:wave2: :wave2: :wave2: everybody !!!!

Myself and DGH will be staying at Pop this August :yay: for the first time !!! 10 days !!! :cheer2:

I'm really excited ... and have to "learn" many things :thanks: from this wonderful thread !!!!

Laura :cloud9:

Hello again!!

Anyone specifically request 'preferred'? Just started learning about POP yesterday, but am thinking that maybe I didn't need to book that kind of room. It is JUST the 60's? So, really, some rooms in any of the other buildings could still be closer to the food court, etc, depending on where our room is in the 60's?? Opinions? TIA! :)

ETA: I found the info that they switched the preferred room. Thanks anyways!

I wouldn't booke preferred. You will get people who think it is worht it, but to me, it's not. I think it's only about a 7 minute walk, MAX from anywhere on property. We did the 70's, and we were in the back, close to the lake, and I didn't think it was too far at all.

I'm NOW thinking of booking/asking for a room in the 50's ... as I like the theming so much !! :thumbsup2 having seen wonderful pics on the Pop Century pictures thread !!! :dance3:

What do you "experts" think of ? Any suggestions ??? Could I ask for a pool view ??

THANK YOU !!!!! :yay:

Can't wait to be there !!!! Laura

So, for all of you who decorate your windows, how do you attach the LGMHs to the window? Are you just using scotch tape? It seems like the tape would show and it wouldnt look so good.

I can understand the window clings, but I assume that you just "cling" them backwards? I thought that window clings usually had the "non-picture" side attached to the window, so if you want the picture to show outside, you'd have to stick them with the picture facing out....

And for those who put stuffed animals in the window, how big is the ledge along the window at POP?

Also, how far away is the outlet from the window, as in what length extension cord would I need to plug in Xmas lights?

I put my window clings on the outside and no one bothered them. Also attached the LGMH's with tape. The ledge is probably about 3-4 inches wide, enough for a stuffed animal and for the washcloth animals that Mousekeeping leaves. (BTW, every room in the 70's section had one in the window on arrival, but we were there a week and only got one more while we were there.) I didn't use lights so am not sure about the outlet, but would guess the one by the table is only about 4 feet from the window. I just did a few things, but it was fun and made things more festive. I also put a cling on the mirror for more fun.

Hi! How did you get the stuffed animals to stay?? We tried this at ASMovies a few years ago, and had a terrible time with them falling off the ledge!!
:confused3

I'm trying to decide if I even want to request a specific building. We are keeping the preferred room. I think I'd like the 70's, with the location to the pool and pop jets, but I'm afraid to request it and then be disappointed if we don't get it! LOL!

A preferred room was the only thing available when I booked our free dining stay in September. I am thankful because it is going to be hot and any steps I can save I will be grateful for!! At the end of a long day at the parks I will be glad that my room is not at the back of the resort!! I have never had a preferred room before but since it was the only room available it's like the decision was made for me!

Also, at the end of our days we usually go to our room and get our refillable mug and go back to the food court. So being closer will make that easier as well!!

:thumbsup2 My dh is happy about the closer distance for his walk to refill the mugs. ;)

ok, I posted this on another thread about split stays, but I'm going to ask here too!
If we call bell services to pick up our luggage, do we have to wait in the room until they get there? (But it probably would be a good idea to be there right?) We are moving from POP to WL, and would like to head out early. Do you know what the earliest time someone could come and pick up our loads-o-stuff? :) :thanks:

I don't think Pop has bell services. I think you have to take your luggage up to the desk to have it delivered. I know someone else can better answer your question, but I would make a post with that as a subject to get a better answer.
But it seems like I read in the past where they had to bring the luggage up to the front in the morning.

What we do is put 2 chairs behind the curtain and place all the stuffed animals starting there and my dh does his magic! We use one of the shorter extension cords for our lights and we use the plug that's behind the drawers.
Have fun!

Wow - I LOVE your window. Of course, there is no way I'm bringing that many stuffed animals, but it did look amazing. I wish I could find inflatable characters, hmmm...something to search for.

Thank you! It's easy for us cause we drive down w/the animals. I bought a inflatable pirate mickey that I might bring for our MNSSHP trip. We have so much fun doing this.

thanks mousiemom!!

re: bell services.... I just assumed that they had it, because we called and someone came to get our luggage to transfer at ASMovies a few years ago!!
I hope we don't have to lug it ourselves, LOL! :)

My best POP tip - the foodcourt!! CS was better there than in the park, I thought.

If you do CS there, go around to the front of the food court where the ice cream case is. You can get your dessert there - I got TWO hotfudge sundaes while we were there because they were so good...and HUGE! DH got a shake as his dessert a couple times, too.

Thanks for the tip! The desserts sound much better than the park options for counter service! Do you pick up your dessert first, then onto where you order the entree of the meal?:confused3

No, they don't have bell services but we always get the luggage carts to take our stuff to the rooms. We like doing it ourselves anyway.

We just got our food first and then got our dessert and went back in to get in line to pay. I'd do it this way, because even then our ice cream got a little melted before we got to our room. Have fun!

so, just POP doesn't do luggage assistance now, or did the All-Stars get rid of it now?? :confused3
I just thought that if you were doing a split stay, they moved your stuff for you!!

ETA: ok, after doing some more research, I see that it's not called bell services, but you can get someone to pick up your bags in your room...!

You can pay for your meal and your sundae eat your meal and then take your slip up to the counter and get your sundae we did it several times I think they give you an hour !!

Just wanted to confirm that they do have luggage assistance - just not sure exactly what they call it. But I've used them several times with no problems. I just called the FD to arrange it the night before. :)

thanks, mousebit!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

VERY cool about being able to go back to get ice cream after dinner...that's good to know!
