The really BIG problem with dinner on the Wish Class ships

Ah, I see. I didn't take that comment as a complaint that the MDRs were too big, necessarily. More than 4 MDRs might alleviate some of the issues-and if there were 4 then the MDRs would be smaller. But I didn't take it as a complaint the current ones are too big.

If they need to be smaller and more intimate that would suggest to me the op thinks they are too big. Personally i would like them bigger like on the dream and magic class. Its the one weakness for me of the wish class ship rotational restaurants.

When i was on the fantasy 5 months ago those restaurants were definately falling apart. A third of the screens in animators werent working. The lighting effects in enchanted garden were on C mode with many not working at all (not that they are any good anyway). Floors and tables had marks on them. Maybe, hopefully, the dry dock has fixed these up.

No entertainment outside the animators screened shows. And talking with crush is so awful no one even bothers to pay attention to it anymore. The rotational restaurants are the weakest part of the dream class and just dont stand up to the magic class let alone the wish class. They need to be redone to ever get us sailing dream class again. Animators needs to replace crush with something else and atleast one of the others needs to be completely gutted from floor to ceiling and replaced with a completely new concept.

I was on the Fantasy in May. Every screen I saw in Animator's Palate was working just fine. We had both the Crush show and Animation Magic and loved both. Lighting effects in Enchanted Garden also worked fairly well (maybe not as originally designed but there was definitely an 'effect'). Didn't see any marks on the tables or floors (other than perhaps some scuff marks which I consider normal wear and tear on a cruise ship).

I agree with Animators, I was on in May and September and didn’t see any screens not working. The Enchanted Garden lighting doesn’t work very well though, I think the only time I have seen it work was back in 2012 It was hit and miss if the flowers opened or if they were just stuck in one position.

The problem isn't the number of guests. The Wish-class ships have approximately the same number of guests as the Dream-class ships.

The problem is that the show requires the servers to be strict about serving things at specific times so that they aren't distracting you too much during the show. That means rushed courses and cold food and missed drink refills and ordering dessert before you know how full you'll be. It's all rather annoying.

That definitely wasn't the case at Pride Lands yesterday. I had to keep dealing with 1 server that kept blocking the stage (because they were coming out during the show)

I’m currently on the Destiny and the service is great. My worst experiences service wise have all been on the Dream - 3/5 cruises were poor.

The main issue that the Wish class have is that the dining rooms are too small and tables are crammed together. I feel so bad for the servers trying to squeeze.

Agreed! The tables are way too cramped in the Wish Class MDRs

Do we even know if they're actually smaller? Or do they just seem smaller because there are more tables to accommodate private table requests? They look about the same on the deck plans.

IIRC, cruisers had reported getting surveys from DCL asking about theming of restaurants, so there was speculation EG was going to get an overhaul during drydock (both the Dream and the Fantasy). Clearly that turned out to either be just a rumor or something DCL was planning and then subsequently pulled the plug on.

I’m hoping that EG will be more Disney themed someday. Similar to what happened to Parrots Key on the Magic and Wonder.

Yeah, serving team probably makes much more of a difference than the ship overall. When we were on the Magic this past summer for the 10-nt Southern, while I didn't mind the pace most nights, the tables around us with different servers were leaving dinner 20-30 minutes before us every night - even if the arrived later than we did

I've sailed on all the ships multiple times and service varies from cruise to cruise. I always find it funny when people blame the ship when the ship has nothing to do with your food service.

Was on treasure and we actually mentioned if they could slow down just a bit.... They were actually a bit too fast! Barely would be finished with one meal before the next came out.

Service can vary on a B2B. With the same servers.
Some cruises, the servers don’t have so many extra things they have to do and can devote more time to making the dining experience better.

And some servers are just better than others. That is why we have had the same server on the Fantasy for 8+ cruises. And have requested him again for January.

I love the shows but I do think they mess with the servers flow. It’s just so different then the non show restaurants. I do think Disney could change up things to help, like a family style menu or sampler appetizers platters. The service does feel off on those nights but it’s a trade off for the shows.
