Just let me say I absolutely LOVE Pop!!! We stayed @ POR cause I couldn't get an AP rate for POP and we enjoyed it but we couldn't wait to get back to Pop for our trip in Aug. and then we get the free upgrade to SSR!! So, we will be back @ POP at the end of Sept. if we don't get offered another great deal.
We have stayed in the 70s, 50s, and the 90s! Now, I one of those that always requests certain bldgs. and I always need connecting rooms w/my inlaws. I never get them but I always love where we stay. In the 70s we stayed on the backside of the bldg. so we didn't have a view/the courtyard and this was my least favorite. I loved staying in the 50s. We were on the 3rd floor (tramp) was in front of us and we were facing the pool but not considered preferred because your not right in front of the pool. This was my favorite cause we could go on the balcony and see everything. The food court was very close.

Now, this past Jan. we were put in 90s. I was like great, in the very back with a view of the parking lot. I requested 50s on the 1st floor and I got 90s on the 4th floor. Well, everynight we watched Illuminations @ 9:00 from our balcony. We loved this! The pool was right around the corner and we could see our van in the parking lot. When we go back in Sept., I'm going to try to get 50s again. But I love everything about Pop. The frozen cokes are the best! My FIL and dd love to fish at the lakes and they don't mind where he couldn't @ POR. Be sure and bring lots of stuff for your window. We love doing this!
Have fun!

Hi - what kinds of things do you bring to decorate your window with? I've never done that, but am dying to try it this trip. I found some mr. potato head cutouts at the dollar store, but also want to put some more "disney" things in the window.

We go a little overboard w/this but here it goes:
-we vacumn pack about 30 disney plush
-I have tink and mickey and friends lights that I put around the window(bring extension cord)
-I tape the limegreen mickey heads on the window and my door
-I found a lot of disney stickers @ Big Lots that I put on the window and our van
We have so many people stop to look @ our window and we get to meet people that way. The windows are really big and we use 2 our chairs to place the animals on. I will have to post a picture soon.
Have fun!

Thanks for the info! I'm afraid my dd will also refuse to nap in the room with us in there. It could possibly take us five hours to get her down. I just don't know until we get there. I've been trying to work up some touring plans to get us started. That's a bit difficult since I really don't know what she will do.

Okay, I didn't know we were supposed to decorate windows too. Agg...more things to go on the hunt for. I've been making some custom outfits because of the boutique thread, and still working on an autograph book. Planning our first trip is so much fun. Everyday I learn of something new to do!

I have a 2 and a 3 year old and they ended up napping in the stroller when they were pooped. I tried the nap thing and it never worked. Good luck though. Have a great trip:dance3:

Same here! I love the idea of going back to the room to nap but it just never has worked for us either. They conk out in the stroller and then it's impossible to keep them asleep for the bus ride back to the hotel and back into the room...or if they don't fall asleep they are way to excited to suddenly plop down when we put them in the room. Worst case, they don't nap and then conk out early in the evening.

I have a quesiton. If you vacum pack stuff to take down, how do you get it back? Since you don't have a vacum to do it again?

Quick question...

Does POP have the option of a rollaway bed? If they do, how much does it cost? Also, is there neough room for it? My mom, sister and I are going 8/26-8/31. It would be nice if we could each have our own bed and not have to share.

Thank you!
Michelle

Honestly, I can't imagine a rollaway bed fitting in those rooms. They are adequate, but certianly not big by any means. This is not an official answer, as I don't know the answer, but just what came to my mind. Good luck in any case. :confused3

I scanned a LIME GREEN MICKEY PAINT CHIP, then blew it up to FULLPAGE and printed it on Cling Paper.

I don't think so either. There really is no room ,and I think the max for a room is 4 not including a baby. So if they had beds they would say 5. You could bring an airmattress and then each take a turn at sleeeping on that.

I didn't know you could print on cling paper - is that something you buy at staples or wherever and do at home...or is it a kinkos job? That looked way cool!

you can have a disney gift basket delivered to the room..a friend of mine just did this in may..I think Disney has their own gift basket company, but she used someone else..maybe google disney gift baskets and see what comes up

I just used Memories by Sarah (www.memoriesbysarah.com) and I would HIGHLY recommend her! She was GREAT!!!

No, Pop does not have roll away beds. Your only option is a twin air mattress and then you would have to move the table and chairs to fit it. Also, if you have more than two adults in a room, it is $10 extra a night.

I decorated 2 windows in April (after Easter) I bought lite on sale after Xmas Red and Clear. ! window was Tink I found Foam Tinks at the Dollar store, and used aTink calendar to add more Tinks, bought yellow Stars in the classroom section at the Dollar store, The other window was Mickey again the foamies from the dollar store Mickeyheads in red & blue and the stars in the same colors. Got lots of comments about them and will definately be a window decorator next time it's fun and makes finding your room really easy!!I found books for autographs at a Dollar store they were all differnt Disney characters ,hard covers and just a dollar!!Hope this helps!!

Really??? :confused3 I did not know that. No one said anything to me. Our trip is completely paid for and the person I made the reservation with was very well aware that we were three adults. Do you think they will charge us extra once we get there? I certainly hope not considering I was completely upfront and wasn't trying to "hide" anyone.

Thank you for the info!! :flower3:

Wow, what a long Thread, can't honestly say I read through all of it but I have some questions. I noticed the begining of this thread was describing what the resort would look like. I also noticed it was written many moons ago. It mentions a Roger Rabbit statue in one of the buildings, I was wondering if this was ever made? If so, does anyone have any pics? I would stay in this resort just to see that up close.:rotfl: Also, what are the best rooms to stay in to watch Illuminations? Thanks in advanced, Stay Retro. :3dglasses

excuse me for being stupid but what is marmite??

I was raised on southern food and never thought about it being strange until now.:confused3 my mamma(grandma) always ate banana and mayo sandwiches on white bread.. also she used to snack on cornbread that she put in a cup of milk and ate it with a spoon..

OMG!!! that brings back some memories! my dad grew up in Mississippi and by the time i was born we were in Texas but one of his favorite snacks that i would love to share with him was cornbread broken up and placed in a glass of buttermilk and eaten with a spoon!!! :wizard:

Hi all, my DH, DD (age3), and I will be at the POP Sept 3-9 for our first real family vacation!!
Any great tips with a toddler? We are currently in a preferred room, but if that is next to the pool, should we switch to a quieter room. We will definately be coming back during the day for naps.
I've been with two of my grandchildren at 3, one napped well in the room, and one napped occasionally, so it really depends on the kid. One of their favorite things was Disney transportation of any kind - busses, boats, monorails, trains, etc. Everything at Disney is just awe-inspiring to a toddler - ENJOY!! And remember that if you don't see EVERYTHING this trip, there is always another time. :cutie:

I couldn't ever find the cling paper that Disunc used, so I just found some clings at the Dollar Tree - one was Nemo characters and one was Goofy. I added my lime green mickey heads from Home Depot so everyone would know we were DIS people. We put a couple of plush characters in the window as well. My family thought I was kind of nuts, but then they enjoyed it too! :goodvibes
