i have a quick question. the refillable mugs for the pop what do they look like right now. im going down in a couple of weeks and would love to no.

We will be staying at PC 8/25 thru 9/1 and we wanted to know what bldg has the best view of the fireworks, in case we are not going to be ast one of the parks that nite. Thanks for your help.

The mugs are the generic "2007" mugs. They have a light blue background with Mickey and Minnie on the from, Cinderella's castle on the side and Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto on the back.

Sorry - don't have a picture.

I can't remember if it was dollar general or dollar tree, but I was able to find mr. potato head cut-outs (I think they were technically party decorations). Anyway, how perfect for POP window decorations! I've also been stocking up on the mickey paint sample heads from home depot each time we go...trying not to be obnoxious about it. Thanks for the reminder about the glow necklaces/sticks/etc. - so much cheaper to bring from home!!!

OohH!! I'd be sooo happy if I found Mr Potato Head Cutouts!

Those are the YOMD mugs that are good at all resorts, right? I was kind of disappointed because it's fun to have all the different mugs from all the resorts we've stayed at, but I guess it's cool that you can fill them anywhere.

Hi. So are all the mugs the same? I remember last time that we were able to each have a different color, which made it easy to tell them apart. If they are all the same now, maybe I'll make p-touch labels for everyone. Is that too anal??? :rotfl:

The mugs are all the same although there are black or gray handles (can't remember if there were any other handle colors - we only got those two).

They have blue handles also! Can you use them at any resort or just the one you bought them at??

We were in the 70's bldg, so one night for illuminations I walked back to the bridge over the lake, and there were some people watching from there. However, I then climbed up to the 4th floor of the 60's building at the back by the lake and had a much better view just standing on the balcony.

Hi all, my DH, DD (age3), and I will be at the POP Sept 3-9 for our first real family vacation!!:yay: DD is so excited, she asks pretty much everyday "we go to Dhis-KNEE World today?" I'll say no, and say 75 more days. DD "Okay, we go in five days then." (what ever the last number is):cutie: Gotta love the anticipation.

Any great tips with a toddler? We are currently in a preferred room, but if that is next to the pool, should we switch to a quieter room. We will definately be coming back during the day for naps.

When my son was young we had a count down calendar. I printed out all of the numbers and every day we took one away. It helped him understand when we were going. Good luck and have a wondeful trip with "our" mouse.

I am planning an august holiday at Pop century next year, with the dining plan and 14 day ultimate tickets for myself, my sister and (scary thought) her children Eleanor, Lauren and Robert all who will be 14 next year. Its going to be their christmas/birthday (its in february) present. Is there anything that I can get delivered to the room as a suprise hello you are at disney world gift for them?

I know a bunch a people who used gift baskets by sarah. I believe there is a thread with her website on the budget board. i saw pics of the baskets and they are really nice. She works with you on a budget and also customizes it for you. :wizard:

We took our 2 year old this last March. Just go with the flow and don't rush. She is a terrible napper if someone is in the room ,so we skipped naps altogether. We would've been in the room for 5 hours trying to get her to sleep. So we let her sleep in if as long as we could. She fell asleep on the way back form breakfast one morning and DH and her took a several hour morning nap that day. She also fell asleep on our way to DTD one ngith, so we let her sleep in our van until it was time for our dinner reservations. (DH sat with her again).
I wouldn't do preffered. They really aren't much closer to the bus stops or Classic hall. We stay in the 70's building and we were back by the lake and our walk wasn't far at all. We did one evening at the kiddy pool, and she enjoyed that alot too. We rode every ride we could, and I found that if your DD can stay up late (ours can) then evening Extra Magiacl hours are great and we rode a ton of stuff during those hours. ( Our DD usually stays up till 11 and sleeps in till 10. The first night we were there we stayed at the park till 1:15 AM and she was still going strong! LOL! She unfortuantely woke the next day at 8:30 AM screaming that she needed to see Mickey Mouse. So we got ready and that was the first thing we did!

We brought a stroller and even though DD liked to walk most of the day, she did ride in it here and there, and it was great to keep our bags in. We had a change of clothes for her, treats, and diapers ,etc, and lugging that around would've been a pain, but pushing a stroller was a breeze.

I agree - don't overplan and go with the flow. We've gone tons of times with our little ones and the best times are when we don't expect too much. Naps and eating schedules get thrown off and everyone's mood is affected, so the more mellow I can be, the faster the recovery and everyone has fun. The hardest part for me is slowing down to toddler speed...not rushing from ride to ride, but taking time to go to all the play areas, eat snacks, whatever catches their eyes. POP is great for kids...a lot of space to run around and a nice playground. So much to see and do without even going into the parks! Have fun!
