So there is no room under the beds...

but we found it quite convenient and easy to put the suitcases between the bed/wall (which worked for us 'cause only one person was sleeping in that bed) :flower:

hi :wave2:
we are booked for 2 weeks next year at POFQ :cool1: how is this resort for kids?my boys will be 15 and 11 at the time, also my youngest loves it when the CM's mess about with his toys do they do this at this resort? (he still talks about it to this day) and lastly do you still get the disney feel here? i know so many questions but we have only ever stayed at the all stars and i'm worried that it might be too grown up for them (the youngest anyway)i would love to hear your comments :)

WHo is 14 loves it...He loved it back in 2003 too. I do feel the Disney Magic everytime we go and can't wait to head back soon!

Good luck and Have fun! :goodvibes

my kids absolutely loved it and cried when we left for our split stay at AKL! (they were 8 and 10yo at the time)

totally all disney! we got some towel animals and lots of creative displays w/their stuffed animals/toys... the pool is awesome... but if time allows, take the boat (or walk) over to POR and try out that pool too... great fun!! ds and dh also enjoyed the cane pole fishing at POR :)

Unfortunately we didn't get any towel animals or fun things with dd's toys. We haven't had any thing like that during either of our stays.

Just wondering why POFQ was closed until March? Was it just for rehab? DH and I are going in the beginning of April for our birthdays and leaving our 15 year olds with friends! Decompress!

We also stored some bags under the bench in the room and in the closet area.

thank you for your replies :thumbsup2 you have put my mind at rest :) i didn't know that you could do fishing there my partner's hobby is fishing and the boys often want to go fishing with him so that will keep them happy :) we are staying for 2 weeks so will definatly have time to use the boat to DTD and POR :cheer2: and my youngest would be realy pleased about the maids 'doing their toy arranging'that was the highlight of his trip the last 2 times we were there coming back to the room and seeing what they had done with his toys
thanks again

I was there at the end of Feb. and we had a few suprises with the towels. I was more excited about what we got then the kids though, they didn't really care. The best was an elephant.

i also enjoyed going back to the room and see what they had done and DS was overjoyed as well still talks about it to this day from october 04 :teeth:

I want to book one king room and one standard.
I will pay extra for the king. Can these rooms
be connecting ? I am afraid to request this as
I am wondering if it will really limit our location
options. We are going at Christmas. Thanks for
any input you have.

I'm making my first trip to WDW in May and staying at the POFQ.

What are the bath towels like? Are they hard and scratchy?

Also, how are the pillows. Are they thick and full?....or flat?

Thanks,
Beth

the towels were fine... not scratchy at all... but also not very big... i was glad to have one of my own (but i should have known better than to bring white as mousekeeping took it off the hook on the back of the bathroom door a few days into our trip! :sad2: )

the pillows wer big and fluffy... dh was thrilled... i had a stiff neck and also glad i had brought my own (in a pink pillowcase so there was no mixing it up!) :teeth:

This is what we wanted plus with a standard view and it wasn't available at all (we booked very early and during off season at the end of Jan). I believe if we upgraded to water view it was available but for us it wasn't worth the extra $59 per night times 2 rooms times 7 nights....

This time next week DH & I will be flying somewhere around DC on our way to POFQ. We are starting to sound as pathetic as our parents used too! All I want is peace & Quiet!

I've noticed some get towel animals and some don't. I am sure it is just the difference in the CM's. If after a couple of days no towel animals are left, is it appropriate to request them. If so, who would you contact to ask that towel animals be left.

We did not receive any in our room. I am not sure if you can request one or not but I did see there was someone in the lobby one day making them for people and showing children how to make their own. I don't know it they do this daily or if it was a random thing.
