Does anyone know how many Grand Villa's there are at BLT? & are they just for DVC members?
I am not sure exactly how many they have, however since non DVC members can stay at Bay Lake Tower if the Grand Villas were available then you could reserve it. Although I am just guessing that they get reserved way in advance by DVC members, so either way I think they are hard to reserve.

Carrie in AZ, that's what I was afraid of. Maybe they are mainly in the handicap-ready rooms?

Our daughter sleeps in our bed and while we used to have a queen when she was smaller, a king fits us all with plenty of room. I guess I'll sleep in one bed with her and my husband can have his own bed. At least our bedhog of a cat won't be there to take up space!!:lmao:

I kind of like having two beds anyway for room for laying out clothing or changing her diaper. I'm like a liquid - my stuff expands to fill any void!!

Thankyou for replying, yeah i gathered there isn't very many - my Mother asked me so i thought i'd ask on here.

I saw a list of the rooms on this thread when I was looking for room views. Maybe this will help you a little.:confused3

Thankyou! Looks like there's 14 Grand Villa's. :thumbsup2

I've been looking at photos and videos of CR on youtube and it's getting me excited! Also, how do I get to the monorail from CL? I read that it was confusing so I thought I'd ask the experts! :)

It's easy peasy, Hannah! From any Tower room you simply take the elevator down to the 4th floor concourse. A few steps away from the elevators is the escalator which you take right up to the monorail.

I love those videos, too. They really give you a great idea of what it "feels" like to stay at all the WDW resorts. Has your Gramma seen any yet?

I'm glad it's easy! I don't want to get lost. :rotfl:

They do! CR looks wonderful and I can't wait to stay there! :goodvibes I don't think my gramma has seen any yet. I may have to show her some of the videos if I get the chance to. I see her Monday and Tuesday for Passover so maybe I will get the chance to show her some. :)

I also noticed there are different colored monorails. (One has a blue stripe, one has a black stripe, etc.) What do those stand for? Do the colors pertain to a certain park or place? I don't want to get on say a blue stripe monorail if it goes to Epcot when I'm trying to go to MK.

I agree that those videos are great to watch whenever I need my Contemporary fix.

Honestly the different colored Monorails don't mean they are for specifc locations. So if you when you get on the Resort Monorail and it's Blue then that's the one which arrived. Then at the TTC when going to the Epcot Monorail it will go there and it doesn't matter which colour they use.

Thanks for posting that information and it sounds like a lot of fun.

That's good! I was worried I had to wait for certain colored monorails. So the colors are just for show? I'm hoping the Tronorail will be there when I arrive! I want to ride on it so bad!

From today's AllEars newsletter:

REMINDER: Due to the anticipated holiday crowds, on April 24 the parking lots at the Contemporary Resort, the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the Polynesian Resort will be restricted to only those staying at the resort, attending a convention event at the resort or with dining, recreation or spa reservations.

I remember the Contemporary was basically on lockdown as one Cast Member told me in August 2006 when they had two major conventions going on during on of my previous stays over there.

I also wonder if this was announced because the Contemporary along with the Polynesian or Grand Floridian was having problems with guests who parked in their lots and went to the Magic Kingdom. I can't remember this ever being told in advance before any of the other major holidays.

That makes sense to me.

They're also enforcing the use of the Volcano Pool by Poly guests by checking IDs at the pool and even on the beach. I think that and the parking should be enforced all the time. It's particularly important though during periods of very high anticipated attendance levels.

I completely agree with this!! DH and I just had someone tell us the other day that they usually just park at the CR and walk to MK...they never have to pay to park:rolleyes: All I could say was....'hmmmm...interesting'.

Just got back yesterday and we noticed a LOT of families returning to the BLT parking lot after the fireworks and packing into their vehicles......all makes sense now...
