The Conservative Thread: Back to Basics. Pass the Lasagna and Have a Flower!!

Okay so I admit I've been enveloped by the WDW bubble since Friday and haven't seen much news, checked the internet, or mentioned BO for that matter (just got back last night). After taking awhile this afternoon to watch the news and read this thread I'm officially off of my Disney high and back to reality. I can't believe the stock market today. I can't believe that BO wants to shut down gitmo ASAP. I can't believe that the dems plan on national healthcare. Finally I cannot believe that the BO supporters are still happy with their decision. We're already seeing the effects of a BO presidency, this guy is going to seriously screw us all and their still on :cloud9: .

Okay I'm going out to read more and get even more concerned about this country:mad: .

Tina

Ok....zip, I SO don't want to know what THAT covenant's about...:lmao:

:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 I cook it in a casserole dish - if you add enought chicken stock and butter to it - it doesn't get dried out - and the turkey gravy adds a lot of flavor over it.

:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Here's some more turkey, and I made a plate special for you DISUNC!

Oh geeze, and I thought i was hungry b4 I saw these pics. :rotfl: Not I'm starving. Looks like its time to go clean the pans so i can make supper. :rotfl:

I'm wondering something. Back when the Republicans had control of both houses of Congress and the White House that was a bad thing according to Democrats. Now that the the Demorcrats have control of both houses of Congress and the White House, it's a good thing? :confused3

How was the stock market in 2006? How was unemployment? How were home prices? How was the economy? How were banks? How was the auto industry?

The Dems take over both houses of Congress and look what happens!

Then, in just one short week, since the world found out that Obama will become president, look what has happened to the stock market. Investors around the world are frightened to death at the higher taxes and Marxist policies an Obama administration, with the Pelosi House and Reid Senate, are going to ram down our throats.

We may even lose our AAA credit rating!

Congratulations, America! We have become an Obamanation.

Yep. I just heard about why nothing is helping the market. The investors know, whatever is put into effect.....bo will throw it out as soon as his reign begis. They are scared.

Totally the truth - both here and IRL. You would think they lost. Are you channeling the Patridge Family here -- yep - maybe that's what they need -- David Cassidy singing C'mon Get Happy!

They wouldn't be happy with David. They'd complain it wasn't Greg Brady singing "It's a Sunshine Day".

Afternoon/evening everybody:wave:

HOw goes it?

1 more work day for me and then i get my 3 day weekend woohoo:woohoo: That comes after working 6 days in a row.

And Glenn Beck sent me a lovely picture for the day. This represents Keith Olbermann. Big surprise:rotfl:

Sorry that's not hairy enough:goodvibes.

Er actually, that was a pretty decent message..........for those who think "getting along" is the highest ideal to strive for.

I admit, I just wanted to use my kitty picture.......

For myself, I will stick to principle, Breezy's lasagna & a strict regime of cat taunting to see me through the next four years.

Our hand was slapped back so many times during the last administration by those who all of a sudden want to make nice, that I have small interest (see picture below)

careometer.jpg

in shaking hands with those who will take this act of simple courtesy, as an endorsement and primacy of their point of view.

I say it is time to set our teams, draw the line in the sand, & begin the call to battle.

"Red Rover Red Rover send.........."

in short,

48 sends message to 52,

"We Told You So"

repeat as necessary.........

Just got back from DS's 9 mo appointment. He's in perfect health...29 inches high, 21 lbs 9 o, no anemia, everything's good to go. :thumbsup2

Hi all! Hope everyone's doing well! :wizard:

You know, everytime that man came on Fox to be interviewed, I liked him more and more. He speaks well, doesn't come off angry and to boot.....is good looking. I don't know anything not to like about him. Anyone else know? He seems like a true conservative. Maybe we should think about him as running in the future.

Steele seems to be a true conservative and an effective communicator, which we desperately need from the next RNC chairman. I'd need to study his background further in terms of policies before thinking about him as a national candidate though. He was Lt. Governor of Maryland, and I believe he ran for Senate a few years back. That was when I first remember seeing him in the news.

See, there goes that ridiculous combination of logic and compassion again. :lmao:
I try to explain that to people, too, but I am learning to save my breath IRL because they hate us for our religion before they even know us. It doesn't seem to get through that we can disagree with someone's lifestyle and not hate them. :sad2:
But I digress...let's move on to better topics. Like the fact that bo is apparently a treasonous snake. If true, that meeting with hamas doesn't surprise me a bit.

Praying for you, MM.

It's pitiful how some people act. Like the posts I made about the lady at another message board I belong to. If a politician is a conservative and religious, they're dangerous. Sarah Palin is a whackjob because she says she prays that God will help her see open doors, i.e. help her find what He means for her to do. It's bull. Some of the people who scream "tolerance" at everyone are among the most intolerant people I have ever known to Christians. I'm sensitive, so it does get to me at times. At the end of the day though, what small minded people think of me means nothing. Jesus' opinion is the only opinion that matters to me in the end.

I met Newt in........DisneyWorld!! Yes, I did. Literally bumped into him at the German Pavilion trains. I apologized to him and then realized who he was and screamed, "OMG you're Newt." He said, "why yes I am" He laughed at me. He was really nice.

That's neat! You know, I've never seen a famous person in WDW. I read over and over again about people running into famous people there, but never me. I must have Anti-Celebrity Repellant on my clothes. :rotfl:

I agree...:scared1:

DH commutes 60 miles per day...one way...to work. Not to mention all the driving we do for sports, etc.

Yikes! I commuted over 30 miles each way to graduate school. I can't imagine 60 miles each way.

I'm noticing that the Obama supporters are acting much the same way as the Bush suppoerters were being accused of back in 2000; the man can do no wrong. God forbid you try to bring up something he may have done wrong, because then you'd be accused of using Republican smear tatics.

Welcome Cape! Like others, I was used to your screenname around the CB and I thought you always posted here. Sorry! Excellent point too. Someone told me elsewhere the other day "You just don't like anyone or anything, get over it!" Umm, no, I just don't like fringe left policies and politicians. God forbid I don't want my taxes raised, all restrictions on abortion negated, Israel thrown to the wolves, a compulsory service program, and a weakened military, among other things. But thanks for proving you don't bother to read specifics! People like her just see "I don't like that..." and it must be squashed! No criticism of The One is allowed! But if it's a conservative, they'll bash endlessly with no specifics, and that's "free speech" and you're the devil incarnate if you try to ask for specifics. Ahh, sweet hypocrisy. :rolleyes1

Hi conservatives...count me in your numbers :thumbsup2

Welcome! I love your siggie too! That's one of my favorite scenes from Lilo & Stitch.

Hi everyone! I have been crazy busy so I haven't been around too much! I hope all my conservative friends are doing well!

Hiya nanner! Hope all's well. I'm still waiting on more dirt on the law student you mentioned. :rotfl2:

Because 2+2=5, naturally.

Ugghh!! I hate being an Eeyore. More bad news. The DOW is down 14% since the election. The congress is deciding healthcare reform should go much further than bo originally stated. They want National Healthcare...just like Hillary. Can I say...told you so?

I'm trying not to let it bother me. Like I told a friend the other night, people will get exactly what they voted for, IMO. And it's just too bad that those of us who didn't want it, get stuck with the consequences also.

Oh great! Where did I put my sand?

Oh and Charade I here that you are Homophobic :lmao:

This is random, but I think it was FFM who posted the link to Subsonicradio the other day (where they have all of the Disney theme park, resort, etc. music). It's awesome!

They're playing the entire audio to my favorite attraction now: Philharmagic. That show inspired my screenname here on the DIS. I :lovestruc Donald Duck.

I'm sitting here grinning like an idiot. Obama can take away my money, but he can't take away my Disney-provoked smile. :wizard:

Since Breezy brought the turkey and booze, I'll bring my famous pecan pie.

Oops, sorry! Thank you so much. I can't believe I'd never heard of that website before. I need to post enough over there to be able to request the Wilderness Lodge lobby loop.

I've marked a few treasures so far. Mostly WL music, but also the Animation Courtyard loop they played earlier and some Frontierland Music (magnificent seven). I could've sworn that was what was playing in WL when I walked in there the first time to check in 2005.
