Super Bowl 44 Predictions

Total yards for Drew Brees since joining the Saints:

2006: 4418
2007: 4423
2008: 5069
2009: 4388

The difference is the defense- & the mastermind that is Gregg Williams.

Let's look at Brees' numbers before the Saints

2002-3,284
2003-2,108
2004-3,159
2005-3,576

Peyton Manning has only had 2 seasons under 4,000 yards in 4 more seasons then Brees. Peyton is still the better QB

Peyton is the more EXPERIENCED quarterback. When looking at Brees' numbers, you have to keep in mind that in SD, Brees was QB under a much more conservative coach than he is now under Sean Payton. Also, his RB in SD was Tomlinson- Brees didn't have to throw as much bc his RB was so consistent.

Numbers do not tell the whole story. And, I truly believe Brees' name deserves to be up there when talking about the great QBs of all time.

Rivers has put up great numbers in SD with Tomlinson, he still averages 4,000 yards a season.

I don't think Brees is in the same category as Manning, or Farve, or Marino, or Aikman, or Brady, or Montana, or Unitas, or Namath, or Bradshaw, or Starr, or Staubach. At least not at this moment in time. Once again, come back in 10 years and we'll see how his career ended.

And if numbers don't tell the whole story then stop posting Manning and Brees' numbers for 2009.

Because Tomlinson is on his way out...Brees had him in his prime.

The numbers are being posted after you make ridiculous claims like Brees has had only one good season. The numbers I posted proved you wrong, which you obviously do not like :lmao:

The numbers do not predict the winner on Feb. 7- we'll have to wait until then to see which numbers hold up. If it's the Colts, I will be the first one on here to congratulate you- because that's how the classy New Orleans Saints fans roll....

Congratulate me:confused3 I'm not a Colts fan

And Phillip Rivers is a great QB on practicly the same team Brees wasn't great on.

And ok Brees has a had some great seasons since joining the Saints according to numbers, but looking at numbers before that he didn't have such great seasons. Also, you posted stats way before I said that. I just said that this afternoon and early this morning you compared the 2009 numbers.

And if you don't want to look at numbers, then Eli Manning should be in this discussion with Brees and Peyton Manning right now. Eli had his best season in 2009 with 3 rookie recievers. And, a lot of times the recievers dopped balls and failed to stay in bounds. If Eli had the same recievers Brees and Peyton does then I think he would have put up amazing numbers just as good as Brees.

Ok, I meant congratulate the Colts' fans...

Eli IS a great QB...he's proven that many times. The Saints' handling of the Giants this season shows how well they do when facing formidable QBs.

But Peyton is still better then Eli and I don't think the Saints will be able to hold him off. The Jets and Ravens both had better defenses then the Saints and Peyton destroyed them

Hey, it's all speculation at this point...we won't know until the face each other- so I guess we'll see. Now, I need to get off this computer and go get ready for my cruise- and hopefully decorate my door with Superbowl Champs signs!

I enjoy debating with you- I'm sure this thread will be revisited often in the next week.

Sad part is the media still doesn't respect him, even after the 2008 playoffs they don't give him the respect he deserves. As a Giants fan I have loved him since day one and I always knew he would win us a Super Bowl, but the new york media and fans really just gave up on him sometimes:sad2:

Really? Maybe it's because he's from here, but he is always spoken about with great respect. I was in WDW, at Ohana, for the Superbowl when he won and my husband and our friends were screaming like it was our team that won! I was so happy for Archie that BOTH of his sons had Superbowl rings.

Yeah, in New York I still hear a lot of giants fans baching him after the Giants lose. This year the newspapers were all over him because they said while he was having a great season he wasn't being enough of a leader and that's why the Giants missed the playoffs.

It doesn't seem like Eli will ever catch a break from the media. However, it does look like he handles it very well.

We enjoy watching Eli. Him winning the superbowl was the next best thing to the Colts being there. I liked watching him and Peyton together after the game.:goodvibes

I love watching Eli and Peyton together after one of them wins, they are really just two down to earth brothers.

I think he handles it so well because he's so shy and trys his hardest to stay out of the spotlight.

I am a NYG fan and the Giants were just not good enough this year. I really like Eli but I don't believe he is as good as his brother. He is better than most and good enough where he is right now. He is a team leader and does that well. I blame the coaches for the team not being ready for some of the games.

Peyton is and will probably always be better then Eli, but Eli is great in his own right and I don't believe he gets the respect he deserves sometimes.

The Giants had a rough season because of all the defensive injuries and the recievers being rookies or relatively new. I think once we get our defense healthy again and work with some of the recievers, we should have a good team for 2010. I think we'll make it back to the playoffs and who knows after that, I'm just hoping for the best:goodvibes

Here's hoping!!! My silly fantasy would be to see the Giants vs the Colts in a superbowl!

As Peyton's little brother, Eli will never receive the repect he deserves and in my opinion earned. I was thrilled when the Colts won in 06 and just as happy when Eli won the superbowl. This year, I am all about the Saints. Truthfully, whether they win or lose, I will be happy (but if they win, much happier) because of the joy they brought this season. I think that was evidence today by the massive parade of men wearing dresses to make good on the beloved Buddy D's promise that if the Saints ever made the superbowl, he would sport one. Also, the fact that there will be a celebratory parade the Tuesday following win or lose to give the fans a chance to say thank you.

As far as why it took an overtime field goal to win, after watching the game three times, in my opinion, Brees was not 100%. In fact, that was the worst offensive performance of the season. So, if the worst offensive performance still left us with a win. I wouldn't bank on the superbowl being worse than that one.
