We went the week before Easter april 7th to the 14th and we had a easter Bunny family made of towels for us. They even had eyes. This happened once. But I think every day someone diffrent cleaned the rooms sometimes they would leave there tip behind also.

We made our reservations today. YEAH! We'll be at POFQ for the first time. Using the Magic your way plus dining package.
Stayed at the Contempo. in 1999, along with the 3 day cruise, but wanted more of a themed resort this time.
I have some questions, and this seems like a great place to find answers! We will be sharing a room with a friend who smokes (we have a none smoking room), can he smoke just outside, a bit away from the building, or are there designated places?
Also, this is the first time using the "dining" pkg. Any tips? I did print out a copy of the resturants that are on this plan.
We will be there 8/13 thru 8/18, and I can't wait. I'll never outgrow anything Disney!

He could smoke on the outside corridor. I saw someone smoking there when we were there a couple of weeks ago. We were in building 1 which is completely nonsmoking, but there are 1 or 2 others that have both smoking and nonsmoking rooms in them. I know building 2 is one of them, and it is in a real convenient location. There are also benches placed around the resort and there was a fountain with benches around it where I guess he could smoke.

You'll love it --it's a beautiful resort. :thumbsup2

Oh, and welcome to the board! :wave2:

We went for our first WDW trip in Sept to Pop and had all kinds of towels & the stuffed toys arranged all cutsey. One night we came home and the tv was on and I was like "who left the tv on?" and then saw the mousekeeper left the animals arranged w/the remote and the tv on Disney channel! Cute!
Plus balloons and a card in the room on my son's birthday.

We are going for our second trip in October, this time to POFQ....I love to landscape and the pics all look beautiful!

We are going June 19-25! I'm so excited! Our first trip and staying on site :cool1: . Any new things happening here that I should know about?

If I want to log into my email and print out our boarding passes for our return flight while at POFQ, where can I do that? we will not be bringing a laptop with us. is there a 'business center' or anything? does it cost money to use? :thanks:

24 hours til landing in MCO! :cool1:

Is there a computer guests can use? DW wants to download pictures to Jetflash instead of buying another card. If there is, is there a charge?

I have stayed in this resort before for my mother's birthday. And we had a great time. The french pastries are amazing.... My parents had a great time and my sister and I loved the pool. We were the oldest kids there. I am 24 and my DSis is 20 and we kept going back and forth on the slide. I will post the pics on later.....

We will be staying at FQ in September and I'm curious about the size of the resort. I've read that it is very compact but in comparison to Pop Century is it that spread out or is everything really that close? :confused3 I have read a couple of reviews on trip advisor and here that there is a pretty good walk from bldgs 1 & 7. I haven't requested a bldg because I felt that there was not a bad location is this true? TIA :wave2:

You can ask at the front desk, and they will print out the boarding passes for you.

Every map I see of Pop, I think that is spread out! :lmao:

We were at POFQ, in room 7248. Building 7, on the corner. It was the farthest room out, so to speak. It took us 5 minutes to walk to the bus stop, 5 minutes to the pool, and 7 minutes to the food court or front desk.

Honestly, we loved that room and building. Nice river view, nice and quiet. That resort is really deisgned well, so that even the furthest room feels close!

Enjoy POFQ!!!

The photo shops in the parks have a booth where you can burn your pics onto a CD, I did this during my last trip.

Thanks we in the 90's section at Pop and it was a long walk w/ a 3yo from the bus stop and food court.

Hi, everyone!!!

Dh & I are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter from September 22-29, 2006. We upgraded from Pop Century. We are going for our late honeymoon- (We got married in December 2005). I'm a little nervous about staying here, because I just stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in November 2005 and LOVED IT-and I don't want to regret staying at French Quarter. We are going for the free dining promotion, I'm pretty excited about that too!! We just requested a non-smoking room close to the food court. I will post pics on this thread when we return from our trip, but until then, I love reading more and more about Port Orleans French Quarter! :Pinkbounc

I just decided that we would change from ASMo to POFQ! :cool1: I've only stayed onsite one other time and that was ASMo. We are traveling with another family so there will be 8 of us. We'd like connecting rooms. There are 2 moms, 2 dads, our DD4, their DS4, our DS2 and their DD2. Thats a lot of strollers!
Does anyone know if connecting rooms are all on the 1st floor?

May 19-22 and it was very nice and QUIET! :thumbsup2 The food court wasn't crowded in the morning, or late afternoon, and the grounds were in excellant shape. :thumbsup2 What a difference between this resort and POP Century! ;) I was able to sleep without hearing kids running up and down the hall and slamming doors. :thumbsup2 So, needless to say, this will be MY Moderate Resort from now ON! I stayed in Section 4 room 4102. and besides a leaky A/C, that was fixed quickly the next day, and my room keys not working, hey it happens, I will STILL stay at this resort. I booked it for Dec! :woohoo:

We stayed in connecting rooms on the 3rd floor of building 3.

Ok, I'm back. I just finished reading this monster thread! I'm exhausted and haven't gotten anything done at work today! :rotfl2: I stayed up very late on Sunday and Monday nights. :rotfl2: But I'm now addicted to POFQ!
I do have a few questions:
Is there any room for under the bed storage?
Does anyone have a layout diagram of the room?
Where do you normally put a pack & play in a double room?
Does anyone have a pic of connecting double rooms?
Does POFQ have the story time channel?

You can find the menus here:

http://allearsnet.com/

I would suggest that you check them out and then call for reservations. The # for Disney Dining is 407-939-3463. You can also head over to the restaurant board for lots of help.

We are going to be there August 21 thru AUgust 26, and I am very excited also. I did make all of my ressies already because I was afraid that I would not be able to get my choices, but there seemed to be plenty available for the restaurants that I was interested in.

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

I vaguely remember the under bed area being open but it was not that high off the ground.

Does anyone have a layout diagram of the room?

There is a layout in the Passporter--our local library carries it if you don't want to buy it.

Where do you normally put a pack & play in a double room?

Perhaps between the door to the connecting room and the front door? The biggest empty spot is really by that connecting door. There was a luggage rack that might be movable between the bathroom and dresser/fridge area where it also might fit.

Does anyone have a pic of connecting double rooms?

I think I have some room pics but none that show the door open all the way.

Does POFQ have the story time channel
That channel is no longer at any resports. My kids missed it :(
