Just watched yesterdays show and I can't tell you how sick I am of Joe. As a man, Joe's dad should have reigned him in when it comes to how he treated Kail when she came to give him the check and pick up her stuff. DH would NEVER let DS get away with acting like that. He saw the show and was upset because he thought Joe's dad should have checked his sons attitude at the door...

"Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood recently pled guilty to domestic battery charges.

"Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood was rushed to a hospital in her home state of Indiana after a suicide attempt, police confirmed after Star magazine's exclusive report via Radar Online.

"Late this morning (11:34 a.m.), Anderson Police responded to a call at a residence. ... According to the caller, 21-year-old Amber L. Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life," the police report stated.
According to the Star report, Portwood's ex-fiance, Gary Shirley, was concerned about the 21-year-old mother of his child and asked his mom to check on her. The police report states that a "relative" called police to have someone check on her.

A source told the magazine about the scene that greeted emergency workers: "When two EMT workers arrived, they removed the rope that Amber had loosely knotted around her neck," the source revealed. "They tried speaking with her, but she was in and out of consciousness and couldn't respond. She was just moaning. They gave her an oxygen mask, put her on a gurney and rushed her to the hospital."

Portwood also admitted at the hospital that she had taken pills, a source told Star.

MTV has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Last Thursday, Portwood pled guilty to two counts of felony domestic battery for repeatedly punching and kicking Shirley, who is the father of her daughter, Leah. The violence was captured and aired by MTV during season two of the docuseries. A judge suspended her two-year sentence, but put her on two years of probation.

In May, Portwood lost custody of Leah after a judge ruled that Shirley was a more suitable parent, but not because she was an unfit mother. Child Protective Services recommended Shirley get full custody because of recent vandalism to Portwood's home and vehicle, and because the agency was worried about her living conditions.

Season three of "Teen Mom" returns on July 5.

Amber~ She tells a therapist that she is not sure she wants to be with Gary but still gets back together with him? At least she dumped that creep Chris. It will be interesting to see how the arrest plays out this season.

Farrah~ She drove me nuts. She was complaining left and right last season about money yet goes out and gets a loan to get enhancement surgery. That was completely irresponsible of her.

Maci~ I love her. She seems like she has got her head in the right place and Bentley is just too adorable. Ryan killed me though when he texted Maci to ask her if Kyle was slow.

Catelynn~ I feel so bad for her. She needs to get out of her situation. I am not sure that moving in with Tyler is the best idea but she needs to get out.

This is just so sad and one more check in the box for Gary to continue to have full custody of Leah. (Wish it was even more stable than that for sweet Leah...) Amber needs some serious counseling and unless life's circumstances change drastically for her, I really am afraid for her. Part of me just wants to think she likes the attention, but part of me really feels she truly feels that desperate. I know MTV's point of Teen Mom is to showcase the trials and tribulations of being a teen mom, but I hope that they seriously consider helping her get help and getting her out of the limelight where she can get her life together off-camera.

I dislike Amber so much that I doubt I'll be watching this season. I have just had enough of her in the news that I don't have any desire to follow along every week right in her face. Plus I'm disgusting that Farrah is spending money on ****s when A) she had to take out a loan that'll need to be paid back and B) with a toddler there are more worthy things to spend money on.

My take on the Farrah situation is that she's obviously gotten a bit of $$ from doing this show for 3? seasons now so she got some enhancements. I can't fault her, she's young and she's getting paid not only from MTV but she probably can get $$ from different magazines and publishings for 'selling' her story. Let's face it, these moms are 'celebrities' now!

Can't say I care too much about any of the girls anymore. With all the tabloid news that gets published every week I feel I'm watching a show that's already outdated. I already know what happens with Maci and Amber and Farrah. Caitlin seems to stay out of the tabloids.

yes, he is her real dad. why does she keep calling him Michael? because he ALLOWS it. I get the impression that he needs to grow a pair with both Farrah and her mom.

Farah and all the other cast now are receiveing some pretty good money. When you watch any of these shows you can't really judge like it's true reality. Things are much different from the first season, now they are all in pretty decent financial shape. I have no issues with Farah getting implants and the reality is that she will get more opportunities from it

I don't think her mom was SUPPORTIVE of that purchase -- if she had been, she'd have paid for it or she'd have co-signed the loan. Instead, I think Farrah made the decision, got the loan, and Mom realized she couldn't stop her from making a mistake -- and if she fussed about it, she'd only provoke another fight.

I don't think her mom's as bad as she's made out to be. Most of the time her advice to Farrah has been dead-on; it's just that she chooses to present it in a poor way. And if I had to deal with Farrah's "Mom, you're too stupid to live -- oh, please bail me out of trouble!" attitude, I might hit her too. That's one screwed up family.

Amber needs some serious counseling

Nah, counseling would be worthless for Amber. Counseling is for people who have small-to-moderate problems, and who are strongly motiviated to solve their problems.

I am 100% certain that Amber's issues are largely chemical in nature. SHE NEEDS MEDICATION. Even if she could see that she's her own worst enemy, even if she had the best advice in the world, even if she had a supportive family surrounding her every step of the way . . . that girl's not capable of controling herself and making changes. It's in her DNA. It's in her genes.

She's excellent at justifying /rationalizing purchases. She NEEDED a car with automatic locks and a sunroof -- and she handled it stupidly. She NEEDED an apartment -- and all she can manage is her mom's rental house. She's very much an adolescent, who is ruled by her emotions . . . but who is smart enough to make up a few "reasons" why such-and-such is a good idea.

I think they said it was about $5,000!

FOR NOW. They'll need replacing in ten years, then in another ten years, then in another ten years or so -- hope Farrah has enough cash at that point to have the surgery again . . . and again . . . and again. Really, that's not a maintenance-free surgery.

Amber revealed she makes $280,000 a year in court last year. I assume some of the money comes from interviews, but they all give interviews.

'Teen Mom' barred from seeing child's father

Amber Portwood released from jail, reveals that she earns $280K a year

ANDERSON, Ind. — MTV “Teen Mom” reality star and Anderson native Amber Portwood is free from jail, but has been barred from contacting her ex-fiance, Gary Shirley.

Portwood was arrested Monday on two felony counts and a misdemeanor count of domestic battery and one felony count of neglect of a dependant.

Portwood was released from jail after a 24-hour hold when she posted $5,000 bond.

As she left the Madison County Jail on Tuesday, the reality star was greeted by nine photographers and reporters.

A reporter for The Herald Bulletin was inside the jail as Portwood exited. The reality star seemed surprised by the number of reporters outside, and instructed her mother, Tonya Portwood, and her grandmother to keep their chins up. She also told them not to block their faces from the cameras.

Earlier in the day, Portwood appeared before Madison County magistrate Steven Clase via a video feed from the jail for her initial hearing.

During the hearing, Portwood told Clase her occupation was a “television personality” and he asked her to reveal her annual income.

Her attorney, Kathleen Sweeney, responded, “I object.”

“You what?” Clase asked Sweeney.

Sweeney questioned the relevance of the question and Clase promptly overruled the objection, forcing Portwood to reveal that she makes $140,000 for a six-month contract with MTV.

If she works the entire year, Portwood said, the 20-year-old makes $280,000 annually.

Portwood’s criminal charges stem from a Sept. 28 episode of “Teen Mom” in which the reality star is filmed hitting, kicking and punching then-fiance Gary Shirley, the father of her 2-year-old daughter, Leah.

Dozens of viewers called the state’s child abuse hotline to report the abuse, according to Anne Houseworth of the Indiana Department of Child Services.

Viewers also called the Anderson Police Department, tipping police off to the ongoing domestic violence in the Portwood home.

When police began investigating Portwood, they subpoenaed MTV’s unedited film footage and found two other instances of violence caught on film.

Two instances of alleged domestic abuse were witnessed by Portwood’s daughter, which is why two of the charges are felonies, according to Anderson police Detective Mitch Carroll.

During Portwood’s court appearance, Clase placed her under a “no contact” order regarding Shirley.

Portwood sobbed openly as Clase informed her that if she made any attempt to contact Shirley she would return to jail.

Shirley, who attended the hearing with Portwood’s mother, asked Clase how long the order will last.

There was no expiration date set on the order, and it must be lifted by a judge.

Clase warned Shirley that even if he encouraged Portwood to contact him, she would suffer the consequences of breaking the order.

Awaiting her daughter’s release from jail on Tuesday, Tonya Portwood was upset at the sight of photographers waiting outside the jail. “It’s ridiculous,” she said.

She said the Portwood family celebrated Christmas on Monday due to scheduling conflicts, but that Amber hadn’t opened her Christmas presents because she had to report to jail.

Madison County Prosecutor-elect Rodney Cummings doesn’t take office until Saturday, but will prosecute Portwood’s case.

He doesn’t expect that the reality star will do any more jail time.

Cummings said Portwood won’t receive special treatment, but the court will consider the fact that she is a first-time offender. “With a Class D felony, I can’t think of anyone that goes to jail on his or her first offense.”

Cummings admitted he’s been very surprised by the media attention on Portwood. “It just shows the evolution of our culture. There was a time when young women would be pregnant in high school and they’d have to move out of town. It seems it’s no longer a source of embarrassment. It’s a badge of honor. I don’t know what that says about our culture.”
