Biscuits and gravy, that seems as bad as peanut butter & jelly:rotfl:
I am only joking but these foods seem so strange to us English. I love American
food and will try both these at pop this year, are there any other dishes we should try?

And don't forget a fluff-a-nutter. This is a peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwich. Yum yum.

I'm a southern girl, but I can't stomach biscuits and gravy! I agree they are strange food....give me bacon and eggs every morning!

P.S. I also think grits are strange food.

Try a peanut butter, marshmallow and banana sandwich. Don't forget the frozen coke machine.

A little OT - but if you can try some aligator tail. It's just yummy!

Well I'm English and I love Biscuits & Gravy and Grits , I even will eat Peanut Butter now . But I do love Marmite, which is definately a Brit thing !!

excuse me for being stupid but what is marmite??

I was raised on southern food and never thought about it being strange until now.:confused3 my mamma(grandma) always ate banana and mayo sandwiches on white bread.. also she used to snack on cornbread that she put in a cup of milk and ate it with a spoon..

My grandparents ate buttermilk and cornbread for supper almost every night! I had a peanut butter and banana sandwich on white bread for lunch yesterday. And biscuits with TOMATO gravy is what you guys need to try-so good!

my mamma drinks buttermilk at every meal:sick: tomato gravy....interesting .. what's that??(besides the obvious) how do you make it??

Marmite is a yeast extract similar to (but better than) vegimite which is an Australian version.
Marmite is advertised as 'you either hate or love it'

My MIL is English and she and my husband really like Marmite...to this day I can't get them to explain what it really is. Is it supposed to be like butter? I think it looks like congealed gravy. Someday I'll get up the nerve to try it!!!

BTW, true Southern girl here--LOVE white gravy and biscuits, LOVE grits (with salt and butter--NO SUGAR!!) Also like "sweet" milk (what my parents call regular milk as opposed to buttermilk) and cornbread
(buttermilk--:crazy2: )

I agree and the rest of my family HATE it DD calls it TARMITE .Says it looks like Tar and smells worse. Me I love it!!

When I was growing up, my best friend's mother used to make the best chocolate biscuits...biscuits with a chocolate sauce! Yummy!

Sorry if this is already back through the thread. If someone knows right off, is Frozen Coke part of the refillable mug program at Pop?

Are there bikes to rent at Pop?

Is there a jogging trail?

Thanks,
DJ

I may give that Mojito a try. We are so "out of touch"....but I have never heard of this drink before; it looks interesting. If I don't like it, DH will drink it, he will always finish the drinks I try but don't like ;) .
