Hi,
We go to WDW over Thanksgiving and the week after quite often, including this year.

The crowds are definately busy the week of Thanksgiving, but still not like the summer. The lines are crowded, especially the day before, day of and day after thanksgiving. The week after is much better. By Sunday the crowds thin down alot. The week prior to Thanksgiving is great until the Thursday before Thanksgiving.

The weather is nice. It's usually not hot and can actually get cold. Usually its cold in the morning and evening and occassionally its really cold all day long. It barely rains this time of year. Usually if we do a 10day-15 day trip we will get 1 day of rain and possibly none.

We love this time of year! We are going 11/20-12/4 this year. And even though its busy over Thanksgiving we still love it! The best part is starting on Thanksgiving morning the parks and hotels are magically transformed into Christmas! It's a great way to start the season!

I second MelanieC's statements. My family has done WDW Thanksgiving week 3 times, plus this coming November. We've done June once, and will never do it again...

I'll mention just a few things that Melanie did not... By the week before Thanksgiving the Christmas decorations are up, and the place is beautiful. Most of the stores are plating Christmas music. Depending upon your perspective of hot and cold, you will probably be able to swim one or more days. I know that my "kids" DD19 and DS16 will be in the pool at least once.

So do you think the Sat. before Thanksgiving Day through the Saturday after is a good time to visit? We are going to travel with friends that have school age children in 2005 so we are thinking that this would be a time that was not to crowded but, the kids also did not miss that much school.

We would perfer to do a Sept or Jan trip with them but that would mean the kids would have to miss a week of school.

I am thinking that the Sat. through mid Wednesday would not be that bad. Then we plan on avoiding the MK for the rest of the stay.

It will be very busy on Thanksgiving day at MK, and will be busy on Friday too.

Generally, not always, we save our shopping at Downtown Disney and other non-park stuff for late in the week when the crowds are the largest.

Thanks. I had a feeling that was the case. As long as we get the MK done before Thanksgiving Day we should be all right.
