... is Frozen Coke part of the refillable mug program at Pop? ... Are there bikes to rent at Pop? ... Is there a jogging trail?

Thanks,
DJ

Love the frozen cokes. They are our favorite drink on the refillable mug program! There is a great walking/jogging trail around the resort. I have not seen bikes for rent in the 3 times I've been there. Nor have I read anything about them in any of the literature. Sorry. :confused3 Sounds like fun. I've seen surrey bikes on the Boardwalk but not at Pop.

Probably since Pop is a value resort they don't have the rental bikes like at the deluxe resorts. We are DVC members and usually stay there, but we are going on cash this time (saving points for a big family trip next summer), so we are staying at Pop. My DD is so excited about the Frozen Cokes! And another DD wants a place to jog....so sounds like both will be happy there. We have stayed at Pop once before (the first month it was open), but I didn't remember the frozen cokes or the jogging trail (maybe they are new).

I do remember there being some sort of "floor show" where the CMs danced in the food court area twice a day, but I am betting that is gone now (but I could be wrong).

Pop is a fun resort. We can't wait to stay again. The last time it was too cold for the girls to swim, so this time they can give the pool a try!

Thanks!
DJ

The trail isn't an offical jogging trail. It jsut winds around and in and out with different connections, If I remember right. It is usut to goes around the property, but you can jog if you like on it.

Actually, they still do their floor show/dance.....caught it once while we were there last week. Also, one evening they had a little parade with kids marching & "playing" instruments through the lobby. As for the jogging trail.....DH ran one morning while we were there. But he runs 8-12 miles on average each time he runs, so the poor guy circled the resort about 6 times on that path before he decided he'd seen everything too many times and stopped his run early.

Cool! PC is really a nice resort for a value resort. Those little things that make it special (like having frozen cokes and dancing) are really nice. I remember the other thing my kids liked were the 'tickets' they got at the arcade (like the ones you get at Chuckie Cheese Pizza) for prizes. At the DVC resorts they didn't have prizes.

Does anyone know if they still have prizes at the arcade?

We are getting excited about our second visit to PC!

Do you play the games with quarters? tokens? About what does it cost per game?? Just curious if we need to pack more quarters than I was planning. :)

Yes, my kids were thrilled to get prizes last week at the arcade. :goodvibes

As for how you pay....you get a plastic card (similar to your room card/credit cards) from a machine in the arcade. You either put in cash or charge to your room key to load amounts onto the arcade card. Then each game machine has a place to swipe the card. It will tell you the cost of the game as well as your remaining balance. If you want to play, you then push the indicated button and it will deduct those points from your card. The amount to play each game varies from 15 points on up (the highest my kids played for was 75 but I'm not sure if that's the highest in the arcade). For $5 I think they received 250 points on their cards or something similar. Not all of the games gave you tickets to turn in for prizes, but a fair number of them did (like skeeball, a punch-the-clown-in-the-nose game, and such). My kids' favorites were air hockey and a motorcycle ride.

Hey everyone! :wave2: DW & I are staying at POP July 8-13. Last year we stayed at Beach Club :worship: , but this year's trip was unplanned until two days ago :woohoo: , & we're on a fairly tight budget. POP looks really cool! I'm excited about the frozen cokes! We really enjoyed those when we stayed at Contemporary a few years ago.

Anyways, I'll be hanging around this thread to get some good info. :goodvibes

There are a couple games in the arcade that gives tons of tickets: I think it's called Color Wheel. You guess the color that the ball lands on, and if it does, you win. Red was 25, green was 50, yellow was 75, and white was 125. Of course, the white and yellow spaces were much smaller than the red and green. Last week, yellow was the most popular land, IMHO. We won 75 tickets several times. Once, it landed on white, and it still gave out tickets to yellow. ?? When we went last year, Feeding Frenzy gave tons of tickets. However, they seem to have recalibrated it before our trip last week...lol.

Last year, DD was able to get a Minnie Mouse doll with her tickets. This year, there were no "name brand" dolls.

They had the tickets and prizes in May!

Just booked our first trip to Pop for August. Can't wait after reading the reports here!:cheer2:

Okay, I can't take it anymore. I've been to POP twice and have no memory of the frozen cokes. Are they in a mysterious or easy to overlook location, or am I just not that observant? (which could totally be the case with so much other stuff going on). ;)

If I remember right there are 3 rows of drink stations. Only the center one had the frozen coke near the end closest to the cashiers.

Ok - now that I know where they are I am going to have a very happy 4-year old on this trip. Thank you!!! :woohoo:

Ok, I know that there is the Shades of Green resort, but I was wondering if anyone knows if Disney gives any kind of military discounts on their own resorts. I've looked at the SoG site and I'm not sure if we qualify for it or not. I've really got my heart set on PoP but if we are able to cut some corners cost wise, I really need to. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ( I think I might post this question on it's own thread too, just in case some Non Pop'ers might know the answer)
