ALLEY!!! :woohoo:

Dang skippy! :cool1:

I'm sticking with dang tootin'.

Was that the episode where they ordered food from Adam's ribs? That was a great one! Oh, and you're right, dang tootin is more appropriate.

Yeah that one. Maybe it was on my thread? I thought Glennbo mentioned it at some point. But now I'm getting things all mixed up. But yes, it was that episode- which was WAY funny!!!

EXACTLY what I was wondering. And that my friend is available in your local grocery store freezer...or fridge...or both.

unless it's a bag of black licorice.....you don't want to know how I know...

I guess it is very similar and there are recipes out there suggesting to make a "cheat strudel using phyllo dough. BUT: don't layer it like you would with phyllo. The strudel dough has no resemblence to puff pastry like phyllo has. And you would need a pretty big sheet of dough. Here in Germany the phyllo is normally sold in rather small sheets. The good thing about the strudel is that when it is rolled up you have the dough between the apples and when it is baked and the apples start being cooked, the dough soaks up the apple juices and is more cooked than baked. It has more the consistency of pasta than bread. And I think this is really the essence of what makes a real apple strudel.

Actually I just checked apple strudel on Wikipedia and it turns out, it is related to Baklava. When the Turks occupied Vienna they brought phyllo dough with them.

And believe it or not, I can even get it at MY "grocery store"- which incidently is called S'Mall. Is that not the funniest thing you've ever heard?? A grocery store called S'Mall! :lmao:

Ok, I digress.... they sell "layer layer dough" and I'm doing this up tonight!!! I'll post a pic later this weekend.

That's what I was thinking. Seriously. I know I put in a bunch of dumb smilies

but I really was thinking that.

Yes it was me that mentioned it. They ordered it to be delivered to Korea from Chicago, but forgot to order cole slaw!

Seems appropriate.

Yep, Adam's Ribs. :thumbsup2

I don't remember if I mentioned it here or on your thread. They're all starting to run together.

It'd be even more convenient if Cafe Oberlaa was in my neighborhood.

As Han Solo (and probably lots of other Star Wars characters) so eloquently put it: "I've got a bad feeling about this."

Talk slowly....you make that sound so good!

Does your grocery have any competitors.....like Outta Stock or something?

Looking forward to pictures of how your strudel turns out.
