And we appreciate that you have done that....in places where we were not. ;)
Well if your judgement on lyrics is any indication I'll thank you for the complement..... :rolleyes1
You are correct...I just wasn't careful enough in my typing. My point was to correct the word that was bolded, since it was important...it was a play on words, to check-out of the hotel and to "check out" of life.
Rules Committee says but thanks for playing!!! (besides, ToT is a "motion" ride, so movement doesn't count as an explanation either....as if even valid explanations matter to the Rules Committee!!!)
I'm pretty sure my meaning wasn't too terribly lost... Now I'll go back and fix BOTH boo-boos.
I didn't take your post as trying to be completely accurate and authoritative, so I wouldn't have commented on that one..... ;)
Wow... who invited the lyrics police? :confused3:confused3
I think it was Mr. Quotations... :) If you're gonna correct people, you better be right....... :sad2:

Obviously, I am terribly behind on comments and replies.... but gosh darned it, another day has sprung and the schoolbooks are begging to be opened. Minds must be developed, you know!

So, I'll catch ya'll a little later today- after I've been responsible for at least a little.

I'm betting this "being responsible" thing is one of those New Year's Resolutions you've broken repeatedly for the past 20 years....... :rolleyes1

I'm betting this "being responsible" thing is one of those New Year's Resolutions you've broken repeatedly for the past 20 years....... :rolleyes1

Actually, I"m learning rather quickly that living in a larger house means larger (amounts of) work. The wood stove needs feeding, and there's more surface area to wipe, dust and vacuum. The bathroom is the size of a postage stamp, so that needs cleaning EVERY day. Or it gets too gross (and I can't brush my teeth in a gross bathroom- or the gagging factor is increased by a magnitude of 200).

But one of the bennies that came with the house was a Kitchen Aid! I've made bread every day for the past few because it's so easy now. YUM!! So, it was probably not a NY's resolution, but came with the new territory.

Getting Zach off to school by 8:15 has me up earlier too, and on Mondays and Wednesdays, I have to drive Bek into the bus stop 6 miles into town so she can get to her community college. I don't like that!

:rotfl2: That was great! I want to ride ToT with you! You even got the ghosts! Great detail shots! Some I have never seen!

I always drool over your pictures!! Your TR puts mine to shame in that regard, for sure! I tried, though to find unique, little seen shots, and hoped for the best the POC could do.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. I've never noticed those signs to the natatorium and what not.

Oh, and the words in Hotel California are, "you can check out any time you want, but you can never leave." :)

It was quite an enjoyable stay, but boy, I'll tell ya... that staff was something else!

Got that biff-up fixed! ;)

Me moving to Florida just means that you will ALWAYS have a place to stay at on your way to DISNEY!!! It also means that I will NEVER miss another DISmeet ever, ever again!

:banana::banana: I love that!!!!! And being at those DISMeets is going to be amazing!! How fun!

Excellent update! :thumbsup2

it was so fun to write it!! I hope I can keep chugging these out regularly!

Liessa Loved the pix of your house !! BUT that wallpaper:scared1: Your description of ToT was hysterical!!But not enuff to make me reserve a room!!!:lmao:

Maroo . loved the insight into Noah and family !!:cloud9::hug:

ToT really isn't like a roller coaster! Just a lot of quick up and downs. You never know, Rosie, until you try it! ;)

I can send you some of the wallpaper if I ever strip it.

I love this update!!!!!!!!!! :love::love:

You are putting my TR to shame, I might add. I think the problem is I didn't put the disclaimer at the beginning of my TR this time- you know, the one that states I am NOT a writer. :upsidedow

I hope every ride you went on has an update like this... we'll be reading this TR for years!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Your writing is fine!! And I might add, that I think if you go by the numbers you have more posters/readers than I do. ;) I didn't check, but it's just a guess. Either way, you've got the draw of a sweet little girl and a lovely wife.

I don't think I'll go attraction by attraction, but I can guarantee the next one will stand alone too.

Sounds like a great plan! :thumbsup2 Is this the neighbour who is in the wine business? I remember that you mentioned one just after you got back home... :goodvibes

Yep, those are the ones. She works for a wine distributor (very large company) and is quite networked with the wine world of the Willamette Valley of Oregon. She gave me a mini-tutorial about German Reislings telling me there are basically 3 kinds ranging from dryer to very sweet. She tells me she really enjoys German wines because they are very "balanced with the acidity a;banvaoe8ru;l ae vaorheh, aporahecnaoi"

Clearly, I have a lot to learn about wine.

Regardless they are a nice couple who have 2 older kids (22 and 24, girls). She likes to garden and remodel the house. And gossip about the neighbors, which I'll have to be VERY, very careful about!

I loved your ToT update! You put so much creativity in your updates, they are really wonderful to read. Did you really stay in the library for three pre-shows? I never thought of doing that. I guess I am always way too eager to get on the ride, but I really must do that next time.

I REALLY did stay in there for 3 shows. The first time was a bit shocking because just as I was about to leave the door suddenly shut and more people started pouring in. The CM laughed and said not to worry. When the 2nd one was over, he asked if I was looking for anything in particular, and during the 2nd break he showed me all of them, and was so patient and kind. Of course, I took all of that time to get my photos sort of ok, (remember it is VERY dark and my POC just was really having a hard time getting anything to come into focus), so had to stay for another showing of Rod Sterling!

I think it is so funny that Disney edited out his cigarette deeming it too un-PC to have him smoking! :lmao:

So, long story short, the first time I got trapped was accidental, the 2nd time, was not.

Was this your first time on ToT? It sounded a bit like you really did not know what was going to happen. :goodvibes

No, I rode it with my kids in 2008 and absolutely adored it! That time was just learning to love the ride. This time was all about finding those little hidden gems all over the parks. This time I really paid attention and drank in the story line!

You shouldn't have told us that - I would have thought that you are just a Latin scholar, "nare" means to swim in Latin. :thumbsup2

I never thought about studying Latin, although they say that the kids who do score on average about 50 points higher on their SATs. :confused3

I do hope that if you find Rapunzel you take lots of pictures!!

I feel a WHOLE lot more settled after last night!

Will do and I am so glad to hear that!

I love this update!!!!!!!!!! :love::love:

You are putting my TR to shame, I might add. I think the problem is I didn't put the disclaimer at the beginning of my TR this time- you know, the one that states I am NOT a writer.

So not only are you Mr. Quotation, you are Mr. Song Lyrics too????? :confused3 ;)

I love, love, love this update too! Tim I think you do a great job on your TR! I was thinking the same thing - how many titles does Glen need?

Have an amazing trip sweet lady!!!
Thank you!
My next goal for travelling during a different season is to see those fall/halloween decorations!!!

Not so fast with the credit! He may be Mr. Quotation, but he doesn't have a prayer on Mr. Song Lyrics. :sad2: As someone who loves the Eagles music and the Hotel California album, I have sung that song hundreds of times. As I pointed out in my TR, it was the first 8 track I bought when my first car had an 8 track player in it.

The lyrics are actually "you can check out any time you LIKE, but you can never leave."

Fall is a great time to visit WDW! :thumbsup2 Glen has been dethroned and Marv is now Mr. Song Lyrics. But did you say 8-track and your car had an 8-track player? Dating yourself there Mr!

I love your description of Tower of Terror...you really should write a book as you are such a great storyteller.

I agree! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Love! Love! Love this place for you! I'm totally loving the paint choices, it gives it such character. :goodvibes I'm with you on the wallpaper, I don't think it will be that exspensive to take down and paint. You probably already know this, but....what ever you do....don't paint over it! :scared1:

Well, if you come out here in a couple months, you'll actually get to see it in person! WOOT!!

I know! Painting over wallpaper is always a gigantic mistake- you can NEVER get it off without completely wrecking the drywall or plaster! I would replace it with more paper, so for now it'll have to stay.

Love the house! The wallpaper is definitely unique.

Loved the details of ToT. After only 2 rides, I really haven't seen even a small portion of the them.

There is so much theming packed into that ride, is just like the Imagineers wnet in there and puked details all over the place!

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:
Good luck to Mike!

Also, a wonderful update! I love the fact that you noticed a sign that said, "Natatorium". I actually had to look it up to know what it meant.:rolleyes1 Very cool, old fashion vocabulary! Not only are you entertained on these trip reports, but you learn so much!:goodvibes

I'm glad your stay ended up being better than it started out.

So glad you enjoyed reading about my stay the Hollywood Tower of Thrills. Those signs totally make me want to go back there and explore the grounds to find it all!!

Just found out that the job he really wants accepted the minimum qualifications on his application! WOOT!

Forgot to add. . . I love all of the time you took on TOT and all of the photos and hidden mickeys - so many great details that we never see as we rush through. I want to take it slower this trip to see the details but Jordan has decided she has to do "everything" and there is hardly anything that can be skipped - we will try to find a happy medium - LOL!

I wonder how much it'd cost to live there every day 365 a year. :lmao:

I don't have the figures on DVC, but Jeremy and I were recently discussing this and ran some numbers. For roughly $100,000/yr, you could live in a moderate resort. This assumes you eat at least one meal in your room, and dine moderately when out. It also takes into account a vacation a couple times a year, where you stay deluxe for a few weeks.

Great Tower of Terror post! :thumbsup2

Great TOT post! Of course now the song is stuck in my head, thanks a lot!

I can't recall if I posted or not but congrats Mary on the new 'puter!

Very cool on meeting the qualifications on the job he wants, fingers crossed!

I can send you some of the wallpaper if I ever strip.
Didn't you do enough stripping in front of poor Mary? :confused3

Your writing is fine!! And I might add, that I think if you go by the numbers you have more posters/readers than I do. ;) I didn't check, but it's just a guess. Either way, you've got the draw of a sweet little girl and a lovely wife.
Your TR might scare some people off sometimes... with the pages of banter by some of the characters here (no names... :rolleyes1), some people can't invest that amount of time. :goodvibes

I don't think I'll go attraction by attraction, but I can guarantee the next one will stand alone too.
Did we get a clue where you were heading next? I forgot. :confused3

I love, love, love this update too! Tim I think you do a great job on your TR! I was thinking the same thing - how many titles does Glen need?
Thank you!

Glen can actually use a few more titles! :lmao::lmao:

I have become a lurker. I admit it. I read and don't respond.

I can't keep up. :lmao:

I did want to say though, and I've said it before, Maroo, it takes a special kind of person to be what you have been to these families, Lauren's, Noah's...I'm always in awe of how much love you have to give.

No lurking allowed! I'll have to call up Tim to take care of things with his "delurker"!! Hey, I never thought of that- he could really get my lurkers into shape! J/K! you can post whenever you like, but you know it makes us all smile when you're around. :goodvibes

They can't just say "swimming pool"? I'm getting a bad vibe from this place. Obviously very snobby.

Obviously the place to be seen then, if you're trying to rise to the top! (no pun intended, although at second glance, that was pretty funny!)

And don't even get me started on the maintenance guys. :sad2:

I know!! Just can't find good help these days.

Hmmm...your experience was the same, yet different from mine. How odd. :scratchin

So close, yet so far!

Great update! Your Hollywood diva theme is awesome. I love your writing.

But I still hate ToT. So there. :rotfl:

Just wait, this diva goes a long, long way at DHS!! ;)

Maybe you needed to spend longer in the library? :lmao:

Oh, and I hope Mike's interview goes well! :goodvibes

We should know in a couple weeks after they finish interviewing everyone.

Liesa, YOU ARE A STAR! :goodvibes

I love your description of Tower of Terror...you really should write a book as you are such a great storyteller.

And your house is beautiful...congratulations. I'd have to wear blinders though for that wallpaper.

Ha! I was just getting warmed up at DHS; there's so much more fun yet to come!

I would love to write a book someday, but life always seems to be so full of regular stuff that needs to happen. :sad2:

And you're welcome to come on out and see that wallpaper first hand!!

After all this, I'm sure you won't let it happen again. ;)

Not to be confused with Police lyrics.

Sorry, sorry, sorry. Not trying to be critical...even used small font.

No, I'm sure it won't; however, every time I say that, I always seem to throw something in that causes much ruckus! :lmao:

Will do and I am so glad to hear that!

I love, love, love this update too! Tim I think you do a great job on your TR! I was thinking the same thing - how many titles does Glen need?

Tim does do a great job! I think anyone who takes the time wants it to be fun for everyone to feel welcome and enjoy themselves while reading.

Yes, do stop and find those little gems along the way that the Imagineers throw all over the place. Very fun stuff at every turn!

Great Tower of Terror post! :thumbsup2

Ah, that's just small pocket change. I'll sign up tomorrow....

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. But I do know some people who do make enough to do this... I wonder why they don't have a few lifers?

Great TOT post! Of course now the song is stuck in my head, thanks a lot!

I can't recall if I posted or not but congrats Mary on the new 'puter!

Very cool on meeting the qualifications on the job he wants, fingers crossed!

Sorry, I know it's a catchy little tune...:rolleyes1

Didn't you do enough stripping in front of poor Mary? :confused3

Thank you!

Glen can actually use a few more titles! :lmao::lmao:

Ha, I actually did put that in there on purpose, and wondered if anyone would catch it. good job!! :lmao::thumbsup2

I do see a lot of hits each morning, but very few, relatively speaking posts. Hmmm.... LURKERS!! Come out, come out whereeeeeever you are.....

Nope, I didnt' give a clue, but I try a different skill next time!! That's all i"m saying.

I don't want any more! Marv can have it!

Don't let 'em pick on you. There's enough of THAT piled on me. Seriously, you can correct my grammar, spelling or content whenever you want- You've earned the long-time hanger arounder with me.

Best Update Ever.

Seriously, that was so much fun to read!

I"m so thrilled you enjoyed it. I'll let mary get caught up with her E, and then work on my "F".

Liesa, thank you for this really wonderful and entertaining post!!!

I never thought about studying Latin, although they say that the kids who do score on average about 50 points higher on their SATs. :confused3

Magdalene and me suffered through several years of Latin, I think we both had our worst marks in Latin and hated it sometimes. BUT learning about Roman life and their culture was and still is very interesting and knowing Latin helped me learning other languages, not only romanic ones. You learn to understand the concept of a difficult grammar.
