Mamu-Welcome Home! I am happy to hear that after the first day your stay got much better.:cool1: Last summer we were in 4204. Like Jackemail said the staff is wonderful.:worship: They are one of the many reasons why we keep coming back. The heat is horrible but like your family we also come from the Northeast and welcomed the heat when we were there a few weeks ago. In fact we came home on 5/17 and didn't see the sun till 5/21.:scared1: On the bus situation, you definately need more time when going to DTD, MK, or the AK. When we leave those places if we see a bus that comes for the BC/YC we hop on that and take the short walk back to the BWI.

I must have just missed you! We stayed in 4211. that IS a very long hallway. We checked out on the 18th. Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits was also staying there. We met him on the Boardwalk, and in the Club lounge. So sorry you were affected by the heat--fellow New Englander here--we are too used to 52 degrees and rain!!! it took me three days to adjust to the 95 degree heat.

Lucky you! I went to a Herman's Hermits concert when I was a kid, and you got to meet him AND stay at BWI...double luck.

I gave up on waiting for DTD buses long ago, from ANY resort. Now we just take a cab and consider it worth the $.

We are back. :sad1:

I put a sad face but I was ready to return home.

BWI CL, first day I hated it, hall are long and I kept getting lost. We had an ADR at T-Rex and waited for 1 hour and 10 minutes for a bus to DTD. After our first bus fiasco we never waited more then 10 minutes for a bus. :thumbsup2

First day over with and I'm starting to learn the lay-out. I think my 1st day impression is all wrong. I love it here. We did not get connecting rooms but they were side-by-side and the did make room keys for both rooms. We were towards the end of the lo---ng hall near ESPN. There were no rooms across from us which made it very quite and we were near the stairs to the quite pool. 4204 and 4206. Rooms were very clean and they did get us a full size crib for DS room plus one for our room.

This was our 5 th CL stay and I rate the staff as the best of all our CL stays. They were the warmest, most friendliest staff and I already miss them. Mousekeeping was the best.

We went down for SWW and it was wonderful, sadly though we hit record high temps and coming from Mass where we have had a cold and rainy spring the heat drains you. On Saturday I ended up getting heat stroke. DHS is a hot park to begin with and the heat index had to be 110. Went to bed with chills and nausea and slept for 15 hours. The staff knew I wasn't feeling well and did everything the could to help. For the rest of the week my stomach was not right and after a few hours in the heat I got light headed. No matter how much I drank it never helped. The staff would make me up plates of foods and drinks that were suppose to help with the lightheadedness, but the damage was done and after a few hours in the heat it returned.

The rest of the family had a wonderful time and loved the resort. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 for BWI and it CL staff. There the best, and we can't wait to return for another BWI stay.
Thanks for posting you're review.

Another Polynesian lover who is defecting for this trip. Please let us know what you think Mamu. My husband and I have had the pleasure of staying at BWI in the past, but this will be our kids' first stay at this resort.
WOW! I hope you love it as much as I do. There are still things I miss about the Poly (room size, view of castle, view of Wishes, Electric Water Pagent, tiki torches) but I do love the BWI and really love CL there.

Love your photos and review. What a great balcony you had!

DH & I have just returned from another wonderful stay at the BWI-CL.:thumbsup2 We brought my Mom with us as this was her first big vacation since my Dad died last year. Boy did she have a blast. DH and I were in 4261 and Mom was in 4259. Our room had a wonderful view of the boardwalk. It had a huge balcony just like turningleaf had. Mom had a nice view of the gardens. She enjoyed herself so much that she cannot stop talking about it. She now understands on why we head there 4x a yr. She loved the cast, the lounge, the food and the fireworks. We got to meet lovesdumbo and her friends. What a treat that was to meet another fellow Dis Board poster.:yay: We never found the lounge to be crowded not like in January when we were there. The resort had a convention going on but they were so quiet. The crowd level was very workable. DH and I are heading to Disneyland in July for the first time with 2 of the Innkeepers cast. Then sfbank and I will go in Oct to celebrate our 4th annual girls trip during food & wine.:cool1:
It was so great to meet you. Your Mom is adorable! So glad she had a nice trip.

I can't wait to go back in August with my family. I got $650 in airline credits when the price of our August flights dropped so I booked another trip with a friend for Veteran's Day.

Hope we meet up in the lounge again. Seems like a good chance we will someday.

There is a chance with that type of room category where you might get a view of the parking lot. So if you had reserved their Garden View you would have a better chance of making sure your room would face the France Pavilion of World Showchase.
I'm pretty sure BWI only has Standard View and Water View for "regular" rooms. That is all that allears, mousesavers or the dis shows rates for.

SO sorry you got sick. I completely understand. I nearly had the same thing happen to me in May 2009. Left MA with temps in the 40s and got to Orlando with temps in the HIGH 90s. I got sick one day but not as bad as you and quickly learned not to let myself get that hot again.

Folks always think I'm crazy for going to WDW in August but I think the heat is easier to take in August when I'm somewhat used to it than it is in May when it can be quite cool in MA. In 2009 it was hotter in May than it was for my August trip.

I didn't realize there was a staircase down that end of the hall. I'll have to try it out this summer for the quiet pool.

So glad to hear that otherwise you loved the BWI. I agree with you-I've stayed CL at Poly & AKL and the BWI staff is just wonderful.

We must have been there together-I was there 5/11 to 5/18.

lovesdumbo- you can count on meeting again. My Mom would like to go back again if all is well with her next year. What a deal in the airfare. I head back in Oct with sfbank for our 4th annual girls trip. Till we meet again.;)

I know that Ron and I will love it as much as you did. We have had the pleasure before. I was more concerned about our kids--I really think they will also enjoy the stay since we will be spending more time at EPCOT and DHS. Thanks for thinking of us and glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. :thumbsup2

You are correct and for whatever reason I thought their Garden View rooms were a category you can reserve, well it turns out I was wrong.

I'm thinking I'll be back for my birthday next May 5/6. I went a week later due to a work conflict with one of my friends. So if I can finish my trip before 5/11 I can go on the same AP.:thumbsup2

I'm sure your kids will love it. So great to be able to walk out of Epcot at night using the International Gateway and practically be in bed before you could have walk out through future world and up the monorail ramp.

I don't know if the BWInn really has any parking lot rooms-or not many anyways as I think the convention center is between the Inn and the parking lot. I've only ever stayed in a CL room at the Inn. I stayed in a studio at BWVillas and that was right over the entrance so pretty much a parking lot view. For my November trip my friend wants to stay BWI which is fine with me but I told her if we stay at the Inn I would have stay CL because I can't be that close and not be able to go the lounge. I would be fine staying at Pop too but just can't stay at BWI without "going home".:rotfl: Can't wait to go back in August with the family! I think we might be arriving on the same day-we are there 8/17 to 8/29.

YAY!!! Lucky you! I'm always a nervous wreck on the bus--until I get to BWI. HAVE A BLAST!! (and be careful of the heat--hydrate!!)

The heat has been the worst part. We are so not used to 90 plus degrees and 80 plus percent humidity. Ughhhh.

Have a great trip!!! I'd love to know what's on the activities schedule for the resort -- I know about the boardwalk games and entertainers... but I'm curious if they have any other special activities at the resort, the pool, or I heard there are outdoor movies/campfire? at the Beach Club.

I wasn't planning on park hopping but was reconsidering so we could take a quick walk over to Epcot and grab a drink and hear some evening entertainment when not at MK (waterparks, AK, and HS close early most nights at 5 or 7). But if there's enough fun to be had at the resort, we will just stay there those evenings and not bother with Epcot. We have 2 days out of 8 already planned for Epcot.

The boardwalk seems like a great resort. We always loved the boardwalk at Ocean City, MD and Cape May, NJ (smaller), and Wildwood, NJ during the 60s, 70s, and 80s -- our family went there every year many times.

I scanned in the activities sheet for you, I hope this helps....

I just wanted to check in and say again how much we are looking forward to staying here for the first time in Oct. for F & W Festival. Just me and my two adult DDs(25 & 29) in a lovely studio. *sigh* :cloud9:

Thank you very much for the activities schedule! Did you do any? What did you like? Were the boardwalk entertainers out every evening dng the juggling, magic, comedy etc ?

It was so darn hot, we did not do anything on the boardwalk, I thought I was going to melt....
