Da Yoopers are a band out of Ishpeming, MI. (Residents of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, or U.P. are called UPers or Yoopers - thus the band name). They are limiting the practice they are allowing to try and save the snow. It's crazy, how little snow we have gotten this year. I have never seen it like this. We are supposed to get a little snow here in southern ontario tonight but only about an inch or two. I am a little further north and may not get any, this storm is coming from you great folks from the south.

Strange winter.

Yep, we're supposed to have blizzard conditions today so I decided to stay home from work. We only got about 6 inches this past weekend, unlike Philly and Baltimore, but we might get a lot more today.

By the way, how was Bob Jackson?

We got 0 (yes ZERO) from the last storm but they are calling for 10-20 inches from this one. Way to go!!!! Nice to have a good estimate. They should just say 0-40 inches and cover all the bases. It started here just before 7 and it is already coming down hard now.

Are you guys in MD, VA,TN getting hit with this storm too?

We are not getting much here in NE-TN...but what we did get is slick (packs really well into ice)...and at 16°F it ain't going to get any better. Not sure what the wind in making our windchill...but it's pretty cold.

A cold first off...

Nothing Huge, cold front pushed em off the beds, but I did catch 7 fish, biggest went 3.5#'s

No snow for us, but getting colder, it's going to be 38 tomorrow night

Break out the electric blankets

That sounds like my fishing luck. I usually catch a cold because a cold front pushes through right before I go. At least you caught some.

I am wating for the middle of March when the stripers come up the Chesapeake Bay. I have a lot of work to do to the boat before then. Problem is with all this snow, I can't get to my boat to work on it. hopefully it will melt quick

Yep. But this is the first time I missed work due to the weather. The other storms have been on weekends. Today was a no-brainer.. I looked out the window and could barely see across the street because of the wind/snow. Richmond is closed!!

Oh man Barry - I remember this one from when we lived near Ann Arbor! Too funny. Thanks for sharing. But now you have me thinking about taking a trip up to the U.P.... in the spring or summer of course, but it's been a long time since we were last up there... hmmm... we've been talking about it for a couple of years now. I think that just might have to happen this year.
