Taxi from Epcot to airport?

Hey all! I am thinking of skipping ME and taking a taxi from Epcot direct to MCO because it will give me about 2 extra hours. DH (no kids for us yet) is leaving a day earlier with our checked bag from AKL, so I'll just have my tiny backpack carryon. If I want to arrive at MCO on a Tuesday evening at 5:40, what time should I look for a cab in the Epcot parking lot? Also does anyone have an idea of the fare?

I would skip the cab unless you are fine with spending more than $50 on a fare. I would recommend using supershuttle shared van service from one of the Epcot resorts (IE Boardwalk). It's $20 but if you find a coupon code online it will be cheaper. You may have to make a couple stops to pick up more passengers before getting to the airport but this is what I would do. Just my 2 cents.

If you do take a cab, I would leave around 5:15. It takes about 25 minutes to get to the airport from Disney.

If you are in WS, you can walk to the BC through the Intl Gtwy. There are always cabs in the front or the attendant can call you one.

You can get a sense of the prices using TaxiFareFinder. There are taxis at the front of Epcot (near the bus stops) normally. And as the PP said, there are usually taxis near the valet stands at the Epcot Resorts (the Beach Club or Boardwalk are the closest).

2 extra hours? Are you sure? DME used to pick us up +/- 3 hours in advance... It never gave us much time at the airport, even with a carry-on (DH and I always travel with it) you have to go through security and it can take some times.

I think it will cost you at least 50-60$ for a cab and it's a pretty long ride.

IMO, it's not worth the expense.

I'm still on the fence about paying extra... but I'm counting 2 hours because I won't have to get from Epcot to AKL (was planning about an hour for that to be safe)... So if my flight is at 6:30, I can leave Epcot at 4:30 (no checked bags and it's a Tuesday afternoon), instead of leaving at 2:30 to get back for a 3:30 DME.

I'm looking at the super shuttle website and the (private?) Execucar sedan option is $20, while the Super Shuttle van is $23 from Beach Club... that seems a little weird to me!
