~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Tiger - Nice golfing, Skippy. Were you able to get a run in today?

Jodi~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENCH!!! :sail:

I didn't manage a run tonight although I had the best of intentions. I had to pick Cam up at work and drive her to the shop to pick up her car. On the way home, she wanted to go to another VW dealer to look at a possible new ride - the 2009 VW EOS convertible. It is a convertable hard-top with a sunroof. Pretty nice car! We took it for a test drive, but as we were out the storms Lou mentioned rolled towards us. We had to pull over to put the top up and just made it back to the dealer when the monsoon/lightning/ thunder hit. There was no way I could run in that. It is definitely on the schedule for tomorrow! :thumbsup2

Hey Everyone: Just wanted to report my 30 min swog yesterday. My shin is starting to feel better, but I'm going to give it some time to really heal up.

Hey everyBoty!

Working late tonight. Not a bad thing though because it's a thunderin and lightnin outside right now. Hopefully if will finish before I head home. Going to try to put an easy 5 in at 10pm.

Best wishes to all.

Chester

Chester - OK, I see your signature lists your upcoming events:faint:. You're a wild man (as evidenced by your avatar) - WISH I was as ambitious! :thumbsup2

Dave - I like the idea of giving that shin som time...Disney's a long way off, you'll be fine.

Lou - Thank you for the Eagles Jersey, I shall do with it as I wish.;)

So get this. On that Feb. cruise we went on they offered a $99 bounceback offer for a 3 day cruise on certain dates. Back in April I signed up my mom, Spencer & my 2 nephews for a cruise next week. Cat. 11 (same as our staterooms back in Feb. We're too poor to be anything but Cat 11 tomb-dwellers). Yesterday I get an email from the TA telling me that they've been upgraded to a Cat. 8!! What the heck? I go on 3 cruises, closet-trolling Cat. 11 every time, my mom goes on 1 cruise & gets a room with a freakin' window!:headache: No balcony, but it's quite the luxury suite compared to what I'm used!!

Jodi~ That's just heinous... you should stow-away.

Chester~ You are a good man (5 miles at 10 PM). I hope they went OK. You are probably out there now.

I lived up to my promise to self and got out there this morning. I am glad I did because I was made aware of a band parent meeting I had to attend at 7 PM and I couldn't have run tonight. I was out of the house around 5:56 AM, [Note: a big deal for this night owl - not a morning person]. I took it very easy, concentrating on the 3 miles and not the time since I am just back from some major knee pain. I ran/walked the three in about 35 minutes. It was so humid I felt like I was draped with a wet army blanket (some of us will know what that would feel like :rolleyes1 ). I managed to run and walk today and not tweek the knee. I am very happy about that! :cool1::banana::dance3::yay::woohoo::cheer2:

I'll get more miles in tomorrow after work, not before I need to be at a board meeting at 7:30 AM tomorrow. :sad2:

Have a great night!

Good Morning Everyone: Did another 30 min swog yesterday. I'm having a good week of training so far. My shin and lower leg is feeling good.

Howard- Nice job on getting out there and getting some miles in. I'm glad your knee is holding up.

Jodi- I can read your excitement in your Mom and Spencer's upcoming cruise. That's so cool that they got upgraded. You're such a good daughter! :thumbsup2 OK, OK, I'm sure your stateroom with a window will come sometime. Hey is Tracy your TA?

Chester- I'm so impressed with you getting out there at 10pm after work. WTG!

Lou- Glad you missed that lightening strike.

Hey Bots,

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

Dave: Good job with the Swogging. Hope the shin continues to improve. Great job at taking it easy at the race and still having a great pace.

Howard: It's great that you got out early for a run. The humidity has been awful lately. I'm glad you were able to get out and use your new clubs again.

Chester: Hope the run went well last night.

Jodi: Belated birthday wishes. Glad to hear it was a good day. Sorry the race conditions were so rough. Good job on sticking it out.

Cindy: Glad you had a good time in Japan. Good job getting back on track with your training. 12 weeks is plenty of time to get in shape.

Lou: You were wise to end your run before the lightning struck. You can make it up on another day.

Jen: Have fun at Hershey Park. I have such fond memories of going there as a kid.

Colleen: Good job getting the whole family out there for 10 miles.

My marathon training continues. It's going OK right now. I've had to skip a speed workout and cut another one short since my son has been sick 2 weeks in a row. I'm trying to figure out how to get my LR in this week since I'm bringing the kids to the beach tomorrow instead of running. School doesn't start back until Sept 9th here, but after that I'm hoping to have a bit more structure.
I'm missing out on all the FB pictures, so I'm going to request you as friends. I won't be terrible offended if you choose to ignore the request since you don't really know me.

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Hey CindyLou- Sorry I missed you on my post. I'd be honored to be your friend. We're already friends here of course. Good luck with the marathon training. My girls don't start back with school until Sept 8th. So we're in the same boat there.

Jen – Have fun in DL. I can’t remember, have you been before, or will this be your first time?

Colleen – thanks again for the help with the hotels.

Jodi – I’m glad that you had a nice birthday. Any trips to Disney this fall? I do have 5 and half more days of pics from Japan (including the day at DisneySea), I'll probably get a few more up this weekend.

Sara – I hope things are going ok for you.

Dave – I hope your shin is continuing to improve! Did you decide on a fall race yet?popcorn:: The ToT has a 5K that Maggie could do . . . Or maybe you should just do Richmond. . .

Chester – I hope that you were able to get your run in last night. I’m with Jodi – I give you a ton of credit for running in FL all summer. This past week has been one of the worst we’ve had and I can’t imagine dealing with it (and worse) for months.

Howard – I’m glad your knee is feeling better. I’m not a morning person, but I’m 100% a morning runner – there are too many things that can distract me throughout the day if I don’t get it in first thing.

Cam - I hope your knee is feeling better.

Lou – Looks like you’ve been putting in a lot of miles recently – great job!:thumbsup2

Cindy – When is your next marathon?

As for me, I ran 6 yesterday morning (I think it was close to 80 degrees and 90% humidity before 6AM) and it really tired me out. Rest day today.

In other (sad) news, apparently my firm has blocked Facebook!! WTH?!? How am I supposed to get my quick 5-minute time waste now? Good thing they don’t know about the Disboards . . .

Hey Everyone: I just posted a blog about the Expedition Everest Challenge. This was about my experience last year - as well as what is going to be new in the race this year. Let me know what you think. There's some familiar faces in the pictures.

Cindy- Great job on the 6 miles. Your firm did what??? How are we going to get the rest of the Japan pictures?

Dave - Great blog! That was a really great race and weekend. I'm hoping that I have as much fun this year at ToT.

Don't worry, the pics are on my home computer, not my work computer. (If they were on my work computer, they would have been posted a long time ago - I'm very easily distracted by things that delay me getting any actual work done.)

Thanks Cindy- That was a lot of fun. I wish I had a picture of you and Matt too. Was that the first time we actually met face to face. What was the name of your speedster friend I ran with for the first 10 seconds of the race, and then we rode Expedition Everest together?

Yeah, it was.

Rhodri. He is coming down with us again for ToT (along with his wife, 10 month old baby, mom, sister, and niece (who will turn 5 on the trip)).

Rhodri, he was a nice guy. It'd be nice to see him again.

So you and Matt are doing ToT? Hmmmmmmm... I really need to decide what I'm doing this Fall. I was talking to the people at the Disney Endurance Series, and they told me that this will be the last year for both the Race for the Taste and the Tower of Terror 13k (the official announcement comes out tomorrow). So now I'm curious to experience one of those races before they end.

Really? Damn, I was planning on doing RFTT in 2010. Are they replacing them with something? What about Everest - will they still have that next year?

They didn't say that Everest was going to be done. So my best is they'll have it. They did say they would be replacing RFTT and ToT with something "new and exciting" next Fall, but they weren't ready to announce it yet.

I managed some hot and very sweaty miles this evening.

Miles: 4.0
Time: 38:36
Pace: 9:39

No knee issues to speak of. :confused3 Hopefully it was only one of those 96 hour knee issues. :rolleyes1

I will try to get up in the morning to get a few in also. I am going away tomorrow night to visit my Mom in New Kensington/Pittsburgh and help her out with a major yard project. I am sure it will be considered as cross-training. I am also going to try to get together with my cousins for dinner while I am out there (Michael, Richie, Linda, Debby, Sandy, Angie and Laura). They are all siblings.

Hi Cindylou!

Have a great evening! TGIF!!!!
