If I upgrade to a water view what will I get ? I would rather have a water view of the river than the pool?

As others have pointed out, paying for a water view may not be the same at a moderate as the view from a deluxe. There are no balconies to enjoy the view. I paid for a water view at POFQ and got bldg 1, the furthest from the food court. While the river was lovely there were no benches or tables to sit at and enjoy the view. I would save my money the next time.

I agree. I wouldn't stress about a water view either. Like the PP said, you don't have a balcony so you can't really sit and enjoy it.

I would not pay extra for a water view either. I like to stroll in the morning before most people are up and there are benches down along the river where I just sat and enjoyed the dawning of the new day. Very pleasant.

Both times I've been to WDW, I've stayed in POFQ. The first time we were in block 5, and when we booked the second trip we were told we could request the same room...if we could remember the number. We weren't given the same room, but were in the same block... :thumbsup2

A friend told me that a CM told them to feel free and move the chairs out of their room to be able to sit and take advantage of enjoying the view.......anyone seen this done before? Sounds strange to me.:confused3

Yes, I've seen people do this. As there are so many paths from the main walkways up to the accommodation buildings (especially in the Riverside Alligator Bayou section, but in FQ too) you can sit outside your room and not really be in anyone's way. We've often seen couples sitting out with a bottle of wine and some snacks enjoying watching the river or the scenery in the warm Florida evenings - it's especially nice if you're on the upper floor.

I've seen it done too. Over at POR in the AB section one couple had brought those fold-up chairs for camping and had them down on the lawn overlooking the river. They seemed quite content and were not in anyone's way.

Just had to say I am doing the "final payment" happy dance. :cool1: :cool1:
I am officially paid in full for our Nov/Dec trip. Now, the fun planning begins.

Does anyone know if the laundry room is 24/7? :confused3 Not that I want to do laundry on vacation, but.....I don't want a suitcase full of dirty laundry. :lmao:

Now that sounds really relaxing, especially with some wine & cheese....

I wish that I had know that. I was a little disappointed that there were no chairs on the veranda and I had two girls in my room so there were no vacant chairs :rotfl2:. I would have loved to sit and have my coffee while the sleepyheads were all tucked in.

I wish you were coming with me, we could leave the old farts (Johnny & Buddy) eating sandwiches in the room and we'd be enjoying us some wine & cheese.:lmao:

I've seen people with the chairs outside too. This was back before the entire resort was no smoking. They were out there smoking. Bad thing is it was not too far from the elevator in building 3 on the inside corridor. I'm glad my room wasn't near them.

Laundry rooms can be used 24/7. After a certain time the door is locked, but can accessed with your room key.

Kathy- if you and I were there we'd head over to Scat cat's Lounge for one of whatever the bartender made me when my Sis IL put me over the edge. I never drink with the young ones, even if they are over age but I made an exception when Debbie dragged me down with her, and it was sooooo good! We could save the wine for dinner :thumbsup2

I do plan on hitting Scat Cat's!:thumbsup2

Do the first floor rooms have patios and are they close/visible to the pool? From the pictures I've seen, it appears that there is a row of shrubbery between the pool and the buildings...I was hoping to be able to sit on the patio while the kids played in the pool.

You're correct that there is fairly thick shrubbery blocking the view of the pool from the first floor rooms that front the pool in Buildings 2 and 5.

Each room does NOT have its own patio or sitting area. Just outside your door and window is the exterior corridor that people walk along to get to and from their rooms, etc.

Great thread!

Thanks for the PIC's.

We'll be there July 14th anyone else.

DW, DD's 13 and 14
