Whew. What a relief I'm sure for all of you!!
Perhaps you could do a Woody themed board somehow? Or they kids could "lasso" something?Hello all! I know I ma the worst PTR writer ever. Things here have just been yucky and I haven't been in the mood to post much. Since I last posted...
Brenda got sick. Typical flu stuff. No biggie for her. Gavin has a weakened immune system from everything that he has going on with the Hirschsprung's issues. He woke up the following day with a full blown flu. We have been working both kids back to health. Brenda is a lot easier to get over things. Gavin is finally just getting to the cold part. He is snotty and yucky but is coming along. Gotta love this time of year.
On top of the flu Gavin has been having stomach pains. That is how he describes the difference in his tummy. When it is pains I know that means his issues are coming up. We are to go back to the surgeon a month from yesterday. We were to talk then about doing the surgery again that worked earlier in summer. I knew we would have to do at least 1 more before Disney.
I have been working hard at getting the plans for Gavin's 3rd birthday together. I think I have things well on their way. I have had more people let me know they were coming than I anticipated. That is good though. Every year we get to spend with Gavin deserves a HUGE celebration.
The last thing that has been taking my time lately is today... Jon had to go this morning to the oral surgeon and get all 4 wisdom teeth out. Poor guy is such a trouper but pretty miserable today. He is upstairs sleeping, which is why I figured I would hop on here and apologize for being MIA! I must admit, he was still loopy when we were driving home and what he was saying was funny.
I do have a question for my readers, if I still have any left. Right now I am just losing the Disney spirit. TBH I couldn't care less at this point if we got to go or not. I guess what I am wondering is, does anyone else get like this? I know I should be over the top happy to go but I am just in the ho-hums. Is this normal, and if you experience this sometimes, what gets you out of this mood? Thanks!

Sick kiddos are no fun! I'm sorry to hear you have been dealing with all of that.
:
It happens to us all but it won't last too long. I've found our weekly movie nights and taking a section at a time of our countdown calendar is a nice balance between keeping the magic going but not overloading.
Did I say that? I am so hoping that it will pass.
I told him not to eat the Chex mix and then the pork chops...but i'll leave that alone.
Gavin is a HUGE Cars and Toy Story fan. His favorite is Cars (last years party theme). He has been wanting those color changing cars but they have been sold out around here. Every time the commercial for them comes on he remind us all that he wants those. The cars have been sold out here FOREVER! A friend of mine text me that Target had the cars in...so the next morning that was our first stop. Gavin pretty much knew he was getting them so it really was no big deal that he was with us...there are other surprises for his birthday. So we go and they had 2 different ones... Lightening and Doc Hudson. I picked those up. Brenda asked to go to the littlest Pet Shop aisle. I said that was fine but if she decided she wanted any she would have to take the money out of her piggy bank. **Story break-- Each of the kids have a piggy bank. They have had them since they were babies. We put extra change in them all the time and also, now they can earn change for the piggies by doing simple chores around the house. We talked to them when they figured out they were going to Disney. The money was supposed to be deposited in to the savings for later in life. We left them know that just this once we would use the piggy money for sovies in Disney. Of course, we will be buying them things, but this money is for things that normally we would say no to. Jon and I have no say in how they spend that money (within reason). They have been saving and saving. They most likely will end up with around $100...Gavin less as Brenda tries to be a HUGE help. Break Over** Ok, so I told her if she wanted a Littlest Pet Shop set she could take them out of her piggy. We went over and looked and at first there were 2 sets that she wanted...and they were on sale for a little over $5 at Target. One set had a pony and the other had an armadillo. I told her that was fine but she would have to take the money from piggy when we got home. She thought about it a minute and told me that just getting one would be fine. She didn't want to take too much out of piggy. She knew 1 set cost her a little over $5. I said fine and she picked the Armadillo one and we moved on to the cleaning stuff that I needed. When we got to the front of the store I took a browse through some clothes because Brenda is needing so fall/ long sleeved things. Target tends to clearance things really early so I wanted to check it out and see if they had anything for Brenda. She starts Preschool on Monday (and yes, I am a bad mom...we are not done clothes shopping. I was waiting for somethings to get marked down). She only goes 2 hours a day/ 3 days a week. Its more to get her some time away from this CrAzY house. When I come back to Jon and the cart of kiddos Brenda tells me that she isn't getting any Littlest Pet Shop. Her exact words "Mommy, I am making a grown up decision and saving that money for Disney". Wow! I was shocked. I asked Jon if he had anything to do with it and he said no. She had been looking at the back of the pack. One minute she was telling Jon and Gavin how much she wanted some new Littlest Pet Shops... and the next she was telling Jon to please take it away, she wanted her Disney money more. But the story doesn't end there... it gets even better...
I know we have a strict budget right now and things are tight, but I would have bought her a 100 sets that day. We have a girls day coming up...need to finish picking up some school clothes and a pair of shoes. I am hoping that there will be a few dollars left to sneak a Littlest Pet Shop in. The other thing that Brenda will be so excited about is the new Tinkerbell movie comes out on Tuesday. I am hoping that we can find it on Redbox and take it out. She will LOVE it. She is a HUGE HUGE HUGE Tinkerbell fan. In fact, I should post a picture of her last year in her Tinkerbell costume. She thinks this year she is going to be Silvermist. So the award for the most giving daughter in this CrAzY family goes to Brenda!
... and yes, please do post that Tinkerbell pic!Tam, no need to apologize. Every day life takes priority over the DIS, and we certainly understand that you have your hands full. I hope both kids, and hubby too, are feeling better soon.
I get in the doldrums every once in awhile prior to a Disney trip. What I usually do is go and read a trip report from someone who has just gotten back (or even a PTR of someone getting ready), and it usually gets me in the spirit pretty quickly. I have to admit this trip I haven't had any doldrums, but that could be because my DH had two procedures done and we really need the trip. In fact, can't wait to be there in three days.![]()
Hey there, first off don't apologize for not posting, you have alot going on right now! Everyone understands. And I hope everyone in your family gets to feeling better soon and that if Gavin does go in for another surgey that it also goes well. My guess is your ho hum feelings are just becuase of everything going on right now, that is really alot for one person to deal with. And in all honesty the trip is still a ways off. I know we are all double digit dancing and such, but I just hung my 100 day countdown a few days back abd truthfully was a bit shocked by how many days we have to cover until we go! SO I bet the feeling will pass as everyone in your home starts to get to feeling better and your disney spirits will return. In the mean time know I am thinking of you and your family!![]()

Sick kiddos are no fun! I'm sorry to hear you have been dealing with all of that.
As for the Disney frump - yep! It happens. Planning a trip is a lot of stress, and when you have more stress on top of it, it just seems meh. We didn't have a trip planned, but I was in the midst of writing a TR when we had a million things going on with attempting to sell our house, wanting to move, and basically having ZERO money, I was stressed -and I just didn't have the energy or desire to write about happy fun stuff when this craziness was going on in my life.
I hope things calm down for you and just go back to your normal cRaZy.
Don't worry about the Disney slump! You've got so much other really important stuff on your mind right now....that kind of stuff tends to suck the joy out of things we normally enjoy. It will pass.
Don't even worry about it. We're still here and we all have times like that where reall life just takes priority.
It must be in the air too. I actually had the blahs this morning when I woke up. I have depostis down on the trip we MAY take in Dec. so that I can have the resort I want for the dates I want with free dining. I wil lcancel then if needed, when the time comes, but I was so close to just calling and canceling this morning. I just so blah and it's not that I don't want to go, I do more than anything, but I just seem to have alot on my mind and tired of not knowing for sure whats going to happen day by day here.
You all deserve this trip coming up, and you'll have a great time. Once it gets closer, you will be so excited and so will your kids. Sometimes when a household is sick, it can really get you down after a bit.

Hey there! Hope you and your family are all well:
Yes the Disney blahs can strike when you least expect it sometimes. It happens to us all but it won't last too long. I've found our weekly movie nights and taking a section at a time of our countdown calendar is a nice balance between keeping the magic going but not overloading.

). Gavin was so sick that he wasn't able to put on his costume. He still had fun off and on... usually after he rested in the stroller a bit.

Oh too cute! I loved it when the kids were all in their Halloween costumes and parading at school.![]()
Brenda had a great time at her school Halloween party. Her Preschool is inside a High School. Its one of the programs that allows the high school students to work with the small children. Really is a great program. So the kids all went door to door within the high school trick or treating! Every teacher gave them something and allowed them to come march around their room. Brenda came home with so much candy it wasn't even funny! Then once we picked her up it was off to Hershey...can you say Candy overload. Hershey does something very similar to Disney in that you trick or treat within the park. I am sure you can imagine how much candy you get at HERSHEY!
Brenda is so sweet, what a lovely story. You are raising two wonderfully loving and intelligent children, I hope Bill and I get to meet all of you!
