Kat,

I logged on to my fav local station to get you the answer about the weather and instead I see this:

High-speed chases goes from Rocky Mount, into Wake County
Shots were reportedly fired during a high-speed chase that began in Rocky Mount and entered Wake County on U.S. Highway 64 West, according to the state Highway Patrol.

Ok, my DH left the mall in Rocky Mount at 4:01 PM travelling on hwy 64 to Wake County.

I just called him and he said as he was leaving the mall, he noticed a bunch of police activity and wondered why he has seen them at every bridge on 64.

But to answer you question, Kat, I am handling the weather fine; it's 70 degrees. ;)

Turns out the car has VA tags. I bet it's Katt trying to return my gift tags.

HOLY MOLEY! At least he wasn't anywhere near it!

I think next year christmas in a warm place is needed for me! And by warm place I don't mean this house, inside of which I am wearing only shorts and a tee!

Okies so pictures...... I stole some from facebook, and some are mine....

I'm back to listen to some more Christmas music and get some cleaning done....

Hi everyone !! It's snowing and absolutely YUCKY here !! As fast as you shovel or snowblow it blows back and looks like you did nothing ! I'm on call for 2 houses today and as usual when I am on call ***** happens !! I 'm waiting for the call offs that they can't get outta the driveway ! Last year a Gal told me she didn't have a shovel! To which I replied and you have lived in WNY How Long !!!I've already had 1 call off and filled that but it's theother house that bothers me they are jerks !!

Well, I sent DD4 to preschool today. Her fever was gone and she hadn't gotten sick since Wed. dinnertime. She did pretty well. She had the Christmas party and had fun. Didn't participate too much in the songs, but seemed to enjoy herself.

I'm so glad she's feeling better!

Who's up for a glass of wine and some caroling? ;)

Sounds great! But I'm out of wine, and I probably shouldn't have TOO much until I know I don't have to go get my kids. ;)

I always stress situations like that and then I am fine once I get there! We got home late and boy were we tipsy lol.

Glad you had fun!

Dude, do you live in the forest or what? It's so pretty!

Thanks! I like it, except when it falls on my deck. :rotfl: Seriously, we're pretty surrounded. We have an acre and it's mostly wooded. We're close to neighbors, but can't see in their houses, and there are no houses on the other side of our street. :thumbsup2 I like it as I'm a country girl, you know?

I have to carol with a bunch of Girl Scouts tonight. I wonder if anyone will notice if I drink wine instead of hot cocoa? :rolleyes1 I just knew those stupid refillable mugs from WDW would come in handy!

Sounds good to me!

only when you start singing "Fra ra ra ra ra" :lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

****************************************
D made it safely to his hotel. :thumbsup2

The plows just went by, so if I need to, I should be able to drive - they are definitely on top of it. I might have to snowblow a bit at the steepest bit of my driveway to get out quickly (I'll definitely do it tomorrow, all the way.)

It's falling so heavily, though, that visibility is a big issue, but they say it's super light, not super wet and heavy, which is SO much easier to deal with, though it accumulates faster this way. But I won't be worried about breaking the snowblower! :rotfl: And it's easier to shovel. ::yes::

I did get my dad's next thing and the girls that we have Christmas dinner with. I really am nearly done! I need to buy the teacher present, now that I got all the contributions that I can before Monday. We should be able to give her a very nice gift card!

I'll be popping in and out, likely. I think I might watch "Love Actually" since I am alone and it's kind of girly. ;)

My Christmas Tree Angel showed up.. and she had some Strange gift tags with her :rotfl2:

:lmao::rotfl2: :lmao::rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I just got an response and she said his current events have not been his best work and she hasn't been able to read some of his homework assignments. Urrg, why couldn't she say after the first few that his grade would be affected so he could get ahold of the situation?

 What! that is just wrong! I'd get mad too.

I feel ya on the holiday spirit. I am going through the motions of Xmas but I'm not that in the spirit! I told KC we need to have kids quick to make Christmas better for me LOL! Sorry u and BF are fighting, want me to kick his butt??;)

::yes:: :hug:

CE: I looooove the snow picture. Yes I'm a snow freak, sue me. That was beautiful. :lovestruc

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

I had a loverly nap with the furbabies :cat: and am now off to the work "party". I hope there's not much traffic.

I just wanted to log on and say that I got my SS gift and it's so darn adorable! She went WAY overboard! Thanky ou so much, SS!

I'll try to post pics of both my ornament, which is already on display and my SS gift tomorrow when I have a minute. :thumbsup2

Now I'm going to read the posts before I have to take B to dance at Schilitterbahn.

OMG.

The roads are AWFUL. Thank goodness Bob was driving because I wouldn't have left the house. We got 12 inches of snow. The plow still hasn't been by our house, which is a sort of main rd. Our street (in the subdivision) won't see a plow for a week or more, at least. So, I'd assumed that we'd struggle (even with 4WD) out to the Major main rd. and then it'd be plowed. NOPE. Not even the highway (we drove over it) was plowed!!! Bob put my truck in 4wd and we made it to Kroger for groceries.

I got what I needed for the week, and the party tomorrow night. Then we grabbed two pizzas and came home. We were gone for a little over an hour. As we were coming down the main rd. to our house, Bob slowed down a bit and the FOOT of snow on my roof all slid forward and down the windshield. It completely blocked the windshield, and he couldn't turn on the wipers!! I was freaking out! I'm like, "OMG, OMG! I can't see, can you?????" He says, "Uh, no. What do we do?" So we slowed down, tried to keep the truck straight and he reached out the window and made a tiny little hole to see out of through the windshield.

That adventure was enough to last a lifetime. Once we got into the street he hopped out into the huge snowdrift and cleaned off the window on his side so he could pull up the driveway. I said, "So, why didn't you clean off the roof?" He glared at me. :confused3

Seemed like a reasonable question to me.

:rotfl2:

Dude, I'm SOOOOO up for wine.

Be sure to mention to BF that I was a pro wrestler...I can send u some videos of me kicking big guys butts to scare him- he will be the nicest guy ever after I'm done! ;) :thumbsup2

Have fun at the party!

Dude, I'm SOOOOO up for wine.

Jeez!!! I hate snow I can't even imagine how it is for you guys with 3 X's the snow I have. It's already gone here! A bit stuck to cars that havent moved and roofs but thats IT!

We are in the midst of cleaning and laundry I just needed a break for a few...I'll be in and out all day as KC plans to spend some quality time with his friend XBOX tonight and not me!

Just a quick check-in. Got home from the doctor with DD4. It seems that she has strep! :scared1: I learned that in younger kids (under age 5-6), strep doesn't always show up as a sore throat. It can be cold symptoms, fever and vomiting. Who knew? Anyway, the rash was a tell-tale sign and she's now on amoxil. Now gotta hope that DD7 doesn't catch it too!

Dude, Mel! You're scaring me!

Kat, it's gone, really? It's still pouring down here - we probably have about 6 inches so far. I shoveled the walk to take the dog out, and it's very nice and light. :thumbsup2

I'm watching Love Actually. I do love this movie, too, Z! Watch it, it will improve your spirits!

Jodi, I'm so sorry!

Met him through a friend at Chili's. As soon as I saw him...I liked him!
I met my DH at Chili's too. That is way weird!

NOPE.. My "Focker Ornament" has not come yet :guilty: :guilty:
Have you gotten your SS gift? My Ornament just arrived yesterday. I will up load my pictures. I love it all!

Kristel- That is AWESOME NEWS!!!!:cool1:

JenJen- Troy sounds like a nice guy. I am happy, if you are happy.:)

V- Keep yourself busy.
_____________
I am more than half way done with my wrapping!:cool1: I attended a wrapping party last night where we wrapped and drank Pomegranate Martini's YUMMMMMMMMMY! I am vegging out all night and tomorrow will be baking with my friend. Baking is a tough thing, since my "mom" and I always baked, baked, baked. I am fortunate to have good girlfriends to help me through it.

Are we all posting Holiday pictures of our houses decorated? I am loving seeing them! It's like driving by and peaking in the windows. ;)

LOVE Katts soft tree! :cloud9:

Jodi, I'm so sorry!

It's not so bad. At least I got it figured out before the weekend! And it's easily treatable with antibiotics. I'd almost rather have something like strep than to have the doctor tell me "it's just a virus!" I hate it when they say that!

Hi ladies, guess who is done with school until the second week of January? Boy am I glad to be done. I still have not gotten my tree up, wrapped the presents, made the cookies, and my house is in such a state I do not even know where to begin cleaning. I will also be off work for the next two weeks and look forward to spending some quality time with the kids and you all. Hope everyone is doing well.

Those of you getting hit with the snow, BE CAREFUL! It's a great time to hunker down and snuggle up with a great book, the Christmas lights and those you love.

Jodi- Tink had strep when we were in WDW and I didn't know it. The doctor told me that little ones can even "get through it" on their own without meds. WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN? :confused3 I hope she feels better soon!

She got over the fever yesterday, so I probably would have not taken her had it not been for the rash. DD7 had the same rash when she had strep as a four year old, so I recognized it. That's why I took her in. When the nurse practitioner saw it, she did a strep test immediately. She's acting just fine right now. Pestering her sister and everything. She'll be good to go in 24 hours and we'll go visit grandma on Sunday at the hospital. I know she's anxious to see the girls, but we don't want to take any chances with her. She should not be exposed to anything being in the state she's in.

Here is a little story for you all about my gross lazy neighbor.
They had a dog this last summer that they took really bad care of. I called the authorities on them once and now they will not talk to me at all. Not a bad thing since they are just not my kind of people. Well for a long time I did not see the dog and all the stuff in the yard for it was gone. I thought great, they realize they can not care for animals and sent him to a good home.

Well I have no idea what happened to the other dog but today I noticed they have a new puppy. How did I notice this you may ask? Since the weather is bad and the lady is to lazy to shovel a small path to the yard, she has been standing inside the door with the dog going potty on the porch:scared1: . Yep, the front porch. Then her, her husband, and any friends today, have been walking on the same porch to get in and out of the house. It is not a big porch that the dog could go off to the side. No he was on the leash just outside the door. All I can think is how gross to have to walk in that and then into the living room. They also have a son who is still crawling. Yep, he is now crawling on that gross floor:sad2: .

I just got an response and she said his current events have not been his best work and she hasn't been able to read some of his homework assignments. Urrg, why couldn't she say after the first few that his grade would be affected so he could get ahold of the situation?

Nice of her to let you know:rolleyes:

There's really nothing to report. She's still lying in a hospital bed in a c-collar staring at the ceiling. At least they're letting her eat solid food now, although it's hard to chew with the collar on. They still don't know what they're going to do to treat her. She can't have an MRI because of the metal clips in her head, so they're proceeding very cautiously. I assume that's because they can't tell definitely whether anything is broken or not. So, it's just wait and see right now. Eric contacted an attorney yesterday, just to make sure that they get a decent settlement from the insurance company (above and beyond all the medical expenses, of course). She's in lots of pain and the drugs are making her hallucinate.

I hope things improve soon:goodvibes

Then, we went to DD7's party at school. Luckily there were extra snacks for DD4, so she was happy. Got home from there and unpacked the car!

You were running around alot today :faint:

Just back from a quick run into Target to get my niece a birthday card...Good grief! It seems all the world waited until today to do Christmas shopping!

Jim went shopping on Tuesday (nothing like waiting until the last minute:rolleyes: ) and he said it wasn't too crowded!

Who's up for a glass of wine and some caroling?

I'll be here, but no drinking or I will pass out :faint:

So the company party was GREAT!

Glad you had fun:thumbsup2

Where is everyone? Out shopping for my present?

::yes:: :rolleyes1

Wait it gets better - she proceeds to wake Evan up and tell him it snowed. LOL!!

:rotfl:

Dude, 50 is COLD! 40 and I'm in pain.

:sad2:

I have to carol with a bunch of Girl Scouts tonight. I wonder if anyone will notice if I drink wine instead of hot cocoa? :rolleyes1 I just knew those stupid refillable mugs from WDW would come in handy!

I think they will do just fine, but isn't it wierd the first time they don't sleep at home!

D made it safely to his hotel. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear it!

I had a loverly nap with the furbabies :cat: and am now off to the work "party". I hope there's not much traffic.

HAve fun :wave2:

Oh no Jodi. You just have not been having a good week!:goodvibes

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Evening all! Home from work and glad to be in my nice warm, dry house! THe rain is awful, but I will take it over snow anyday ::yes::

Nothing planned for tonight. Lot's tomorrow and Sunday. TOmorrow Jim is taking his sister out shopping and then they are coming back here so we can bake cookies. While they are gone Jimmy and I are gong to build a Ginerbread Christmas Train from a kit we got from some sale fundraiser Jim's school was having.

On Sunday we are going to get the pasta and fish I need for Christmas Eve.

I'll be around tonight though. No drunken Spanish though, please. I'm too tired to keep up!
