The Battle For My Wallet III: The Smell of Free Dining (Addendum, pg 34)

I know some people think this "clogs" up the trip reports but I really appreciate when people post their thoughts on what I've written, and I like to respond to a few of you.

MazdaUK: I don't know how you do it, you must have spyware loaded on my computer, but you always seem to post the first response. I appreciate the nice things you say.

Tissa and miller2470: I wish we had another trip planned. What will I do in my free time if I'm not writing a trip report? Maybe I can start a business writing reports for other people?

Nicolemarie: Thank you very much. I appreciate that you think my writing is worth reading. I try to write the kind of stuff that I want to read. It encourages me that other people like to read the same stuff.

gottagodisney: That is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me. I appreciate that you posted that here. You made my day.

mickeymousemom: I'm glad to hear that you like POR as well. You should read LaLa's report; she's a big PORiversider, too.

Alice28: It blesses me to know that something I've written has lightened someone else's load. I had a crappy day yesterday, too. I hope you realize that what you wrote lightened mine.

I'm working on the final chapter now. It should be posted soon.

I've laughed so hard I peed my pants, twice. You would think a grown woman would know better... for the love of Mickey Mouse... take a break and go to the bathroom!!!! :confused3 :rotfl2:

Not an option ... because, why? These posts might disappear? ZZUB might post while I'm away? I didn't find this until TODAY, could I not space the time and read them slowly... NO!!!

I'm on a mission... Here, ZZUB, the KING of trip reports and two QUEENS as well... how can one NOT be mesmerized and have dreams of "if only I can be as funny" and "how do I get the masses to love me too"?

Alas, I haven't even gone on our dream trip yet... but somehow, I know I'll be standing in the "cross" for the fireworks at MK, I won't tell my DS (6) that McDonalds in Epcot (Center) has hamburgers, I'm cancelling my LeCellier ressie and need to figure out a replacement and I must give ND another chance.... oh the wonderful things I've learned today.

Thank you ZZUB - and if I ever need a lawyer my first question for them will be "Do you like Disney?" If not, they will NOT get my business! :lmao: You've spoiled me!! Thanks again for sharing! :woohoo:

Is that what "people" mean when they say the trip report board is for trip reports and not conversations? I was sort of tickled by a thread that said that. That was the topic of the thread, not a trip report at all...

I think at least 1/3 of the laugh out load moments on this and threads like it, come from the reply/respond posts that happen inbetween the report posts.

I wish we had another trip planned. What will I do in my free time if I'm not writing a trip report? Maybe I can start a business writing reports for other people?

I think it is high time you started planning another trip. What is the hold up? But if you run out of things to do feel free to rewrite my trip report. You know, you could funny it up a little, as vettiechick says. I really should be working on it right now. We haven't even made it into a park yet. Stop distracting me....

ZZUB,

You are so welcome. I finally decided to respond because I would give back some of the good vibes you create with your writing. I am not sure which angle I like best...the quest to keep as many $ from floating out of the wallet(this reminds me of my hubby) or the insanity (from normally adjusted people) that happens to people when at WDW. My favorite was probably the "invisible stroller" thing -too good! You are a kindered spirit!

ZZUB. I'm going to attempt to be serious for a minute. Your sentiment to Javamom was awesome. Thank you. A big part of the reason I'm a HUGE (not just Huge) fan of yours is that I can tell "you're good people" too. Besides being a fantastic writer, smart and funny... you're a good man, husband and father. I can tell. I CAN. Thanks for this trip report. I'm sad that it's almost over. Very.

Thirteen was "Olympic Gold" as usual. And... I'm going to steal the "Hanging Envelope of Death". I think. Yep. Gone. Don't feel too bad about Disneyfreude and SchadenDisneyfreude. Everyone else feels it too. You've just named it for all of us now. Please plan another trip for your family. Or write about anything you like on this board. Even mindbogglingly boring lawyer and football stuff. Heh, heh. Anyway: Mulligatawny! Two tables! Mulligatawny! Twice... 'cause it was so nice. MulligaZebrathingie!!!! Ha, ha, ha!

Again... I feel the crazy need to set myself on fire for you:
pixiedust: pixiedust:

Twice.

I love, love, love your trip reports! You made me laugh, you brought a tear to my eye and you made me remember why I love going to disney with my family.

Thanks for the great report!

THANKS ZZUB. Your reports are flippin' sweet! It never ceases to amaze me at how alike all of us Disney freaks are.

I can't believe you name dropped Robert "small and bitter" Reich in your report. You are too funny.

ZZUB

Just wanted to say I have enjoyed your report TREMENDOUSLY! You have a very sharp wit, and seem like such a great family guy! If only they gave out Pulitzers for DIS board trip reports...

Keep up the good work! You and Mel Happyhaunt have kept me sane in between taking care of the kids, the house, my DH, my job, AND studying for the LSAT. Thanks for the laughs!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Day 4 - I've stayed up WAY too late every night this week reading Zzub's incredible trip report. Have loved every minute of it and aspire to be half the writer he is....or maybe just be a cage fighter.

Zzub, you've got skills! (Writing skills, fathering skills, lawyering skills....gosh!)

so this is what a teacher does on her first day of Spring Break... :surfweb:

I finished Zzub's AND Happyhaunt's reports...
(good golly woman...I was takin' a bath tonight and started to name my own family "The PhilharFamily"...)see pic below...
so this is what a teacher THINKS about on Spring Break...and here DH thought I would get some laundry done...the girls thought they'd get some quality time... "AS IF!!" (so sorry if Cluless is not in the same coolness category as Seinfeld...I guess I am to Universe of Energy as Zzub is to Soarin'...in the first row...with no extra waiting...)

I am also at the end of LALA's thread and Vettechicks thread SOOOO...what shall I do until my mini-spring break vacation????

Oh yeah...I can go back and read the other Battles for My Wallet... :sunny:

Zzub I have to admit that even though I often display a :rotfl2: ...for the most part I really am not....but your reports are wonderful...entertaining...and inspiring....thank you for taking the time to share...
And for the record, my dh would be one of those rack rate idiots you were refering to as he actually used the words "value vacation, Disney, and Polynesian" in the same sentence....coinsidence?? I think not. It is all part of my Disneywife marketing Strategy...
and on a final, more serious political note:
Pedro for Pres "06

God Bless :sunny:

So, Zzub, what is the O-fficial term for "jonesing for an Epilogue?" Hmm, can we get a ruling on this? Oh wait, you're not a judge... strike that from the record please. Ok instead of a ruling can we get an Epilogue?

:rolleyes1

I am just now reading your report and just finished the "register journal" incident. I am dying!! :rotfl2:

Allyson

ZZUB,

You are the master, no, not of your domain, (well, maybe that too, but that's none of our business), but of Disney trip reports! Reading all these recent posts has me taking a trip down memory lane, to the first ZZUB report and the "Hilton Sisters" at the Crystal Palace. :rotfl2: The first time I've felt it necessary to call my husband into the room to read over my shoulder! And yours are still the only reports he'll agree to read. Thank you for yet another great report, and for entertaining us in such a witty, creative way!

Your epilogue (AND your next trip) are anxiously awaited!!

ZZUB,

I'm setting up "my family's" first trip, went with my wife in '99 and my family twice before, but never on-site, never eating in the park. (I come from a long line of economically minded cheapskates.) The only question I have for you as an experienced traveller of the World is, Which way to the cheesesteaks?

Thanks for all the entertainment.

...HBO Comedy was showing Napoleon Dynamite!!!! Only caught the last 1/2 hour or so but NOW I get Vote for Pedro! :rotfl: I've gotta see if they're showing it again, or find it at the video store or something.... My DH has also read the Great Zzub Trip Reports or he'd have thought I was nuts getting so excited over coming across this movie - nearly knocked the remote out of his hands trying to get him to go back two channels!
