Italian ice is a frozen dessert made from either concentrated syrup flavoring or fruit purees. It is not shaved ice that is flavored, rather, it is made by the same process by which ice cream is made: mixing ingredients and pouring them into a batch freezer. Common flavors include cherry, coconut, piña colada, blueberry, and lemon. Some specialty shops also sell a wider array of flavors, such as cantaloupe, orange and chocolate.

Well, I knew what Italian ice is - just never heard it called "water ice." :rotfl:

I'd love to visit Philly! :goodvibes

We are going to try virtual public school.

Cool!

CE, I did the same thing with books 6 and 7. I just wanted to remind myself of the story line. :laughing: I couldn't put them down.

I started re-reading 6 before 7 came out, but we were going on vacation (and yes, I had 7 pre-ordered and sent to my mother's house, so it would be there when I got there :rotfl2:) and I didn't get it finished and didn't want to carry it with. I really wished I had, because I would have liked to have remembered more of it before reading 7 the first time.

I thought it was pretty funny, though, that I couldn't put it down again last night. ;)

The school gives us a computer/printer on loan and a stipend for the internet. The curriculum shows up mid-August and they start the 25th. It's a major adjustment, but I think in the end it will be worth it.

That really does sound seriously cool! Good luck!

Hiya Peeps!

Well the Dis just dumped my whole quote update. I'm not repeating it. What is up with it lately? Very frustrating. If it wasn't for you guys, I wouldn't be here any more.

Sorry - that's frustrating. But thanks for sticking with it! :thumbsup2

Awww:hug:. Was that his first time sleeping away from home
Well, it was his first attempt at it. :lmao: He's such a mama's boy. :lovestruc

:faint: Why did you have him over? :lmao:

We call that sorbet, Janet. ;)

I'm bored. And PMSing. Andy's staying far away from me. Come to think of it, everyone is. :confused3:lmao:

I supposed I should work on the heap of carp in my room that needs sorting and packing. Don't know why I'm procrastinating. :rolleyes:

:yay: When the boys get older, around the 4th grade and start studying the Constitution;)

Surely the squats will help with those muscles, no?
So I was hoping, but no. :sad2: Only one strenuous activity I've tried in my life worked the same muscles as riding... child birth. :rolleyes: :faint:

As it is, #1 is on the verge of knowing more math than I do.
Dude - Leo's doing math I don't know, lol!
My teaching certification is in middle and high school English, so I can talk all day about the merits of a 12 line sonnet, but toss anything other than basic algebra at me and I panic.
Just one of the reasons we understand each other so well! :goodvibes Imagine my joy when Leo announced the other night that he had a "story in his head that needed to come out" and disappeared into his room for 30 minutes to WRITE!!! :yay::banana::cheer2:

We call that sorbet, Janet. ;)
:faint: Not the same at all! I need to get LL to add some Italian Ice to her GG order for you. ;)

Why as a matter of fact, it IS...The Focker's Locker is what I named it!!:lmao:
OMG, you rock! :thumbsup2:lmao::rotfl2:

Now I really, really want one. Just to name it "Focker's Locker - the Wannabe."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, shoot. My riding lesson pretty much sucked and all I'm left with are ouchy thighs. The poor horse had been with the kids all day in horse camp and just did not want to work. It was 90 and humid... I didn't much want to work either, so I couldn't blame him.
Nothing new... just plodding along...
:hug: Happy Anniversary Jo and David!!! :hug:
We are going to try virtual public school. The state has contracted with Calvert School in Maryland, where I got #1's curriculum from last year. So they are doing the Calvert curriculum through the state. They stay home...they have an online teacher, plus an at home teacher (me), and the state keeps all the records. Record keeping was becoming a nightmare with the three boys. And, honestly, the day is rapidly approaching where I can't offer them what they need. Virtual school is a step toward a bricks and mortar classroom. As it is, #1 is on the verge of knowing more math than I do.
Oh, and Debra, I have a rising first grader, fourth grader and eighth
grader.
CE, I did the same thing with books 6 and 7. I just wanted to remind myself of the story line. :laughing: I couldn't put them down.
I hope it turns out to be a wise decision. We really just needed more for them...mostly the oldest, for now. My teaching certification is in middle and high school English, so I can talk all day about the merits of a 12 line sonnet, but toss anything other than basic algebra at me and I panic.
The school gives us a computer/printer on loan and a stipend for the internet. The curriculum shows up mid-August and they start the 25th. It's a major adjustment, but I think in the end it will be worth it.
That sounds really cool, Kate. :thumbsup2 If there were more choices around here I could afford, I might keep B at home longer. Austin's too expensive. She's at the point of needing Algebra and Biology and I'm not interested in relearning all of it. :scared1: I'm excited about school and so is she. I'll focus on my younger two and give them what B got. :thumbsup2
If you find motivation, can you send some to me? I HAVE to start getting ready for this trip, and want to sit here on the computer. :rotfl:
Too funny! :rotfl2:
Hi, Janet!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, JANET & JIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, S'late!
So I was hoping, but no. :sad2: Only one strenuous activity I've tried in my life worked the same muscles as riding... child birth. :rolleyes: :faint:
:rotfl: Not exactly something you can practice often...
Well, shoot. My riding lesson pretty much sucked and all I'm left with are ouchy thighs. The poor horse had been with the kids all day in horse camp and just did not want to work. It was 90 and humid... I didn't much want to work either, so I couldn't blame him.
I'm sorry. Yuck.
I'll focus on my younger two and give them what B got. :thumbsup2
Makes sense to me!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, JO & DAVID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
************************************************
Not much up here this morning. The boys didn't get up until 8:30, and I didn't get up until about 9:00. They are still on the Wii, so no breakfast yet, even, and I have just been catching up here. I'd like to do the Active, so I'll probably get them some breakfast soon and get on that. But by the time that's all done, it's going to be half the day gone, which is stupid. I am subbing into the singles class again tonight, so that takes up some time.
I am feeling really unmotivated to work on packing up for the lake, but I really need to think about it. I have to have the house ready for a night of company when we get back, too, so I should get my hiney into gear and work on at least the guest room and the office, which have the potential to stay clean until we are back. And I have no desire to do any of it. :sad2: D's back tomorrow, and I feel like I've somewhat wasted my "free time" - but then, the kids are home, so it's not like my normal free time. We were gone pretty much all day yesterday, and I just don't like to do chores after dinner. :rotfl2:
I have tomorrow, too, though, and if I get myself going today, I might be more interested tomorrow, too.
Sigh.
I'm sure I'll be back - we should only be gone from about 3:45 to 5:45 or so, and we know how I clean... ;)
Hope everyone has a good day! :grouphug:
Morning All !!! Had some excitement this a.m. Had to go into work even though I'm OFF !! A consumer took off and I had to go find her !!:eek: Also overnight someone slashed the tire on the work van !! I mean sliced it ..The staff called the police who did NOTHING infact they insinuated that staff did it !! Yeah Right or that someone hit it with a car!! Now a 10" slice was clearly visible !! Just make out the report :confused3 Just a really hectic morning !!:scared:
Well my big news is I have the link to my ptr in my siggie , can you believe it Thanks inkedupmomma for guiding me thru that !!:hug:
Brown people say sorbet? :confused3 :lmao:
Nope, brown people would call that ice cream. Anything sweet and frozen is ice cream. But I'm a little edumacated, so I know better. It's sorbet. ;)
If you find motivation, can you send some to me? I HAVE to start getting ready for this trip, and want to sit here on the computer. :rotfl:
Sure... uh huh... yeah. I'm sitting here again knowing darn well my laundry's ready to be switched out. :rolleyes1
I have tomorrow, too, though, and if I get myself going today, I might be more interested tomorrow, too.
Yes, yes... tomorrow. Tomorrow sounds good. :lmao:
I just got the call that my DVC contract is closing today! :banana::banana:
Whoo HOOO!!!! Welcome Home! :hug:
*********************************************
Got a lot to do, just not feeling like doing it. Who knew I'd be 15 days from vacation and not packed. Somethings just not right.:confused3 I even blew off my PTR. :rolleyes:
The contractor is coming today to measure the kitchen and bring a cabinet sample, I'm supposed to be doing laundry and organizing our vacation stuff. Big heavy *sigh*. :guilty:
I did do my binder, so that's a step in the right direction. :teeth:
Have a great day, everyone! :flower3:
I have been cleaning all day long. I cleaned Omicron's room on Sunday from top to bottom. Every drawer, closet, under the bed, behind his dresser, EVERYWHERE.
OMG Deb you're so good, do you want to do my kids rooms too? :rotfl2:
I stayed up until after 2:00 and read the whole dang thing through again. :rotfl:
You're terrible CE :rotfl2:
Yikes :hug:
I've just been chatting to a friend about singing lessons for Ells, I've emailed the person she told me about already and name dropped, I even said Ellie made her cry at the show on Monday when she sung :rotfl2: Well she did so I thought I might as well say so :rotfl:
We're going out to eat tonight, even though it's our anniversary we're taking the girls, we enjoy their company so it should be nice :thumbsup2
I am one tired chica! Went to the midnight show of Harry Potter. Ended up runnign into my new friend from work so we hung with her and her boyfriend on the long line and sat together. That made it extra fun! The movie was great! We'll see it in IMAX sometime in the next month.
Rant Ahead:
Before we ran into my friend tho, we were having a "talk" about Disney.
Apparently KC decided to do a budget with an Excel Spreadsheet and after seeing what we owe exactly and what not, thinks we "shouldn't do it". He won't say "NO" because he doesn't really wanna take it away from me, but he wants me to come to his dark side and not go.
I'm really upset about it.
I resigned myself to not going this year, because thats what we talked about. I was ok with it. Then he said yes and I got hyped, started planning, and now he wants me to give it up. Frankly, I feel like crying.
So today I am going to go over exact numbers and make a real number budget for the trip and for savings and bill payment while we save up for the trip. I am determined.
As much as I like working for the store, I am busting my a$$ hardcore and if it's only going to be for 6 months I want it to have a payoff. I feel like the trip is my payoff for all the hard work. I don't mind working at all, in fact I like getting out if the house, but this is physically mo0re than I should be doing and I don't know if I'll stay if there is no real light at the end of the tunnel, ya know?!
Anyways I have lots of research to do to convince him this is a good idea. :upsidedow
It's been a long day. Woody is just being a horrible terror. I do not know what's going on there. :sad2:
I have only managed, so far, to make my packing list and a partial food list (I don't know if we want to cook dinners at the house or eat out mostly - I need to ask D what he's envisioning...) I dusted in the formal living room and cleared the junk out of the guest room - just extra blankets and the pack & play and gate and so forth that were still there from our last company. The office actually wasn't as bad as I thought. Phew. Once I started just straightening up, nothing is too out of place. It's where I keep small bins for markers, pencils, crayons, stickers, etc. for the kids, and while the lids are off, most of it is actually put away - just needs to be restacked. :thumbsup2 And there's not as much "I don't know what to do with it, so I'll stick in it there" as I feared. :rotfl2:
So, I guess I'm accomplishing a little, but not a lot. D was moving today from Seattle to Chicago, so I don't think I can call him right now about the food question.
I probably should get some laundry in, and we go to the gym in about an hour and a half. Sigh.
