Liessa Loved the pix of your house !! BUT that wallpaper:scared1: Your description of ToT was hysterical!!But not enuff to make me reserve a room!!!:lmao:

Maroo . loved the insight into Noah and family !!:cloud9::hug:

I love this update!!!!!!!!!! :love::love:

You are putting my TR to shame, I might add. I think the problem is I didn't put the disclaimer at the beginning of my TR this time- you know, the one that states I am NOT a writer. :upsidedow

I hope every ride you went on has an update like this... we'll be reading this TR for years!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

So, what's the trick on capturing the redneck ride photos? Mine never turn out. I make a bad redneck, I guess :goodvibes
Make sure your flash is off and hold the camera VERY still. :goodvibes

Oh, and the words in Hotel California are, "you can check out any time you want, but you can never leave." :)
So not only are you Mr. Quotation, you are Mr. Song Lyrics too????? :confused3 ;)

Hey All,

We just had our neighbors over for the first time, the ones closest to us in age, and interests, and lifestyle, and we had a great time! Fun getting to know folks kind of like us.

Anyway, no time to comment now; need to give my hubby some well-deserved attention. But, I can say, that I DO know the lyrics to the Eagle's greatest hit, and will change my typo tommorow. I was hung up on "check-in" I guess from the last update.

See you all in the morning!! If you think about it, keep Mike in your thoughts for that interview in the morning!

Thanks!!

I feel a WHOLE lot more settled after last night! We kind of worked at arranging the furniture in our formal living room and it is starting to come together. Tonight my neighbor is comign over with a bottle of wine and she'll help me give another eye to it all. After we get done with the bottle, who knows WHAT my living room will look like. :rolleyes1

Sounds like a great plan! :thumbsup2 Is this the neighbour who is in the wine business? I remember that you mentioned one just after you got back home... :goodvibes

I loved your ToT update! You put so much creativity in your updates, they are really wonderful to read. Did you really stay in the library for three pre-shows? I never thought of doing that. I guess I am always way too eager to get on the ride, but I really must do that next time.

Was this your first time on ToT? It sounded a bit like you really did not know what was going to happen. :goodvibes

Love the natatorium.

I thought you would! Was quite proud of myself that I figured out that it was a swimming pool!

the pool at my university in Flagstaff, AZ was actually called that- so I knew what this was when I saw it- then realized I am older that dirt! It's been a long, long time since I've used that word! :lmao:

You shouldn't have told us that - I would have thought that you are just a Latin scholar, "nare" means to swim in Latin. :thumbsup2

Very cool website, Camille!! I will give it a more thorough look-see soon, and pass it onto the dance group's organizer and of course, my daughters!!!

I'm glad you like it. I was stumbling around on the net trying to find out if they have those dances here and found this right off the bat, I figured you would love looking at it if for no other reason than patterns.

Every once in a while the humor pops out, and still surprises me every time. Much like the sweaty, hairy chest of the bus man.

Happens to us all! <said in her best Flo-Progressive Insurance-vioce> ;)

Well, so many of you asked to see our new place on the Willamette River just outside of Salem, OR, I have indulged you and uploaded a few pictures. Please excuse the messy appearance, as we haven't really put things away or unpacked yet!:

Here's the front as you drive up from the street:

Christmas2010009.jpg

Love! Love! Love this place for you! I'm totally loving the paint choices, it gives it such character. :goodvibes I'm with you on the wallpaper, I don't think it will be that exspensive to take down and paint. You probably already know this, but....what ever you do....don't paint over it! :scared1:

love that song!!! LOVE Veggie Tales!!! :)
Oh wherrrrrrrrrrrrrre is my tshirt? Oh, wherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre is my tshirt? Oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where, oh wheeeeeerrrrrreeeee.... is my tshirt?!?!?!
lol

Girl! I love you!! :rotfl2: You crack me up.

This day, back in Feb of 2009, was one of the best days of my life - I loved being at GKTW with this family. We had a great time!

When I found out his family would be in Disney at the same time I would during this trip…it was a no brainer that we would just HAVE to meet up!

So we did!!!

I'm so glad you got to see this family again. I'm glad the people you rented the chair from were really great to you, it helps when your dealing with issues to begin with. I hope the rental place lasts out being good to people, I want to use them when I go in 2013 with my mom.

Perhaps our state motto will sway you.

Delaware: So Close To Where You'd Rather Be. :thumbsup2

 This actually made me LOL!!! Mark, your a lot of fun.

Maroo - so sorry about the computer but woo-hoo for a MAC! Jason says we are never getting a non-MAC again!

I am so happy you got to see Noah's family again and that they got to go to WDW again! I will never forget them and of course we always have the special smilie on the DIS to remind us of Noah :littleangel:. I would love to see the paver that was bought for him at GKTW some day.

Liesa - Maroo, Liesa, Camille and anyone else that is interested- if you have time, watch FB starting Saturday for updates from me of our WDW trip. I plan to post pics and updates via my iPhone. If anyone else is interested, feel free to friend me on FB - Jennifer Baney.

Thanks girl! I hope I can keep up with it! I'm bad about getting on sometimes. :guilty: Have an amazing trip sweet lady!!!

I swear I'm moving to Florida if the opportunity ever arises.

I'm going with you. ::yes::

Keep Portland weird. (Really, that one was semi-official.

This is an official one for Austin, and trust me....Austin lives up to it too! :sad2: This is one crazy aaaaaaaussstin, <smacking head> keep it family friendly, keep it family friendly Camille. :goodvibes

LOVE it!!! Awesome job spotting those hidden mickeys. So, what's the trick on capturing the redneck ride photos? Mine never turn out. I make a bad redneck, I guess :goodvibes

Naaaa, it takes practice to be a good redneck and a little persistance....maybe that goes without saying when you mention being a redneck? Just like Tim said....no flash and try to hold really, really still. Liesa mentions something that works too, taking lots until you get what you want. This is how I figured out how to take them.

Love the house! The wallpaper is definitely unique. :thumbsup2

Loved the details of ToT. After only 2 rides, I really haven't seen even a small portion of the them.

See you all in the morning!! If you think about it, keep Mike in your thoughts for that interview in the morning!

Thanks!!

Good luck to Mike!

Also, a wonderful update! I love the fact that you noticed a sign that said, "Natatorium". I actually had to look it up to know what it meant.:rolleyes1 Very cool, old fashion vocabulary! Not only are you entertained on these trip reports, but you learn so much!:goodvibes

I'm glad your stay ended up being better than it started out.

There is one family that I have met twice…once when their beautiful boy was alive…and again after they had let him go. :sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1: Meeting them both times was so special to me.

This is their child, Noah…

Kailyn and Joshua got along so well! They were so sweet to each other and to Noah - extra special, honestly. It would be sooooo easy for siblings of a very sick child to be spoiled, stressed or just quiet…but these two kids were such a blast to hang around with!

Noah was just laughing and laughing!

This day, back in Feb of 2009, was one of the best days of my life - I loved being at GKTW with this family. We had a great time!

Noah passed away in July of 2009. :(
What a great story about Noah and his family, and so sad for their loss of this precious child! Thanks so much for sharing and so glad you got to meet with them again! :goodvibes
I met them at the Magic Kingdom. On the way there, I did call my friend Sarah back - since I had basically hung up on her after the shirt incident. She was feeling much better about her situation already. It is always difficult to have real life hit you when you are in Disney!
Laughing again about your Liesa Greeting! :rotfl2:
I just love the fall decorations at the MK!!
My next goal for travelling during a different season is to see those fall/halloween decorations!!!

Liesa, really cool TR update on your "hotel" stay! :cool1: Glad they gave you the royal treatment! Nice you had Tate along for the fun.

I think the one time I rode ToT on our trip was probably the most fun ride experience I've had on there! I was laughing the whole time, and actually applauded the variation the "staff" created for us. :yay:
Your description of ToT was hysterical!!But not enuff to make me reserve a room!!!:lmao:
Rosie, The Hollywood Tower Hotel is not what you think. That sign said Natatorium and you're more suited for a stay at the Sanatorium!!! :rotfl2:
I hope every ride you went on has an update like this... we'll be reading this TR for years!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:
That is exactly what I was thinking!!! One chapter update per ride and she might be able to drag this out until she actually has another trip planned..... :rolleyes1
Oh, and the words in Hotel California are, "you can check out any time you want, but you can never leave." :)
So not only are you Mr. Quotation, you are Mr. Song Lyrics too????? :confused3 ;)
Not so fast with the credit! He may be Mr. Quotation, but he doesn't have a prayer on Mr. Song Lyrics. :sad2: As someone who loves the Eagles music and the Hotel California album, I have sung that song hundreds of times. As I pointed out in my TR, it was the first 8 track I bought when my first car had an 8 track player in it.

The lyrics are actually "you can check out any time you LIKE, but you can never leave."
Anyway, no time to comment now; need to give my hubby some well-deserved attention.
TMI! TMI!
See you all in the morning!! If you think about it, keep Mike in your thoughts for that interview in the morning!

Thanks!!

Good luck to Mike!!! :thumbsup2 Even if this isn't his most preferred offer!!! ;)

I have become a lurker. I admit it. I read and don't respond.

I can't keep up. :lmao:

I did want to say though, and I've said it before, Maroo, it takes a special kind of person to be what you have been to these families, Lauren's, Noah's...I'm always in awe of how much love you have to give.

Whoopee, first state. Your ancestral delegates just happened to be free the day the Constitution was signed.

Well, we do get credit for being the fastest riders. So we have that going for us, which is nice.

Oregon's motto: Welcome to Oregon, now leave.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Even Starlets need a place to find rest and relaxation. And soon it was time to check into my place to find both- or so I thought!! This place was reputed to be the most exotic and swanky place in Hollywoodland, and I was lucky enough to snag a reservation first thing during my stay!

Gee... lucky you... :scared1:

Surely a place that has a “natatorium” must be THE place to find the social company one needs to climb to the top of Hollywoodland elite.

They can't just say "swimming pool"? I'm getting a bad vibe from this place. Obviously very snobby.

Tate softly whispered in my ear, “I think we somehow got ripped off! Did you book this with AirSuckyTran?"

:lmao:

I had spent good money to be seen here, and I simply had to find a way out- even though this smart alek was droning on and on about some wanna be family that tried to tempt fate and stay here once. Ha! They were sure taught a lesson- guess that Diva will never be on the silver screen again.

Heh heh heh. Suckers.

Seriously, the owner of this hotel needs to fire not only his groundskeepers, but also the housekeeping staff AND his guest receptionist!!! Odd! How dare them not let me take all the time I wanted for my photo shoot!

And don't even get me started on the maintenance guys. :sad2:

The more we went up and down….

The more I began to like this place!! A LOT! So this was the secret: They gave their guests the thrill of a lifetime. I finally understood what everyone was raving about- and no wonder only the elite of the elite could get a reservation! Completely breathless, I exited my existential experience and wondered just how long it would be before I would get to stay in the Hollywood Tower of Terror again.

Hmmm...your experience was the same, yet different from mine. How odd. :scratchin

:rotfl2:

Great update! Your Hollywood diva theme is awesome. I love your writing.

But I still hate ToT. So there. :rotfl:

 This actually made me LOL!!! Mark, your a lot of fun.

Aw, thanks Camille. I wish I could take credit for that line, but like most of my best ones, I ripped it off.

Not so fast with the credit! He may be Mr. Quotation, but he doesn't have a prayer on Mr. Song Lyrics. :sad2: As someone who loves the Eagles music and the Hotel California album, I have sung that song hundreds of times.

And we appreciate that you have done that....in places where we were not. ;)

The lyrics are actually "you can check out any time you LIKE, but you can never leave."

You are correct...I just wasn't careful enough in my typing. My point was to correct the word that was bolded, since it was important...it was a play on words, to check-out of the hotel and to "check out" of life.

I'm pretty sure my meaning wasn't too terribly lost... Now I'll go back and fix BOTH boo-boos.

Maroo, so sorry to hear about the computer...that would have made me nuts.

Liesa, YOU ARE A STAR! :goodvibes

I love your description of Tower of Terror...you really should write a book as you are such a great storyteller.

And your house is beautiful...congratulations. I'd have to wear blinders though for that wallpaper.

You know what I love about this thread....

Anything seems to be fair game for a topic to be discussed. Thinking back to all we've covered is dizzying! Fun stuff! You all make it so great to be here day after day- THANKS!! :thumbsup2
