Ewwww!! but I have to ask- do they allow people to ride them shirtless?? Would anyone really do that??

Don't worry, the situations I was thinking about was accidentaly touching someone elses arm or so... I have never seen anyone riding shirtless on a bus here, but I am sure it could happen - very rarely though. And if I had been this lady, I would not have stayed in that seat with this naked belly just in front of me. Even without any touching happening, it would be an ugly sight and was way too close to my face!! :scared1:

I am looking forward to your thought on DHS!

Mary, how wonderful that you got to meet this special family again! :goodvibes

Liesa, your house looks very American to me - in a good sense :goodvibes I love it that you have a stove! Do you need it or is it just something etxra for cosier warmth?

Mary - so gerat you were able to meet this special family again!

Well, so many of you asked to see our new place on the Willamette River just outside of Salem, OR, I have indulged you and uploaded a few pictures. And the back from looking up from the river:

I would get some serious enjoyment out of sitting on that back porch overlooking the river!!! :thumbsup2
Here's the hideous wallpaper I have to live with, but the view from the dining area more than makes up for it:

What hideous wallpaper??? :confused3 All I see is Pace Picante sauce with a red lid........
And lastly, the 2 views of the deck- left and right- as seen from our backside:

Wow, I've heard of people having eyes in the back of their HEAD, butt their uh, coolie??? :lmao:
To preserve my reputation I should note that I had to "research" it as well.
Suuure you did...... :rolleyes1
Also, glad to see that Mike keeps some beef jerky and a beer stein in his office. :thumbsup2

<pounds chest and grunts>
Okay, that makes up a little bit for being so "Chick Flick" knowledgeable..... :thumbsup2

I totally forgot to say anything about the lovely pictures of your house, but I have to agree with Katharina, that was my first thought as well. It looks so comfortable and cosy! I really hope you won't have to move away from there! :goodvibes

Well, so many of you asked to see our new place on the Willamette River just outside of Salem, OR, I have indulged you and uploaded a few pictures. Please excuse the messy appearance, as we haven't really put things away or unpacked yet!:

Here's the front as you drive up from the street:

Ooh, very very nice! I hope you get to stay here for a while. I could see where that view would be extremely serene.:cloud9: Now, is there any concern about flood stages?

Leisa,
I love the front of your house! You could have the cutest garden come spring time! :goodvibes

Maroo, you have me in tears. What a story about Noah. I'm so glad you were able to meet up with the family and catch-up, what a special DIS meet!!! :goodvibes

Liesa, your house is beautiful! I really like the crazy wallpaper...but then again, I'm kinda crazy and loud... And that view....beautiful!!!

He truly looks like he was a very sweet child. Angels never stay on earth for long, do they?:littleangel:

They look so wonderful, I cannot wait to experience them firsthand in October!:cool1:

This will be my first OOPS of the trip…Yeah…I didn't bring my camera! So I don't have any pictures of US playing! But I do have the notes of what we did. (SHRUG)
Uh oh. Well, hopefully, there aren't too many more OOPS'!!

I hope your chair issues were worked out quickly, it sounds like the company was really nice.

Wow, I've heard of people having eyes in the back of their HEAD, butt their uh, coolie??? :lmao:

You know Marv, I was going to comment on that, but I figured you would, so I left the abuse of poor Liesa to someone else, since I've done so on another thread and feel slightly guilty about it......:rolleyes1

Liesa- what a beautiful house!!!! (except for that wallpaper!!! Little to busy for my taste. :rotfl2::rotfl2:) I'm so glad you are able to finally get settled in.

Mary-
Love the pictures of Noah.... you can see the joy radiating out of his face. :littleangel:

How great that you had time to meet up with Noah's family again. I know it must of been hard for them to be back in Disney without Noah, but I'm sure it was comforting to them to get to spend some time with you.

WTG Apple Scooters! What great customer service! :thumbsup2

Maroo: great story about meeting Noah and his family! I'm sure you will cherish the memories.

Liesa: the house looks beautiful! What a great location! As for the wallpaper, I'm pretty sure that pattern was used in 60's brainwashing and LSD experiments. Or perhaps it was the result of them. I'm not sure.

A job offer IS a good thing! And if it means moving, then well, we'll move. Need anymore hydro- or engineering- geologists our your way??! ;) He worked for the OR Dept. of Trans. for years before we went overseas.

I actually checked our job postings, and didn't see anything up right now. But we do have a materials lab, so maybe that would be the spot for him?? :confused3 You'd just have to decide if you want to live in Delaware. Perhaps our state motto will sway you.

Delaware: So Close To Where You'd Rather Be. :thumbsup2

Liesa - your house is gorgeous. I absolutely love the surroundings and scenery. And the deck and views are just lovely! Are you very far from the town/city? I'm just breathless looking at those photos. I would love to live in a house like that some day :cloud9:

Maroo - a very touching story. It would be so sad to meet up with the family who just lost a child. I'm glad to hear you were so well taken care of with your electric chair!

That's such a great house, Liesa. I remember when you first posted pics last spring. It seems like a very peaceful place - I'd love to have a place to sit and drink my coffee in the morning with a view like that. Really like the blue trim around the porch! Gives it a little European flair:thumbsup2

So, no pic of the hot tub?:goodvibes

Maroo, Noah's story has me in tears. Awesome that you were able to meet up with the family again. I hope there are no more wheelchair issues. You know, it's ironic. You've done so much to help families with WISH trips who often have children who are wheelchair bound, and then of course there's your work with Lauren. But now you even have MORE expertise to share now that you've experienced WDW in a wheelchair yourself. Maybe your foot problems were a little blessing in disguise in that way?:)

Okay, I'm here getting caught up! Liesa your house looks so nice! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Maroo, that is such a touching story!

Maroo - so sorry about the computer but woo-hoo for a MAC! Jason says we are never getting a non-MAC again!

I am so happy you got to see Noah's family again and that they got to go to WDW again! I will never forget them and of course we always have the special smilie on the DIS to remind us of Noah :littleangel:. I would love to see the paver that was bought for him at GKTW some day.

Liesa - Glad you don't think Mike will have to take the CA job. Hope all goes well tomorrow with his interview! You know - there are some pretty awesome people living in PA in case he would get a job offer in here. :rolleyes1

I am so glad you enjoyed your DHS time so much - it is tons of fun to read about!

I am also glad to hear Zach is rolling right along with all of the changes!

We really enjoyed Tangled too and Jordan really wants to do the play and greet next week so we will try it.

Love the new house and I think it looks remarkably settled considering you just moved in! Hope you find your trip notes ASAP!

Maroo, Liesa, Camille and anyone else that is interested- if you have time, watch FB starting Saturday for updates from me of our WDW trip. I plan to post pics and updates via my iPhone. If anyone else is interested, feel free to friend me on FB - Jennifer Baney.

You know Marv, I was going to comment on that, but I figured you would, so I left the abuse of poor Liesa to someone else, since I've done so on another thread and feel slightly guilty about it......:rolleyes1

I saw that too, and like you I chose not to comment. :rotfl:

You'd just have to decide if you want to live in Delaware. Perhaps our state motto will sway you.

You have to be joking, right???????! :lmao:

Love the fall decorations at MK! Glad to hear you got a fully charged wheelchair! My grandfather once had his chair die at the natural history museum. I bet it would be much worse at Disney.

I totally wounldn't have either! Yucko to have to sit there getting "accidentally" touched or have to smell him. Blech!

I hope to get another update done sometime today. We'll see.. I also would like to get some bread made and the rest of my clothes put away. Of course, there the usual homeschooling which is back in full swing.

Liesa, your house looks very American to me - in a good sense :goodvibes I love it that you have a stove! Do you need it or is it just something etxra for cosier warmth?

Mary - so gerat you were able to meet this special family again!

Since it is about 15 minutes outside of town, and set kind of in the "woods" along the river, it does have quite a natural aura about it. LOADS of wood construction, lots of angles on the roof line, and my in-laws went with a wild maroon-ish kind of color, which fortunately, I kind of like.

We don't NEED the stove to heat, but I can honestly say that when we burn it heats up the half that we spend the most time in quite nicely. Since we've moved in, the oil furnace rarely kicks in. I like the house MUCH warmer than most people can tolerate, and this stove keeps it at a toasty 75. I love it! So that was your long answer to a simple question.

I would get some serious enjoyment out of sitting on that back porch overlooking the river!!! :thumbsup2

Wow, I've heard of people having eyes in the back of their HEAD, butt their uh, coolie??? :lmao:

It will be great in the summer, when I turn the covered porch part into an outdoor living room! It already has hammock hooks as well!

HA! New York CITY??!!

OK, OK, what a heap of flack I'm getting!! My hand slipped and forgot to insert a S P A C E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a differenence a space makes!! Sheesh! (It was a funny slip, though!) Wouldnt' that be a funny place to have eyes?? Just saying.
