It was the only place I have ever stayed at the disney resort. But I really loved it. It is the reason I am going back. It was also my first time at disney and I did not know anything and everyone there was so helpful.

If you are going to upgrade your room, I don't feel there is a notable size difference between a value and a moderate, so you would want to go to a deluxe for a bigger room (bigger beds too).

We love POP. We love the deluxes as well. Check the pricing because it can be cheaper to get 2 rooms at POP versus 1 room at a deluxe. It really depends on how much you are going to be in your room and how much 'closeness' you can tolerate. My family (dh, myself, dd12, ds10) had no problem being in 1 room at POP.

I would have to agree with that. The moderate rooms aren't much bigger than the values and the deluxes with bigger rooms (Poly, CR, YC, BWI) are expensive. With a moderate you'd get a 2nd sink, a fridge & a coffee maker and more relaxed atmosphere. I find Pop to be fun-your DS would LOVE it!

I'm putting a lot of faith into all of you, I wasn't originally going to stay at Pop because it seems very small & I haven't really heard good things about the All Stars. After finding this thread, I decided to chance Pop. :scared: But it's Disney, so how bad can it be?

How do you get from Pop to other hotels? (not renting a car) We're doing a character breakfast at the Polynesian and maybe dinner at Wilderness Lodge. For the breakfast, we'll probably just hop on the monorail from MK.

Dinner at Whispering Canyon = Good choice.

Best way to get to Wilderness Lodge is probably to take the bus to MK and then take the boat to Wilderness Lodge. It's a nice ride. Love the Wilderness Lodge!

We have also found that it is cheaper to get two rooms at POP as opposed to one room at another resort. It does depend on the time of year and all that jazz. We also really like to have the space of two rooms. It lets us relax more when we are actually in the room.

We checked out price of a deluxe that allowed 5 and 2 rooms at Pop. Pop was cheaper!! Do they have silverware at the foodcourt and if you share a meal can you get an extra plate??

They have plastic silverware and yes you can get an extra plate.

If you are looking for a bit more room, does the moderates have larger beds? I thought Moderates have queen, while values have full size. That might just make the difference for some.

Port Orleans Riverside def does *not* have queen sized beds; they're standard. Don't know about the others.

:)

The moderates do not have queens. All Moderates have full size beds.

Quick question...

Buses to and from the parks. We stayed at All Star Movies last time and it was HORRENDOUS packing everyone on the buses back and forth.

What's the bus situation like with this resort? Just changed our ressies to this place to get free dining yesterday and so far, like what I've read- but I'm wondering if the bus situation is as bad as the All Stars?

We were there in June 2006 and the buses weren't bad. I actually like the bus set up. At the other Disney hotels we've stayed in you could be the first one there at the bus stop and everyone else could crowd you out and you wouldn't get on the bus.

Here, they have the que lines and you get on in the orer you get to the stop.

One morning there was a long line for MK......but two buses pulled up and we all got on...no problems.

The only thing we didn't like was that POP seemed to be one of the furthest stops at all the parks.

Sorry- I meant riding back to the hotel. Should have thought of that!

If I remember right, when we were at the other hotel- we made all three stops (All Stars)- so the buses were always PACKED going back to the hotel. Sometimes you wouldn't even be able to get on the bus when it arrived- because the line was too dang long.

Is it the same with Pop?

Thanks! I wasn't too sure on that issue. so Iguees if the beds are bigger, and the room isn't much bigger, why pay more for a moderate? I loved our POP room. But we were on the go alot and weren't spending hours on end there either.

I guess it depends on when you go back to the hotel. If you are going back when park closes buses will be packed but there are no others stops. It goes directly back to POP. We stayed at POR before and had to stop several times b-4 getting to our stop. I really think POP buses are very efficient.:thumbsup2

We were at Pop this last March and they packed the buses REALLY full. Standing room only on almost all trips with people stil lwaiting for the next bus. For us it took at least two buses before we got on each time from the hotel, and usually we got on right away on the way back, but not always. And they still packed them on. Teh ywould wait to fill it even, if there wasn't a full load.

Pop has it own bus...it does not share with any other resort.
The All Stars share buses between the 3 of them.

I don't think it is *as bad* as the All Stars, namely because it is 1 resort so there is one stop. We noticed, especially during our May trip, that the All Star lines could be as long as the POP lines but 2 or 3 buses in a row would arrive for POP. Sometimes they are stacked and loading at the same time! (This happend at MK & Epcot.)

I do agree that POP has the bus stop furthest from the park entrances.

To help with the bus crowding, we always linger as we are leaving at park, if it is closing time. It allows some of the mad rush to pass. On our last trip, we only had to stand once - and it was the last day. We just took it as a sign that our trip really was at the end.
