~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

For those of you not on FB....wait, everyone here's on FB now, right? I mean, except Mike, but Kathy is & that's who he gets all his information from anyway, so...:rolleyes1popcorn::

Today SUCKED real hard. I ran it in just under 2 hours 10 min (didn't think I was gonna make that "under 10 minute miles" thing this time around) & really suffered the last 3 or so miles. 77 degrees & 74% humidity @ the start. :rotfl:. I mean, really, how silly is that. I felt SO bad for one dude who was pretty much passed out on the side of the road, surrounded by paramedics, right before the 13 miler marker. :headache:. Just an ugly scene everywhere you looked.

But it's over & so is my bugging you all for money for dogs & cats & crap. Thanks for all your support, guys! :grouphug:. Missin' that fall BOT meet :sad2: :confused3.

Colleen - We must have posted @ the same time...NICE job on that 10 miler, :thumbsup2:banana:. NYC, here you come!

Jodi - Nice job on getting it done! I guess there's a reason there aren't very many races in the dead of summer.

Colleen and entire family - Fine job on the 10 miles. :thumbsup2

Dave - The pool running sounds like a good idea for you at this point.

"Hey" to everyone else!

Jodi -- You should be so proud of yourself. I was thinking of you so much yesterday because it was so miserably hot here and I knew it was so much worse where you were, even before factoring in 13.1 miles. Kudos to you for doing that!!!

Great job Colleen! :thumbsup2

Another 30 min swog for me today. I'm feel like I'm starting to get motivated to train for something.

"Hey" everyone!

I am back from some time away down state at a Special Olympics Camp, back to work and back home after a drive to Burlington, NJ tonight. I was supposed to get back to my training plan tonight, but it just didn't happen. Tomorrow it is!

I played hookie from work this afternoon, cutting out at noon for a 1:15 PM tee-time at Deerfield Golf Course in Newark/Pike Creek, Delaware. This was my second time out with my new clubs, I shot 46/41 and managed about 5 pars and 3 birdies on the day. It was hot and humid (like Hades) out there... I drank water like a fish to stay hydrated. I know the temps were in excess of 94 out there today.

My knee hasn't hurt in almost a week. I am going to run on it tomorrow evening and take it easy. Hopefully this heinous pain is finally behind me.

Jodi~ Great effort out there this past weekend! :worship: I have so many runs to catch up on. I am sorely not in shape and need to get there for my fall schedule to happen well or at all.

Colleen~ Great 10 miler!

Lou~ I saw your FB comment about Vick... not sure if I would take a PR hit like they did, but to each his own. Some team was bound to stoop that low, it suits the Philadelphia Eagles to do so. Someone commented on the radio today that they got him for a song compared to what he was paid in Atlanta.

Enjoy your Tuesday! I'll post some stuff tomorrow!

:grouphug:

I finally caught up on the posts that I missed while in Japan and busy working last week!

Cam - I'm so sorry to read about your knee! I hope that the physical therapy is able to get you back to running!

I just updated my signature to include all of my upcoming races.:scared1:

I can't believe that I need to be ready to run a marathon in a little over 12 weeks! I'm pretty disappointed in myself that, although I have remained healthy and injury free over the year, I was in so much better shape at this time last year. Not to mention, about 10 lbs lighter :rolleyes1

I just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone in Botville. The summer has been crazy busy and my time to post has been minimal-- especially since the computer at my office got some kind of virus and refuses to cooperate most of the time.

Cam: Sorry to hear about your knee trouble but congrats on the positive attitude and hard work with PT.

Howard: Glad to hear your bunny knees are hopping again :rolleyes1

Jodi: Congrats on a really brutal sounding race and happy b-day :yay:

Dave: The trip to Williamsburg looks like lots of fun, I've always loved it there and very nearly went to college at William and Mary-- darned costly out of state tuition  It's also really cool that you will be racing with your DD. Hopefully I can interst mine in some racing as she gets a bit older-- right now the kids races are about her speed.

Cindy: Welcome home and good job on starting training again.

As for me-- getting ready for a weekend at Hershey Park for a friend's DS's birthday then packing for DL--- we can't wait :yay::yay::yay:

When did you sign up for Richmond?? Cool!! Matt too??

Jodi, why don't you come down to the armpit of the whatever you called it...it is only a few weeks after NYC. YOu will be ready for a easy 13 miler by then.:thumbsup2

When did you sign up for Richmond?? Cool!! Matt too??

I decided to do Richmond when I decided to do the Goofy - can't remember how long ago that was. (This would be the "why bother train for one marathon when you can train once and do two" theory)

Not sure what Matt's plans are. He is running the full in Baltimore and was thinking of running Richmond if he wasn't happy with how he runs in Baltimore. He made some comment this weekend about not thinking he will be ready for Baltimore, but he did run 20 on Sunday (before I even managed to get out of bed).

).

I have the some thoughts, why not bang out two marathons on one training cycle.:thumbsup2

Do you have a hotel yet?

Do you have a hotel yet?

No, but I need to get on that. Where are you and Jeff staying? Do you know about Mike and Kathy?

Matt and I actually just booked our hotel for Baltimore today and we definitely waited too long on that one and are now paying much more than I had hoped.

Hey guys! Bruce's wife checking in here, thanking you all for the birthday wishes :grouphug: You guys are great (except for Mike. Apparently he not only hates puppies & kittens, but birthdays as well :confused3).

Jen - Hey, how ya been? Still jealous as heck that you're heading out to Disneyland, have a blast!! Let us know if it's worth the trip out there (the parks, I mean).

Mike - Has Kathy let you re-join the vacation yet or are you still home, working @ night & puppy-hunting during the day?

Cam - How's your knee, soldier?

Tiger - Nice golfing, Skippy. Were you able to get a run in today?

Colleen - Hey, troll :upsidedow, WTG on that yoga & weights, stuff. I did some bike riding for CT today. Didn't run yesterday, but will tomorrow a.m. I am not coming down to the armpit of VA for that Richmond shing-ding. I mean, really, Richmond? Blech.

Mindy - I didn't know you were running Richmond, either. Touring the beautiful cities this fall, eh? Baltimore then Richmond?:rotfl:. More Japan Pictures!!! Congratulations on your first post-Japan run, chickie-poo! You'll be ready in 12 weeks, it's good to give yourself a break like you did. Mentally & physically!:thumbsup2

Saraaaa! - What's UP woman??? RU running?, going to Disney in Jan?, what's shakin'???

Dave - How's the swogging going? I really enjoyed your blog. Are you massaging the shins @ all? I'd do the RftT with your daughter....although you could always ask her if she'd rather go to Baltimore!

Chester - I give you credit....running in the heat SUCKS! Please list all of your upcoming running ventures here for me one more time, as I can't keep track.

Quiet birthday - Bruce & I celebrated on Sat. in NYC @ one of our favorite restaurants...tonights dinner was meatloaf :rotfl: (I'll overnight a plate to you, Sara). I was given some really nice gifts & cards & overall had a wonderful day. Thanks, in part, to all your well wishes!! except mike

Happy Birthday Jodi! (as I said on FB...better late than never). Must have been cool hanging out in NYC. You should be getting a brand new Eagles jersey in the mail from me shortly. I got you the hottest shirt in Philly...the one with the #7 Vick on the back!

On the running front...managed to knock out 5 miles tonight and finished about 2 minutes before lightning hit my backyard. I guess my number wasn't up today.

Lou
