Does anyone know the name of the plate spinner performer on the boardwalk? He wears the black and white striped pants. Thank you in advance! :hippie:

I'd like to know his name and the magician that does the incredible card tricks with audience participation (picture below). What do some of the other boardwalk entertainers do? The plate spinner also did some fun stuff with kids. Here's a link.

Don't walk behind him during his show or you'll be IN his show! :rotfl:

Staying in waterfront room at BWI. I was told all waterfront rooms have balconies, none are ground floor. Is there a lock or latch high up so DS6 doesn't wander out there alone if I'm in the shower or asleep. I know a 6 yr old can understand rules about not going there alone, but I worry about things like this.

All of their rooms with balconies have two locks on the doors which lead out to them.

Just saw that it was 15th birthday of the Boardwalk Resort..... How cool, I got to stay here in May. Sad, I saw nothing announcing it was the 15th year...

We left late Sunday afternoon and didn't see anything special acknowledging the upcoming day. :confused3

In the past when the various resorts have had anniversary's such as 5 years, 10 years and etc they came out with limited editon pins to mark the occasion. Well I have several of those types of pins from the Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian and the Boardwalk. So I wonder if they came of one for it's 15th Anniversary?

I wanted the pin also, since I was just there I thought it would be special, so I looked on ebay and never saw anything... so if you find one please post it...

Thanks for checking. I will not be back until October so they might be gone by then.
Well if a pin was released there is a chance they might still be there in October. Over the past few years Pin Trading at WDW is nothing like it was in the early to mid 2000's where all the limited edition pins would sell out very fast. Today it takes limited edition pins months to sell out before the Cast Members are told to stop selling them.

I was at BWV in May for memorial day and could not find the memorial day pin anywhere so I come home check eBay and there are a bunch on there below retail. So i ordered one and am happy.

Well unless it's a pin specifc to the Boardwalk they don't sell any of the other limited editon pins over there, they only sell the rack pins oped edition pins. To find limitied editon you need to go to other stores like Disney's Pin Traders in Downtown Disney Marketplace and the main pin stores in the 4 parks. Finally the only resort store to sell limited edition pins is the Fantasia Store at the Contemporary.

Yeah, I looked a DTD and the parks for the Memorial Day pin and it was no where that I could find.

My sister and I have a trip planned for June 8-16, 2012 with her 4 children. They will be 7,5,2,1 when we go. My only other trip was CR November 2010, which I loved. We did do a short offsite trip for a shuttle launch 3 years ago and walked around BW one day just because my sister had heard about it and wanted to see it. We had planned to do a 1BR AKV next year which I was very excited about. However, we can save approx. $1500 by staying in a deluxe room and she loved the boardwalk so now we may end up staying at BWI.

We were pretty set on AKV but last night we somehow maybe decided to for sure switch to BWI?? I see pros and cons to staying there and wanted to ask opinions of others who've stayed there what they would do in our shoes.

Cons-we lose full kitchen not being in villa, 1BR villa at BW won't accomodate us, no dedicated counter service to feed 4 kids breakfast before parks, clowns kinda creep me out. That's the big things I see.

Pros-we will save $1500 which would pay for all travel expenses (we drive) and lots of fun extras for the kids, I love the idea being able to walk to Epcot to eat, I love the pics turningleaf posted of that huge balcony. I can so see myself sitting out there with the kids.

I have already changed my signature to BWI for next year :) and I know I can be content there and $1500 may push me into pure happiness...
