Well, I don't go for "fist" posting, but here's a welcome to ya anyway. I'm a doggie person myself, so here is a picture to welcome you of the doggie I would like to get next. I have a samoyed now and would love her to have a buddie........it's a Calalier King Charles Spaniel.

I don't have the go ahead yet from DH.....he's not sure if he wants two dogs at the same time. But I keep trying. I look for them on puppy rescue sites and see some but I can't start the process yet.

Bait? It was a serious question. I haven't seen vicious posts from Obama voters. What do we have to be vicious about? Our guy won. We have a Democratic majority in both houses. The Supreme Court appointments made in the next four years will be ones we favor. We're excited for 1/20/09 to get here. I was serious. I missed the vicious.

Paulson Shifts Focus of Rescue to Consumer Lending

Nov. 12 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson plans to use the second half of the $700 billion financial rescue program to help relieve pressures on consumer credit, scrapping an effort to buy devalued mortgage assets.

``Illiquidity in this sector is raising the cost and reducing the availability of car loans, student loans and credit cards,'' Paulson said today in a speech at the Treasury in Washington. ``This is creating a heavy burden on the American people and reducing the number of jobs in our economy.''

Paulson's remarks are an acknowledgement that the pitch he made to Congress for the bailout hasn't delivered what was promised. Paulson sold the Troubled Asset Relief Program as a way to rid bank balance sheets of illiquid mortgage assets, and he may encounter resistance from Congress for the remaining $350 billion after using most of the first half to buy bank stakes.

HI everyone! I'm back and kind of loopy (what else is new? LOL) The MRI went well and although I was awake for most of it, I didn't flip out or anything.

A little tired now, but starving. Once we get the kids from school, we're going to head out to go out to eat.

As for Newt running for Pres - I really like the guy. I think he's brilliant and I love to hear him talk. The man has a mind like an encyclopedia and I would love to just sit and talk with him about American history and politics. Plus he seems like a nice guy, BUT, I'm not sure if he'll get the Repub. nom for CIC.
