Surprise... It's Someday!! A Dec 2010 PTR!!

I was going to try to post some more about our trip but I spent most of the day trying to get some work done on Gavin's Birthday party. His birthday is September 26...so hard to believe he will be 3 already. Not really sure where the time has gone but it has indeed gone.

We, Gavin and I, have decided that we are going to have a Toy Story themed birthday party. We are going to have it at a little park that has a pavilion and swings....that kind of thing. I am at a loss as to what kind of things to do that are Toy Story related. Most of the kids there will be pretty young...3-5 I would say. I know I want to do a pinata. That is about all I can come up with right now. If anyone has any ideas I would so grateful! I know this has nothing to do with my PTR but I really have to get a move on this! TIA!

He really is bright! It makes me sad to think about all the things has gone through, and continues to go through, but at least something good does come from it. At least its not all for nothing.

That must be a very popular day to be born. My SIL has the same birthday as Gavin. She also has another nephew (on her DHs side) that shares the 26th. Not to mention that when I taught I had a little boy, who is now in high school by the way, who has that birthday. I know this because he goes to our church and mentioned it today when I was talking about Gavin's birthday. So that makes 5 now with your niece! Nothing is as fun as the first birthday!

I think Gavin can be too smart sometimes! I have come to realize that even at this young age Gavin and Brenda share secrets and have figured out what not to share. In fact, sometimes they will share blame for something because they know I can't punish both! Too smart already! UGH!

I went today and order the Toy Story cake and picked up somethings from the party store. It was so much fun to go playing in the Disney stuff! Last years Birthday was Disney Cars! Gavin is a huge Cars and Toy Story fan. I am sure he is wishing in his little mind they would combine the 2 and make one movie... Could you just imagine?!?!

I think a Toy Story party is a great idea. you could play "hot potato" with Mr. Potoato Head. And how about "Pin the Tail on the Wiener Dog?" Oh...or "Put the Part in the Right Place" on Mr. Potato Head! It seems like the big thing at parties my DD goes to is to have some sort of craft. (She is a little older though). They could color placemats with TS characters. How about "Buzz, Buzz, Zurg?" (like duck, duck goose?) Decorations would be so fun! All the fun toys! They could wear 3-D glasses. What are you doing for the cake? I'm pretty sure I saw Toy Story party supplies at Walmart the other day. Have fun!

I am working on party stuff/ ideas tonight. Anything to get my mind off Brenda's appt tomorrow. I have to admit, I am nervous. I know in my heart that it has to be nothing... It just has to be.

Anyway, so I am working on finding party ideas for Gavin's party. Most all the kids will have at least one parent with them. I think we are going to make Hamm banks from little, fat, empty water bottles. We did them at VBS this year but not with the cute bottles. Just plain water bottles. Then I think we are going to play Pin the nose on Mr Potato Head. He is at least easy to draw. I bought a Buzz pinata. I am going to look on ebay for some Toy Story Tattoos. I would love to find a way to incorporate Woody into things. I got a bunch of party stuff from a local party store.

For food...I ordered the cake from Walmart but Gavin also wants a Dragon cake that we saw at one of the local grocery stores. I haven't ordered it yet, but I am going to see if they can't make it more like Rex. We are going to have typical pretzels and chips. I am gonna get some Toy Story Cheese its and Toy Story Gummies. Don't want to have a full meal. Had thought about maybe some Pizza...I don't know since the party is at 3. That is kinda between meals.

So that is Gavin's birthday party. If anyone wants to share ideas I am still listening...as I said I am just working on this tonight to keep my mind off things.
