Teen Mom

There have been rumors in the past that some of the housing and cars have been rented by MTV. Maybe some of that is true.

I can't remember the girls name, but she was on the first season of 16 & pregnant (and did not film teen mom). She said mtv bought her a crib as a "prop", so they do buy the girls stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if they rented housing and cars for the girls.

The apartments aren't rented from MTV. I live in the same town as Maci and I know the girl who's father owns the apartment building.

What diet pill did Amber use to lose the baby weight? I have heard it talked about in the past but dont remember what it was. Maybe the side effects of that along with her diagnosed depression is what sent her over the edge????

Just thinking, not trying to make excuses!

I don't think it was a "diet" pill. I thought she was on anxiety meds which caused her to lose her appetite. Because one time when she was raging, Gary looked at her and asked her if she had taken her meds. I doubt he would have been referring to diet pills at a time when she was all angry and screaming.

Maybe someone else can answer. But she did lose allot of weight. Someone stated she was down under 110lbs.

I remember Gary saying that. I was thinking it was was for anxiety or for bipolor or something.

o boy check this out

Amber's Baby Leah Tat

I'm not against tattoos, but I think its ridiculous to go out and get a massive tat like that when you can't afford crib sheets and food.
Its from Star so who knows how reliable it is, but.

According to Huffington Post Amber is Pregnant with # 2.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/14/teen-mom-amber-portwood-pregnant-report_n_796813.html

OT - I haven't watched any of the new Pregnant and 16 shows this year, I just don't have the mental energy to get into the series anymore, but I did watch the last season of Teen Mom and am sad that she's bringing another baby into this world considering all of her legal/personal issues.

Wow, just wow. There is no way that Leah and the new baby are going to get out of that cycle of life. I'm sure the chances of her being a teen mom herself are high. I just wish MTV could help get these girls the help they need to better their lives. Not sure Amber wants to anyway.:sad2:

Now dating cage fighter named Clinton Yunker, Star says that Portwood is hoping that the child is Shirley's nonetheless. "She thinks they're meant to be together," the magazine said.

There is so much wrong with that paragraph. I feel so bad for her and her child. She really needs help.

So is it the end of Maci, Catelynn, Amber and Farrah? I actually liked watching some of them.. I hope MTV at least keeps Maci on the show.

Hey Everyone,

I am late to this conversation as I just discovered this show recently and have been watching all the old episodes online.

1) Is anyone else annoyed how none of the kids were using car seats correctly? The straps were insanely loose, the buckle that is supposed to be at chest level was often down at belly button level, and the kids were all left in the infant bucket seats way too long, and then placed forward facing early. Maybe the laws are different but here kids are supposed to be minimum 1 year AND 22 lbs before forward facing. And for those infant bucket seats, usually kids are out of them by 6-9 months due to their length. It seems all the parents missed the rear facing but out of bucket seat stage. Regardless, even now that they are forward facing, most of the time the straps are way too loose and the chest part is not at their chests!

2) I can tell some parts of it are staged, which is annoying. Did anyone else notice when Farrah's water broke, supposedly at 2:00 am, she called her mom, who ran in immediately, FULLY dressed and hair done. Then she immediately grabbed her coat which was conviently beside the bed. Ummm, when my water broke, I needed to change my pants! If it was enough to get the bed wet, I would think she would have wanted to change. I understand MTV wasn't likely camped out at their house every night just in case that happend, however, they shouldn't have recreated it, that is just too fake in my opinion. They could have just talked about what happened, like with the assault incident with Farrah when they weren't there to record that.

3) I went back and watched the 16 and pregnants of these girls and thought it was interesting how Brandon and Theresa didn't get to see Carly until like 6 hours after birth. When I watched the first teen mom recap show, it looked like Tyler and Catelyn didn't even want to see Carly when she was born, but then they must have had a big turn around, and I do think they had second thoughts, so I'm really glad they went through with it. It was obviously the right decision.

4) Kyle reminds me of Landry from Friday night lights, just his looks, but also his shyness and quietness. I do think moving away was a good thing for Maci, but I also think she rushed into it. I do agree she needed to gain some independence, but I also think she should have gotten to know Kyle more first before moving her whole life.. essentially for him.

5) I found it interesting that Gary gave Amber those flowers. And while she kept them and didn't toss them, they stayed on her table and when she said her and Chris had been dating for a few weeks, and she was going to introduce him to Leah, the flowers were still on the table. Then when he moved in... the FLOWERS were STILL ON THE TABLE!!! Seriously, either how long did these super flowers live, or was that a crazy short amount of time.

6) I could tell Amber had lost a lot of weight in the second season, but I'm not sure how, and while they did mention she likes to work out, they never did show it.

7) I really do feel for Farrah in how her mother acts regarding Sophia. I understand Debra loves Sophia, but she is obsessive about it. She is always calling the baby "my baby", and completely ignores everything else, including Farrah, when Sophia is around. She is very controllng, and I can understand Farrah wanting her own indpendence. The violence is also scary, and I feel we're not seeing the whole picture.

8) I thought Debra and Michael were getting a divorce??

9) I feel bad for Maci about how Ryan was the first year. He was a terrible father and partner. He does seem to have changed at least some, as Bentley always seems sad to leave him.

10) I feel bad for Catelyn in that abusive situation. But I also feel she is a little bit of a liar and manipulator. Calling the ex behind Tylers back and then lying about it is one example. But another would be the school thing. She was telling everyone she was getting A's and B's, and then all of a sudden she is nearly failing and won't graduate and she finds this out like the day before graduation?? That part was pretty fake. I just wonder what else we're not hearing the whole truth about from her. Tyler also seems to change his mind around a lot about what he wants to do. Air force, paramedic, counsellor with youth etc.

10) All I have to say is that if all this goes on with the cameras rolling... what happens when no one is watching??? :confused3

Well it's a whole new season of Teen Mom: whew, Jenelle-2 words anger management or restraining order.

this season is sure to be a hot mess once again. Jenelle is this season's Amber.

It's a toss-up between Amber and Jenelle for worst teen mom of the year award. Jenelle is horrible! But the mom needs to take some accountability too, but at least she seems to take good care of the baby. She should have put her foot down with Jenelle a long time ago. Now she is just a monster.

It's a bad situation all around. I feel so bad for that baby.

I see Jenelle as another Farah, wanting to party and then wants her parents to watch the baby all the time.

The whole situation with the all the ppl. in the Jenelle situation, just scare the crap out of me. They're both (Jenelle and her mom) freakin crazy, and neither seem to care much about the baby. They both (especially Jenelle's mom) seem to use the baby as a tool against the other. Honestly, I think that situation is even worse than Amber/Leah/Gary from Teen Mom 1, which is horrifying. When I first saw 16 & pregnant with Jenelle, she came across as a total witch, and I wished she hadn't kept the baby. I still think she's a total witch, but I think her mom is also a total witch and I think her mom is malicious, and very manipulative. I think she tries to purposely push Jenelle's buttons, and Jenelle's just too immature to see that. I don't know what I'd do if I had a mother like that. Personally, I think Jenelle's mom is even worse than Jenelle, and I think she's pretty much scum. I feel HORRIBLE for Jace, and I wish they would've given him up for adoption, neither of them are fit to raise a child. It's really scary and soooo sad.

I hope Leah and Cory get back together too.

I don't have much to say on the Jo/boyfriend baby thing. She seems okay, lots of childhood issues, but otherwise seems okay. Not sure about him at all, and I don't really remember them from 16 & pregnant. Jo's mom seems like a total loser. I can't believe she wouldn't offer to give her child and grandchild a place to live. Thank goodness the boyfriends mom seems to care about them all.

The other girl...she never should've moved out, and she needs some serious counseling. It looks like she does get back with that verbally abusive guy, and honestly after what he said about the baby, I really do judge her in letting him come back into her life like that. I know she lacks a lot of self-confidence, and I do feel bad for her, but there comes a point where you have to put if not yourself, your kid's best interest 1st priority, and the babies dad is a piece of crap.

I totally agree that Jenelle's baby is just a pawn in a sick game between mom and Jenelle. But between the two, at least the mom seems to take care of the baby. Jenelle just walks out the door. Too bad there isn't another family member that could take care of the baby, because that is not a good home to raise a child in.
