I have considered flipping blt a lot, I prefer to stay longer at poly and akv. Not going to do it yet but contemplating!I would personally keep one 150 point, two 75 point, or three 50 point contracts. That would be enough to give you membership extras. You could sell everything else and have access to whatever the perks are at the time.
Buying 160 points to even out BLT, AKV, and SSR sounds good right now, but what if you end up selling one of those? I would buy the number of points you need to secure that accommodation you want at PVB in the 7-11 month booking window. If that's 200 points maybe buy 150 and 50.
You've also mentioned UY preferences and even possibly retitling some contracts. If you dislike BLT maybe flip it and load up on PVB for the MK resort area. I forget which UY each of your contracts sit in, but this could save you time and money retitling.
I didn't know thatI’m guessing someone already mentioned it, but you can’t split up a fixed week.
Ugh blt is like the person that is not that bad looking, good on the inside, reliable, and you know you should like but is kind of a fuddy duddy and you just donti'm kind of late to the party but recently i decided to get 200 points direct (at CCV) and split it at 100 each (and to sell my BLT resale, sorry BLT buddy). Too much hassle trying to manage too many contracts. I wanted to balance the headache versus extremely unlikely scenario that i would sell this direct contract. I thought about 50/50/100 or even 75/75/50 but it didn't make sense for me as this will be the LAST contract i will get rid of if stuff hits the fan so money gained is probably minimal.
My reasoning for 200 points was that i needed to buy enough points to make the home booking period worthwhile and be able to book the whole trip as our family does NOT like split stays and transferring hotels.
I have a tendency to do thatthis post has been one heck of a rabbit hole for me![]()

I visited Riv and like poly betterJust read the whole thread and see you are still considering the contracts. If I am understanding your priority/reasoning for buying direct, it's primarily for Membership Extras, followed by you'd like to stay in PIT.
If that's the case, I wouldn't split up the contract. The only reason to split the contract is for reselling it later. If you want Membership Extras as the main focus, you'll have this contract the longest if/when you decide to sell. PIT will be long sold out by then and because of the points chart, people buying resale will need the points. At that time, unrestricted points might be a very rare thing to find on resale and in higher demand. Keep it simple for yourself. This is about your vacations, not some random person in futureworld.
I think it's a great idea to visit Riviera before you decide just in case you end up loving it.
You can split the contract though. So say you are buying 200 points total and your FW cost is 160 your 2nd contract will be 40 points.I didn't know that
What was meant by you cant split up a fw thenYou can split the contract though. So say you are buying 200 points total and your FW cost is 160 your 2nd contract will be 40 points.
If you buy only the FW and it’s 160 you can’t split it into 2 contracts of 80/80.What was meant by you cant split up a fw then
Ahhh got it! Thats for the 200 pointer I want and shouldnt getIf you buy only the FW and it’s 160 you can’t split it into 2 contracts of 80/80.
My direct I decided 150 then quickly went to 200. Signed contract for 200 with a delayed close and decided before closing to bump it to 300Ahhh got it! Thats for the 200 pointer I want and shouldnt get![]()
Me Asking the board for how to make more money if I ever need to sell and ends up buying 200 point contract that wasnt going to beforeMy direct I decided 150 then quickly went to 200. Signed contract for 200 with a delayed close and decided before closing to bump it to 300![]()
Agree with this, or I’d do something weird like 70+90.Why 160 and not 150? Have you considered if you want a FW? If no FW and you really want 160, Id go with a 100 and 60
70 90 sounds funAgree with this, or I’d do something weird like 70+90.
What was meant by you cant split up a fw then
Yea that. You have to keep however many points make up the FW together in one contract, but of course if you buy more you can split them off.If you buy only the FW and it’s 160 you can’t split it into 2 contracts of 80/80.
Are you sitting down? And I must have missed the reason for 160 instead of 150, or was it for a FW?
You’re the bestAre you sitting down?
I still like the idea of BLT, but owner priority at BLT has limited value for our family giving we want to book 1 bedroom after owning for a almost a year now and understanding the booking logic a bit. I'm sure i will book into BLT in the future no doubt but it's not our highest priority item for us.Ugh blt is like the person that is not that bad looking, good on the inside, reliable, and you know you should like but is kind of a fuddy duddy and you just dont
