disney gift card issue

I was gifted several disney gift cards over the weekend.
One was a cardboard/paper like material instead of plastic and the numbers got ruined when trying to scratch off so I have no idea what the amount is.
Is there any other way to find out the balance?
I assume it will scan fine at the parks despite the numbers coming off.

It will scan fine. If you only damaged the number there is an app to scan it and extract the number. If you damaged the security code you are out of luck for now and will have to scan in park to learn how much is on it.

How did you mess up the numbers? Traditionally where people go wrong with the cardboard ones is they try to peel instead of scratch. (If that happened and you still have the grey strip you can try to put it on a piece of paper & scratch the grey stuff off to reveal the number attached to the clear level underneath.)
