Oh, and of course if anyone uses this recipe, please post a picture of how it turned out! :goodvibes

Great recipe! I can just picture myself trying to make the dough... FLOUR EVERYWHERE! Wrestling with the dough, getting it stuck on the ceiling :lmao:

What a recipe!! :scared1:

I've seen server configuration manuals easier to follow than that... LOL :rotfl:

My hat goes off to all the cooks and bakers of the world... Thanks for your dedication to make me heavier every day :lmao:

I'm done with school for a week, so now I have to get caught up!

Good point. Use ninja moves to get to the roof undetected.

Oh, and of course if anyone uses this recipe, please post a picture of how it turned out! :goodvibes

I won't quote the whole recipe Magdalene, but thank you for posting it. I think it's beyond my very limited baking capabilities. Yes, I hope somebody attempts it and posts pictures.

If you attempt it, be sure to post a picture of the mess.

People like you and me Trib should just stick to eating them and leave the baking to the experts.

I'm done with school for a week, so now I have to get caught up!

You have your work cut out for you Winkers! What were you learning about in school this week?

I was learning that I'm not as logical as I once thought I was.

I just finished Intro to Logic, American government and college survival skills

Ok, caught up again and have to comment on the food conversations...

Cinnamon toast was my all-time favorite breakfast as a little kid. As far as Pop Tarts go, chocolate fudge gets my vote.

Sorry, it's Ding Dongs all the way. I used to snag them from the cafeteria in the dorm and stash them in my room for late-night study breaks...yeah, I've always had such healthy eating habits!

Entemann's donuts - are you talking about the Devil's Food crumb ones? Chocolate crumb cake...mmmmmmm....

Ok, this conversation is NOT helping the whole Weight Watchers-until-we-go-to-Disney-so-that-I'm-not-afraid-to-have-my-picture-taken-situation....:rotfl: But this is endlessly more fun than my master's degree work!!!!:thumbsup2

Are you crazy taking Logic and American Government in the same term? They are so polar opposites that you must be totally confused! :confused3

Maybe I'll have to try these dang Ding Dongs.

The Entenmann's donuts are just the regular chocolate covered ones, but you have to look at the picture on the package to be sure to get the chocolate cake ones not the white cake ones. The chocolate ones with chocolate icing (kind of a hard glaze) are absolutely sinful. We were just at the grocery store tonight and managed to resist temptation at the Entenmann's display. James found some of these donuts, but they were in small packages - 2 per package, not in the regular 8 (I think) per box. We resisted until we got to the bakery section and I had to get some peanut butter no-bake cookies. :rolleyes1

What are you studying in your Masters program? Any case studies?

Sorry, I'm gonna post and run. Gotta get to bed.

I guess any Entemann's is pretty dangerous! Congrats for resisting temptation...at least a little. ;)

I'm getting my master's degree in reading (elementary level). Interesting, but lots of work. I've promised myself (as DH rolls his eyes at me) an adult-only Disney trip when I'm done, though...I'm thinking a long weekend in December. He's not big on the idea of going without the kids, but I have another year (plus some) to sell him on it. ;)

All I know is that "Reading Is FUNdamental". Those were public service announcements that were drilled into my head as a kid....while I was watching TV. :happytv:

well who knows what i will be taking about after a few hours of free drinks at the luau

i might tell you about the time a duck eat a cheerio out of my hand will sitting in the golf carts at FW in front our camper.

or the time we took the cart down the fitness trail and picked up pine cones for a girl scout project for my mom only to have them blow out of the back of the pickup truck on the way home and have over 500 pine cones hit the road behind us and explode over the intestate and watch cars dodge em.

or the time when i ate corn nuts and zebra cakes for breakfast when i was about 11 on our way to disney to only throw up in the truck and my parents having to clean the windshield of the truck. ( i was in the back seat when i threw up) you get hte idea.
:sad2:

any one of those topics could come up.

I once at a whole box of prunes......

do I need to say anything else....

I will definitely give it a try. When I am not sure but I will try.

Questions for you (sorry Glennbo, this is even more OT!) I have not watched the video vet so apologies in advance. Does the dough really not stick to the towel? Rolling it out on a towel makes me hideously nervous as despite my lovely fake granite/silestone countertops (which should function like the real thing) dough sticks to it and so I rely heavily on wax paper for my pie crusts.

Which I tried on the tart dough and it stuck to the wax paper. But I didn't let that one refrigerate quite long enough so it was my own fault.
Given that this is something that is rising, etc I just can't quite picture how, flour or not, it won't stick to the towel.

The rest really reminds me of making a jelly roll/pumpkin roll just with raw dough instead of cooked so it makes complete sense.

Theoretically couldn't I roll it out on my silpat (silicone baking sheet), flip onto a floured towel once flat (being the paranoid person that I am) and go from there?

I am not a frequent baker so these may be silly questions....I can't wait to try it though, hopefully this weekend!

:goodvibes

this is why I only make the corned beef and skip the cabbage

That's a scary lineup you had there! Although oddly enough, logic was my favorite class of all time...it's like algebra in english.

Maybe I'll have to try these dang Ding Dongs.

You are outnumbered on this one.

I see the time change is going to be disastrous for chatter with East Coasters. WAH!

Lovely recipe, Magdelena!! Yeah?? I'm wth Cynthia here. A towel?? I tried a pumpkin roll once too, I think 3 Thanksgivings ago, and it stuck all over the dumb towel- even though I had powder sugared it. :confused3 It came out looking like a 1,000 piece jigsaw. I had a recipe for strudel (without a e) and it says the dough should cover the whole kitchen table when you're done rolling. I don't have a towel that big.

Thanks for the chuckle this AM, Cherie! That was funny! No corned beef here- but we made up for with it bean burritos. ;)

WITH homemade tortillas. Double mmmmm.... paired with one of Bek's choco cookies, well, nothing's better, my friend!

If I didn't have heartburn, I'd be drooling. (Note to self...no more onion rings after 9 PM.)

:scared1::scared1::scared1: Onion rings at 9:00??!!

I could do that 10 years ago-- never again! Well, unless I'm at say... an MK Late EMH. Then I might just be able to swing some Casey's corn dog nugs. :cloud9: TTA passengers- beware.

Glenn: See that didn't take long did it?? :lmao: Anytime you need a game to "get us back on track" just let me know. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oops!! I promised to behave myself.... :rolleyes1
