DH and I are very excited about trying POFQ for our upcoming trip. We stayed at POR last October and we are looking foward to staying on the smaller side of the resort.

I did not request a building preference and just figured whatever we get, we get, we printed out the map also located on Page 36 and DH really wants to stay in Bldg 1, 6 or 7 for some reason . . .:confused3

Anyone who has stayed at POFQ is it worth it to request a certain location? Everything seems to be pretty much within short distance.

Also, when we stayed at POR there were no sharing of the buses with POFQ is that the norm? Does POFQ have their own buses too?

That's just the rope they use to close the hot tub at night so that you won't use it during off hours.

Thanks! It really made me uneasy when I saw that in the picture. I didn't notice it when we were there. In fact, I didn't know that they actually closed the hot tub.

We could look directly at the hot tub from our room, and while we never heard any noise at night from there, it was always a mess in the morning with towels and trash thrown everywhere -- no blame to the housekeeping / groundskeeping staff though, blame lays squarely on the shoulders of the grownups using the hot tub at night. Shortly after daylight, the area was always cleaned up, but it did bother me that people would be rude enough to leave such a mess behind. Ok, sorry for the vent!

The only thing I would request would be a room not overlooking the pool. We were in Building 5 and overlooked the hot tub and that was fine. But I noticed that when I walked around Building 5 on the balcony, the rooms overlooking the pool probably could hear a lot of the pool noise. Where we were, we didn't hear it at all.

In fact, I think that we had the shortest walk to the food court from our room in all of POFQ (except for the people below us on the first floor) and we didn't hear any sounds of families making their way there.

Other than avoiding overlooking the pool, I think any room at POFQ would be great. Even the buildings the furthest away (the ones your dh picked) are only a short pleasant stroll to the food court, gift shop, bus stop, etc.

Depending on crowd level, sometimes the busses are shared, sometimes they aren't. But you are guaranteed a seat since the FQ is the first stop.

It is closest to Building 5. The part of Building 5 that is closest to the Food Court faces the hot tub. The same side of Building 5, but closer to the river, faces the pool. We were in the corner room, second floor, closest to the Food Court and could see the hot tub clearly from our door.

My dd and I were in Building 2, second floor overlooking the pool and we didn't hear anything. It was extremely quiet.

i've booked a standard room at POFQ for august and I want to make sure I end up on the third floor if I can. I'm really not to keen on staying on the first floor of the building. Are buildings 4 and 5 close to the main building (ie food courts and buses) while still holding standard rooms (i dont want to upgrade...im spending enough money as it is lol). Please help me figure out what building to request.

Technically, I guess Building 5 is closest, but Buildings 2, 3 and 4 are just about right there, too. It's a difference of just a few steps.

Hi all,

We just got back from 3 night stay at POFQ (Sun - Tues). We were in room 3133 (bldg 3) which is a corner King room (we paid for King room) on the first floor on corner closest to parking lot and main building. It was actually a handicapped room and at first I wasn't sure I wanted it but I think it was better. We only had one sink but it had a very large counter area to put stuff. It was just DH and I so the shower was fine. The fold out seat was handy for shaving my legs.

We felt the room was a little run down though and not cleaned that well. After mousekeeping came I would find trash on the floor that they did not pick up. We did not get any towel animals either. The bed was ok but the mattress seemed old. We stayed at Wilderness Lodge last Fall and there is a difference between Deluxe and Moderate. My husband wondered if Pop or All-stars would be even worse. I told him I thought that the rooms are just even smaller.

I did like the theming of the resort and the small size. It was very quick walk to pool and hot tub. We used the pool one day and had no problem getting chairs. The pool is nice sized. We used hot tub 2 nights and it was nice and hot. It was popular around 9:30. The food court is larger and better than Wilderness Lodge and we did try some beignets - yum!

All CMs were nice and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much. I would come back to POFQ for a short trip or just 2 people. DH and I debated the benefits of being on-property (EMH) vs staying off-property for same price and having much nicer accomadations. Not sure we decided yet... of course we haven't tried staying off property to see how we would like that or not.

If you have any questions I will be happy to try and answer them

Was the hot tub small?:confused3

If I upgrade to a water view what will I get ? I would rather have a water view of the river than the pool?

We just got back yesterday from a wonderful stay at POFQ. We had a great trip. Stayed in building 3, 3rd floor, what I suppose you could call a parking lot view, although you could hardly see the lots through the trees. It was very quiet. At 9 each night we could see the higher illuminations fireworks from our window. They were small and in the trees, but it was something special for our 4 year old. We did eat in both POR and POFQ food courts and found them adequate. Not a lot of choice but you dont eat there every meal. My kids LOVED the pool and we were there everyday! DS4 loved to watch the slide, he did it once but deemed it 'too dangerous' for himself so he just watched the others. The kiddy pool was just the right size and it was a great place to relax. Beautiful, small resort. Everything is so close in and it was just perfect for our family.

Any questions just ask!

Paying for a water view room gets you exactly that (and only that) ... a room with a view of water. There is no way for you to guarantee whether you'll end up with a view of the river as opposed to a view of the pool. You can request a river view, but if you end up with a pool view you really have no recourse, as you got what you paid for ... WATER view is guaranteed but what type of water you have a view of is a matter of a request, and requests can't be guaranteed.

While at some resorts it is true you can get views of the pool when you request a water view. Here most people want to be around the pool or closer to the food court, not that it's that far. I was in building 1 the first time, it was the longest walk to the bus stop - 5 min.
