Hi Everyone

I originally booked at ASM with FD for Sept. 2011. Since our booking my wife & I have been talking with a friend that has gone several times. After talking with him we have changed our minds & would like to stay at the BC using the room discount(35%) & add the dining plan(says that I can save 20% on meal plan) with out any park tickets, I would go through Mouse Saver to get the park tickets(saves a bit of money)? But when I try to price out the room discount online it will not give me the option to purchase a meal plan unless I purchase at least one day park ticket. Is there another way around this, our do I need to phone a CM. I know I need to phone to cancel my original trip but was just trying to figure out the cost first.

Thanks for letting me ramble on.

I don't think you can get the dining plan without tickets, unless it's with an AP.

That is correct; unless you are staying DVC or have an AP, you must book a package and purchase at least a one-day ticket (two days if it is free dining).

You can always NOT use the ticket and save it for future use - the sticky at the top of the Theme Parks boards tells you all about upgrading unused tickets.

That is what I had to do this year.

Last year, I went and did an all resorts trip and never used my ticket, so it is still good.

This year, I am going with a few friends and they all want the dining plan - when you book a package, everyone in the room has to be on the same package. We all purchased one-day tickets - I am going to save mine for my trip next year and they are going to upgrade their tickets when we get there to eight day park hopper passes.

I should add that when you booked free dining, it included a two-day ticket purchase requirement, so you would have been buying tickets through Disney.

It is one of the perks of booking through Disney.

Also, you can save about 20% on your dining plan, but you need to be savvy about your choice of dining and you need to have ADR's to get the restaurants you want, especially during a free dining period. Everyone else is trying to do the same thing - getting the best bang for your buck on table service dining.

The first year, I about broke even on the dining plan. Last year, I got more savvy and found more expensive places to eat to make it worth my while in the savings.

Thanks Missytara

So if I purchase the room discount, add a one day park ticket & the dining plan then purchase additional park tickets through mouse savers. Could I still use the 1 day park ticket first then use the additional park tickets that I purchased through mouse savers? Our is this frowned upon? I'am just trying to save a few dollars, which would be only spent while at WDW anyways.

Thanks Again
