The Battle For My Wallet III: The Smell of Free Dining (Addendum, pg 34)

I hate people arriving all happy when I'm going home too! Especially when I know they are probably going to miss loads because they can't possibly have planned as well as I have! :teeth:

Now I've got nearlyovefreud because there's only one part left :sad2:

"We headed to the Contemporary so our kids could ride the Monorail again. We valet parked the vehicles and went up to the fourth floor and pulled up some chairs in the Outer Rim Lounge. Isn’t that where all parents take their toddler children? Actually, I wrongly thought the Outer Rim also served coffee. My wife who has been to Disney World half as many times as I have and who has NEVER read these stupid boards kept telling me that you could only buy coffee from the espresso bar by the front desk. Imagine my chagrin when we got to the Outer Rim and discovered she was right and I was wrong. I was horrified. What does it mean when a true Disney Nerd gets outnerded by his wife? I looked to the east because I knew Jesus’ return was imminent."

That is quite possibly the funniest line in a trip report I have ever read. What an incredibly talented writer you are! I have had more than a great time reading your reports. I even have copied and pasted them into Word so that I can read them when I need a good laugh - or a Disney fix. Especially the Surrey Bike episode - truly hysterical.

Thanks so much for some good fun - it is obvious you are busy with things OTHER than Disney, like providing for your family. Yet you continue to post these trip reports that I have enjoyed so much I feel sad that they are coming to an end. Don't be a stranger - even if you have to make up a trip!!

Thanks for the great report! I am sad it's almost over. Perhaps its TripReportafreude.

Not only was the soup wonderful, but it was made by one of the truly great soup artisans of our time.

NO SOUP FOR YOU!

That's my all time favorite Seinfeld episode ever, BTW.

Great installment. What will we do with ourselves when your trip report is over?????? :guilty:

I laughed, I cried, I'm now sad :sad2: Please go on another trip so we will always have a ZZUB trip report to read.

I'm going to print your report so my dad can read it too....uh, not in the bathtub tho...just while sitting in a recliner. ;)

Chapter Thirteen:

While I was standing there drinking from the Mug of Life; a Magical Express bus pulled up and began to unload. I hated those people. Those stupid people with their strollers and carry on bags, clutching their little travel folders filled with confirmation numbers and trip itineraries. They were salt in my wound; the final insult. Despite my scowl, they looked so happy; so filled with joy and anticipation for the days ahead. I hated them more. If schadenfreude is enjoying the bad fortune of others, I was experiencing Disneyfreude: feeling bad because other people were happily arriving at Disney World.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I can definitely relate...as if its just not fair!

ZZUB...what are we going to do? :confused3

Ok people, the jig is up...we have to take up a collection, Zzubs gotta go back, Im already having withdrawls. Oh, dont act like I am the only one, you all know that you feel the same way!!! :sad2: You all know that you have to have your fix. Well, at least Vettechick's not done with her report yet, if she could get out of the tub, stumble over to the computer and save the day! :woohoo: We will miss ya Zzub!!!

I hate it too when I am leaving and everyone else is arriving. They are all so disgustingly happy! ;)

I think we should start a Disneyfreude club. ZZUB can be our leader!!! :cheer2:

I will never, ever look at Disney World quite the same again! I have visions of my upcoming trip this fall....Will my youngest son mysteriously catch and lose a mood in the front of the Monorail?....Will I experience Disneyfreude while I am taking my last coffee walk of the week? (that's me in this family...up early to "take it all in" on a walk to get coffee)....Will the register journal suddenly appear while I'm buying cold drinks on Main Street?!!

Yep, you need another trip cuz we need more reports!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

First, some housekeeping: A big: You Totally Rock, Dude! to Javamom for the sweet avatar she created for me. I’ve never met you; never had a conversation with you and wouldn’t know you if you walked into my study right now. But you’re good people. The avatars you created for me, for Vettechick and Mel Happyhaunt are really cool. I sincerely appreciate the time you spent doing that for me. And Javamom, don’t worry about finding a new job and being able to take your family to Disney World. We reap what we sow in this life, and you have sown generosity. Surely God has observed that. Fear not.

Awww shucks, thanks. Glad you like it! I started to make you a "no hooches" one, but then got inspired by the whole wallet epic.

As for my job hunt, it is going fairly well. I have had a few interviews, but nothing that I am terribly excited about. However, I do have one next week that I am excited about. Hopefully, it will pan out? I have zero doubt that there is somewhere that I am supposed to be, it is just a matter of finding it.

:thumbsup2 THANK YOU For some much needed laughs! I was having a horrible, rotten day...then I read your updated trip report and got some great laughs! Thanks!

WOW! I have never been much of a trip report reader(until it gets closer to my own trip, as I tend to experience DISreportfreude...which means I am really, totally undeniably ticked that someone has just spent a week at WDW, whilst I still have several months to go)....but I got started on Princess Aurora's, then HAD to read a trip report involving grubbin and boozin'...and now, here I am.
Your trip reports have left me laughing to the point of tears and also in tears to the point of laughing. POR is also HOME to my family. Never had a bad room, love the food court, DH and I love the coffee walk. How easy it is to stop on a bridge, look out over the Sassagoula on your last day and wonder if it's possible that the next twelve months can go fast enough to get you back home again(except in my case, I also wonder if they can go slow at the same time, cause even though I have a 2.5 yo DD, technically I'm middle-aged and....oh SHUT UP...no one wants to hear it)(see..I also have voices from unknown places yelling at me)...

ANYWAY,
I so relate to your emotional side of the report. You describe it like I feel...everytime I'm there, everytime I leave.

Besides that these reports are freakin' hilarious!

You have told me things I already knew about the great magical world of Walt, but beyond that you have taught me many more meaningful things...

That ND is a MUST SEE
That there are people out there who actually think Maelstrom stinks
That its darn hot in FL sometimes
That I was right about not wanting to see the stunt show at MGM
And most of all..
That the coming of Jesus is imminent(Dadgummit,do I at least have time to shower?)

Okay..I'm talking too much.
Thanks for a great report.... :thumbsup2

Great report

Entertaining and well worth the waits

But what was the damage of the "free" dining !! :confused3 :confused3

OK..I'm on a roll- posted on another trip report thread earlier and now yours. I read alot ...just don't post much.

Actually I have been wanting to tell you this for years- Your original trip report was what got me started on this site. My family had just returned from our first trip and somehow I found this site. I read your report one night while all others were asleep and I found myself laughing hysterically! I told the hubby all about it... I'm not sure he gets my obsession with reading this stuff...I just tell him "pay no attention, it gets me to Disney without costing you a dime!"

Thank you, thank you, for sharing your wonderful gift.

When we were kids and my parents were married, we went to Disney World at least once a year, and frequently more than once. We almost always stayed at the Days Inn. However, one year, we stayed at the Polynesian Village. It was one of our favorite trips and everyone in my family has strong memories from that trip.

That's weird -- I also have very strong memories of the one night my family spent at the Poly in the late 70s (as opposed to the usual Days Inn). My parents were still married, all seemed right with the world. Hey .... you're not my brother, are you? No, wait a minute, he's not a lawyer...
