Anyone on this thread have an opinion on the Nintendo Wii system
We lucked into purchasing one for my DS (13) but now I'm not so sure about it. He has a PS2, GBA, DS at home and a GC at grandmas so it's not like he doesn't have a game system
However this is a totally new thing. We got to try a couple games at the mall this weekend at a 6 way mall display and it was neat.
Not sure what to do though
I love my Wii.

I'm having a great time with it! I stopped playing the Zelda games when they went 3-D because I just didn't like all the button mashing and such...but wow, I'm having so much fun playing the new one. It's so simple - you control the movement with the nunchuck in one hand, and use the remote in the other hand. It's so natural.
I've also had a very large variety of people try out Wii sports - including some senior citizens who couldn't get enough of it. I have people that haven't played anything more complicated than an Atari game or can barely use an ATM kicking my butt at bowling, LOL. It's really fun to get several people playing at once. The controllers are getting very hard to find (just got a call from Dell that mine are delayed until at least the 18th), but if you can get one extra one you can play multiplayer on all the Wii sports games.
It's really a hoot for everyone - I'm addicted to bowling. I also signed for the Gamefly rental service and already got my first games so I'm not spending $50 a whack to try out new ones, since none of my local rental places carry them yet. I've got Zelda and Marvel Alliance now - I'm going to buy Zelda I like it so much, but I think Marvel may just be a rental for me for now (great game though). (And, as I posted above -
if anyone wants to sign up with Gamefly, please send me a PM first so I can send you my friend code; I'm trying to earn a DS Lite for someone special.)

Are there any zelda games for the DS. My DS asked santa for the Phantom Hourglass - but this does not appear to be available until 2007 even though the Nintendo website has a trailer of the game running with "2006" as its release date.
Actually, it was confirmed in the last day or so that Phantom Hourglass won't be out until at least Oct 07, sadly. Like all Zelda games, it's being delayed LOL.
There aren't any DS Zelda's, but there is a GBA one that is a remake of the original A Link to the Past, the best SNES game ever made. I believe it's called "Four Swords Adventures" or something like that. Great game, and can be played on the DS of course.
If your son likes Zelda games, he might enjoy either the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game, or the new Dragon Warrior game. Both are pretty immersive games with RPG elements.
Good luck!
