Take them to get something cheap to eat & bowling or something. Tell him since he already got his present, you're going out to ? to celebrate his special day. If he has cheap taste, let him pick what to do. If the ice has hit by then, :confused3

Happy Birthday to your DS, btw!!! :cake:

Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2 I didn't know about it. (I don't watch the news. It's too depressing. :guilty: ) My hubby knew about it, but he forgot to tell me. After I mentioned it, he said our local news was reporting the moon would look pink. Not at my house. Did it look pink to anyone else?

I only saw the beginning, not the whole thing, but from our house the moon was a creepy reddish/brown for the eclipse. :confused3

Another dumb question, but what's pui?

Posting Under the Influence (i.e. someone's had a few adult beverages, so sit back and enjoy)

Me, Me, Me  [/B]

Easy Beef Stroganoff

1 lb good steak (sirloin or better) cut into 1 inch strips
1 pkg wide egg noodles
1/2 onion sliced
1/2 pkg sliced mushrooms
1 cup sour cream
1 can Campbells Cream of Mushroom WITH Roasted Garlic
2 tbsp ketchup
2 tsp worchestershire

Put the water on to boil the noodles first because by the time they are done, everything else will be ready.

Mix together the sour cream, soup, ketchup & worcehstershire in a bowl.

Heat a large deep skillet with a couple of tbsp of oil to medium heat. Add the steak and brown for a minute or two. Add the mushrooms and onions. Cook for a few minutes until steak is mostly done and the mushrooms and onions are softening. Add the sour cream/soup mixture and cook until bubbly. Serve over drained noodles.
Add a green salad and bread and you've got dinner.

Once they reach a certain age, you can explain the whole "cost vs. quantity" thing. You already got a very expensive game and system. If he needs something to unwrap at this point, I say visit the Dollar Store. :confused3

Dinner was in the oven, while I was posting. I made beef stew w/ cornbread, Mac's way. I cheated & used store bought beef stew. It was pretty good though. I'll be making more dishes the cornbread way. ::yes::

the first time i made food with cornbread was something i call tamale pie.
i used taco meat as the filler inside.

i was low on food but had hamburger meat in the freezer and plenty of cornbread. i did put tomatoe sauce mixture w/the meat so it wouldn't dry out.

everyone liked it.

left over meat cut up can be used in the cornbread also.

Good Luck and best wishes on your upcoming wedding/honeymoon!!!

Yes, every once in a while we have a pui from someone - some are hysterical, some are cryptic - but the fun part is you never know when its coming.....just sit back and enjoy when it does :thumbsup2

The moon was a reddish brown here too....we watched the whole thing (until it was fully covered) and it was just so eerie

to see the moon in that color.

Testing my new siggie!

Okay, that didn't work! :( How do I get one beside the other? I may have to delete the heart.

I totally understand. I always tell people to save on the wedding, & splurge on the honeymoon. The wedding only last a few hours, after all. The honeymoon memories last forever. :teeth: Okay, you're wedding memories will last forever too, but it's over so fast, it's like a whirlwind in your mind. The honeymoon is when you get to relax & begin enjoying your new life together. :lovestruc

Same here! I stood out there forever waiting for it to turn pink.
