The last week of October 2011 Poly Party starts here!!

VENT TIME!!!!

We shaved one day off our trip because DD is on a travel soccer team and they have a strict policy on missing games (other than due to illness) so we are coming home Saturday 10/29 in the evening as opposed to our original plan of Sunday the 30th because her games are on Sunday so she will miss the 23rd game but we would be home for the 10/30 game. This way she would only miss one game rather than two. She got on this team after we originally booked the trip.

Come home tonight to an e-mail that they had to switch a game. ONE game out of 12 and guess what game?? The 30th...they moved it to the morning of the 29th!!!! So she is going to miss two games regardless and I lost 24 hours of Disney.

The sad thing is that somehow I knew this would happen!!!!!!!

I e-mailed the team manager straight away and explained exactly what I stated above and she seems to be fine with it but I am ticked.

I suppose I could attempt to change flights (flying Southwest) but would have to add on a room only as our pin code expired months ago. I may try to call on Thursday after our 45 day mark has passed and see if I can add an extra night to our original ressie. Maybe someone who booked may have canceled. Who knows if it is even worth it at this point

I figured only my Poly peeps would truly understand. DH is rolling his eyes at my ranting so I thought I would come here and vent.

We did that on our first trip with DD in Oct of 2007. She was 6 at the time. We woke her up that morning very early, as we had an early flight and said get dressed we are going somewhere.

She was in a sleep coma and did not notice the 6 suitcases by the front door. Then I said "the car is here" and she was like "what" and ran to the window and saw the limo. She had always wanted to ride in one Then as she started to really look perplexed! We finally said "We are going to Disney"

DD was an absolute angel of a child for the entire trip She was so happy and had the BEST time. She still talks about how we woke her up in the middle of the night and took her to Disney. It was 4am by the way

She had never been on a plane before, a limo or to Disney so I think she was in a stunned state for the week long trip It was a well planned, well executed surprise that she will never forget

I thought about doing that again, but now that she is older it is fun to plan with her since DH just basically tells me if dates are good and packs his own suitcase. That is the extent of his Disney planning

MNSSHP tickets purchased.........CHECK

E-mail sent to the IPO with some requests.....CHECK Now lets see what they say about my requests The service has been very inconsistent in that department.

I talked to DDs teacher and he has no problem with her missing a week of school!!

After I get DD off to school I am going to attempt to see if I can add my stinking day back

What does CS say?

I wonder if they can use your pin even though it is booked as a vacation package to add room only, since it is in use ? If not, you can keep checking availability everyday so they can "rebook" your package to add a day and your pin should be kept intact.

Worse case if neither the above work, you could always consider renting DVC points for a night? Wouldn't be the poly, but for one night might be kinda fun!

My name is Debbie.....my DH is Steve.....my DD is Emily (14, HS freshman)---and guess what? She's a ONE AND ONLY TOO! My DMIL Maxine will also be joining us on this trip. We are from Indiana - just north of Indianapolis. We are flying since we don't have time to drive. We're going over DD's Fall Break because we don't want her to miss too much school (she'll miss 1.5 days) because she has several Honors classes. Also, she's joining track this year and conditioning starts next week!

On this trip we are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary (Oct 5) and DMIL's 70th birthday (Oct 30) .

This will be our 11th stay at the Poly!! Some of the longhouses we've stayed in --- Tahiti, Fiji, Aotearoa, and Tokelau. We always request "3rd Floor w/Balcony" and sometimes request a specific longhouse. This trip we're leavin' the longhouse up to chance!

Let's see, oh, we're going to MNSSHP on Sunday October 30. BOO!

We have ADRs at ----- Teppan Edo (DD's favorite), CRT (breakfast before the park opens-LOVE walking down an empty Main Street!), Liberty Tree Tavern, Kona Cafe, 50's PTC, and LeCellier. We plan on using our snack credits at all the yummy booths at F&WF.

So excited!!! Only 48 more days!!!

We are also doing CRT breakfast before the park open this year which will be a first for us! I am so excited to be in the empty park for that walk down Main Street! I plan on taking lots of pictures!

Just paid off my trip too!

We surprised Gianna with a late Dec trip 2 years ago, woke her up and asked her if she wanted to go to school or Disney World...she started to cry and said she wanted to stay home because she would miss our dog too much!! (He's a Cavalier just like your profile pic Teri!!) After her initial shock she was super excited!!

We're from downtown Indy, so I guess we're not that far from one another! You're also going to the party the day before us. I'll be over in Epcot that night shamelessly eating my way around the world Can't wait to get some gelato! We're eating at Kona too.

A huge congratulations on your 20th Anniversary! That's a huge achievement. Any ideas on your costumes for the party? If I see you around I'll have to say hello!

Tried to call today and there was no availability but then when I looked up the SW return flight it was up about $120 for the three tickets so I just came to terms with our length of stay.

That stinks! I'm so sorry this has happened, I'd be peeved too! AirTran keeps bumping our flight forward by 30 minutes here, 15 minutes there and now we're leaving an hour and 45 minutes later than originally planned. Luckily we're getting there only an hour later, but still. It screwed up my plans for the day. I have been checking SW to try and cancel the AirTran flight - tell them the new changes are not OK (since they haven't run them by us yet - we just happened to look) and get them refunded and then go with SW, but the flights for the 10:30 AM time that day, which is what our original flight was, are now up to $200 pp. That's $100 more pp than what we paid. No can do. So hopefully AirTran will either make our fligh earlier before the trip or create a trip between the 7AM flight and the 11:45 AM flight we have now, which right now there is nothing, otherwise we'll be getting there so late the first day!

Long story short, I hear you on the SW flight prices!!!!

Ok well now the story gets more interesting. Today for the heck of it I called back the CRO and low and behold there is an extra night now available to add on and the extra cost was not so bad so I was really happy......for a minute I then went to look at SW about changing the outbound flight and now we are looking at almost $850 extra for room and air for about an extra 20 hours at Disney Stupid airfares! It is ridiculous how expensive it is to fly these days!

Hello Poly-October babes!!!!

Sorry I have been MIA this week, I had these weird symptoms early in the week and ended up going to the urgent care on Wednesday. The doctor was worried about me so he sent me to the hospital for a CT scan of my lungs and brain, EKG, blood work, etc, and I ended up having an ALLERGIC reaction to the dye they injected into me! I thought I was going to die!!!!! Four nurses swarmed me with machines and my whole body turned bright red and itchy, my eyes turned red, my tongue swelled up, it was scary!!! After they injected me with all these meds to combat the allergy it comepletely wiped me out and I fell asleep on the gurney. Next thing I know they are waking me up for a MRI of my brain because they thought the CT scan looked like swelling on my brain. But the MRI came back NORMAL, so hooray!!!! Thankfully I am fine now. All tests came back normal, all blood work normal, I got clean bill of health. Crazy as it seems I was laying in the hospital thinking GOD I PRAY I DON'T MISS OUR DISNEY VACATION!!!!!!!!! My priorities are obviously messed up.

Anyway! I am fine now, healthy and celebrating our 45 day mark!!!!!!!! Paid off in full today!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to meet you all!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited I might squeeze you all to death!!!!!!!

I've had a few MRIs this year and they mention possible allergic reactions but they just say "If you start to itch, let me know immediately." Holy cows!!! Well I'm glad all of your tests came back normal and I don't think your priorities are out of whack at all!!! This has been a horrible health year for me and I have always said, come hell or high water (little did I know how real that last statement would be in the mid-atlantic this year!) I'm going on this vacation!!! I NEED it!! More than ever!!!

But I'm glad all is well and that scary moment is over for you!!!

Yikes! I too have recently had a CT scan, but fortunately no allergic reaction to the dye, only the "just peed your pants" feeling you get when then inject it! Happy to hear you're ok and all your tests turned out fine!
