"So you're looking for a laughing place, eh? We'll show you a laughing place!"

The "A laughing place?" line on Splash Mountain
My brother impersonating the ghost host at Haunted Mansion
Going to the BoardWalk Bakery and buying a treat
Visiting Downtown Disney (especially World of Disney)
Going to Crystal Palace
Screaming like a girl on Tower of Terror
Shopping at Magic Kingdom's Emporium

Resort: Bay Lake Tower's 10th floor elevator waiting area. For those who don't know, each floor has a different piece of art (mostly characters, but the 5th floor is the monorail) as you get off the elevator. The 10th floor's piece of art is Snow White. My wife and I bought into DVC (with BLT as our home) because of some money we got when my Dad passed away. Snow White was his favorite movie & character. On our first trip using DVC, we got placed on the 10th floor (we didn't know anything about the artwork) and when we got off the elevator, I broke down. It was like he was there with us. I recently took my sister down and though we weren't staying at BLT we went over and I showed her and told her the story, she too broke down. It's someplace I always plan on going, just for a quick smile.

Beautiful, so glad to hear that he is still there making the trip with you. It's the little things that others miss (because to them it is so insignificant), that can mean the world to you.

Great thread! The question posed made me stop, think, and remind myself why WDW is our family's Happy Place.

So here goes: Standing on Main Street at the end of a Magic Kingdom day watching Wishes with the whole family. A bit of waterworks everytime, of course the DW and DD get a chuckle out of that.

Magic Kingdom -

The mermaids in PoTC - Love that music too (got stuck there once and that song was in my mind all day :rotfl:).

Every Jungle Cruise joke

Tuna fish sandwich at CHH

Epcot -

The entrance music

The photo of the kid in the blueberries on LWTL

The CM's in WS - so many good memories there

DHS -

That first drop on ToT :scared1:

The whole different feel at night

The "talking" well

Animal Kingdom-

That morning safari ride - as fast as I can get there! Walking fast through the queue and how exciting it is just to be there

Africa - the Dawa bar and the authentic feel (not that I would know :rotfl:)

Oh my gosh I have so many....

-Riding the Magical Express to Disney (not to the airport, that's the sad bus)
-Going thought the Purple Gates
-Disney Transportation. Buses, Monorails, Boats: I love them all.
-Hearing the Area Music anywhere. I love it
-Magic Kingdom: The Final Scene in Splash Mountain, Wishes, "Let It Go" in Celebrate the Magic, Early Mornings on Main Street, The Main Street Electrical Parade, The Lobby of Philharmagic
-Epcot: The Land Pavilion, Mexico Pavilion, The Fountain of Nations, The Fire blowing out before Illuminations, hearing "Promise" when walking out of Epcot at night, Walking Into the Park and seeing Spaceship Eath
-Animal Kingdom: The Drop in Kali, Going Backwards in Everest, A Morning Safari
-Hollywood Studios: The Muppet Vision 3-D Pre-Show, The Queue of TSM, The Film in One Man's Dream, When Mickey appears in the opening of Fantasmic
-The Polynesian, The Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Riverside- My "happy place" resorts.

Looking over Main Street USA from the train station.

The Pirates of the Caribbean smell, there is just something about it I love.

Going into Spaceship Earth.

Just getting into any of the parks. It feels amazing.

Great thread. So many too choose from.

Magic Kingdom - The riverboat in Splash Mountain, the safety warning as you load in your Doom Buggy at Haunted Mansion and of course "We wants the redhead!"

Epcot - The projection of Earth in Space Mountain and the end of the American Experience (I cry every time)

Hollywood Studios - When the elevator doors open on Tower of Terror and you start moving forward. My sister and I had been on ToT several times, but one time we were in the front row and it was a completely different experience.

Animal Kingdom - Hearing the piped in music in Africa.

MK: Riding through the fog/rain curtain while being warned by Davy Jones.

Epcot: "Good luck, team. All of here at Mission Control are proud to be a part of this historic liftoff....of the first Mission to Mars." All of this while the com chat is going on and the X-2 starts vibrating...my favorite ride experience in any park!

Hollywood Studios: Listening to the banter between R2-D2 and C-3PO.

Animal Kingdom: Feeling the train lurch as the Yeti tears off a piece of the track...always makes me smile.

MK:

-Walking through the tunnel and seeing the attraction posters and hearing the Main Street music/train.

-The damp water smell coming off of PotC/Splash Mountain

-The faint sound of the lounge music in Cosmic Ray's

-The smell/vibe of the Confectionery. My mom's favorite place.

-Hearing the howl from the HM and seeing it for the first time. I swear the walk from the end of Fantasyland to Liberty Square gets longer everytime.

-Tomorrowland at night (I'm a big Sci Fi/Space nut)

-The ambiance of Frontierland at night.

EPCOT:

-Getting off the bus and seeing the sewer covers with the old Disney World logo on them (I know this is a lot of places but I first noticed it as a child in EPCOT)

-The waterfall/jumping water by Captain EO

HS:

-The artwork of the Coca Cola vending machines (30s era dancing girls) that are scattered before entering the park.

-The Hollywood music combined with passing the long spire with Mickey walking on the globe.

Man, in May I'm just going to MK and Epcot. Writing all this makes me want to go back to HS now!

General:

-Driving under the WDW sign when first entering the property

-The giant 3D/Effects billboards that would align the Florida highway when on your way to WDW. I haven't seen them the last time I was there. I remember Muppetvision and It's Tough to be a Bug the most.

-The smell that hits my face when entering an All Star resort (primarily where I stay). Can't describe it. It's like the pool and food court. I call it the "vacation smell".

-Seeing the WDW buses for the first time.

-When I first land and walk through Orlando airport and see the kids/parents with WDW bags and dolls. That's when I realize how close I am.

-Seeing Mickey Mouse for the first time.

The sound of the waterfalls in front of the Poly when you first arrive

"yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me" and "we want the redhead!"

Walking throught the tunnel onto Main Street the first time of each trip=tear up

Walking out of the airport terminal when you arrive and that warm Florida air hits you and you see the first palm tree...heaven to a New Englander!!!

EPCOT WS at night..the whole thing..just love it

 I just love it all!!!

"Por favor manténganse alejado de las puertas"

:thumbsup2

I also smile every time I hear "Permanecer sentados por favor" but my absolute favorite is from DCA:

"Not ready? too bad, head back, face forward, and hold on like you mean it. 5 4 3 2 1 GO!!"

Puts a smile on my face just thinking about it!

I agree with so many people here...a couple of my favorites

MK - When Peter Pan says "here we goooo!" on Peter Pan's Flight and I mean...of course....Wishes.

Epcot - toughie - I mean I LOVE hearing the Soarin music for sure but there is also something to be said for singing along to "One Little Spark"

DHS - I love the movie montage at the end of the Great Movie ride (though it could use a little updating) and I also love the moment right before the drop in TOT, when the doors open. That whole ride just makes me happy.

AK - While I really enjoy how excited my youngest gets at seeing the poop in the queue for Everest, the "Big Blue World" number in Nemo always makes me smile.

Some others -

Watching my kids make a wish before inserting the hearts into the Build-A-Dino in DTD.

The first time we turn on Stacey on our TV in the room.

Wherever it may be I spot my first Mickey waffle.

And I REALLY love each morning, getting up before the wife and kids to walk down to the food court and get hot chocolate and coffee for them to start our day. My oldest has started joining in on some of these treks on recent trips, which makes it even more fun. There is something about walking through a quiet Disney resort knowing what lies ahead for the day. No work, no school...just fun.

So hard to pick just a few....

Sitting poolside at any of the resorts we have stayed at with a Pina Colava in hand just minutes after we check in. Ahh, there is nothing, NOTHING, like the first few moments of vacation!

Ohana's- One of my favorite moments of each and every trip is our first night dinner at Ohana. I get giddy just thinking about it.

MK- TTA! There is just something about taking a few minutes to relax while riding the "blue train" around Tomorrowland. It's just pure Disney to me.

MK- This isn't my favorite attraction by a long shot, but for some odd reason every time I am watching Mickey's Philharmagic I am overcome with a feeling that "I can't believe I am in Disney again".

Epcot- Sitting in the sun watching "my" fountain dance to the music.

DHS- Porbably my favorite spot is sitting in the Writer's Shop next to Sci Fi with a carrot cake and cream cheese cookie looking at the books for sale. It's such an out of the way place to cool off on a warm day.

AK- FOTLK. I love this show. After all these years it doesn't get old to me.

A ride on the monorail.

And probably one of my favorites has to be Wishes. I still get teary eyed every time I watch it.

There is something about walking through a quiet Disney resort knowing what lies ahead for the day. No work, no school...just fun.

I love this! Which reminds me of another. When staying at WL we love when our room opens up onto the lobby. While it can be busy at times, it is so tranquil and relaxing late at night. DH and I love to find each a rocking chair outside our room and just sit and listen to the quietness of the lodge when everyone has gone for the day. Just the music playing, and the beauty of the lobby is an amazing way to end a day in Disney.

Not really a certain thing or place but I love the random people you meet. On my last trip I was touring solo for the day and on my way to HS via a friendship boat from Epcot. Met the nicest couple. It was my last day and their first so they were trying to get the low down on FP+. The man reminded me so much of my fave uncle who passed away 10 years ago that I almost asked him for a hug. The night before I met a lovely family at the MVMCP parade. I talked to the mom dad and 4 year old daughter during the parade. At the end the little girl wanted to give me a.hug goodbye. So sweet. I just love the random folks that cross your path.

One night, my daughter and I got to be the last people on the Haunted Mansion ride. Playing in the empty queue, and riding through the quiet mansion with a cast member was awesome.

Our first view of the castle.

My food allergic little girl ate her way through the park. The look on her face every time we got her a Whip was priceless.

I played with green army men at HS.

Meeting Push, and lending her/him my Jack Skelllington ears? Priceless.

I love that spot when you just enter Liberty Square.

How could I forget? Walking in to Epcot for an ADR at Akershus before the park opened. Epcot isn't my favorite park, but walking through there before opening, while it is empty was magical. I just soaked it all in. No words.

Oh, OP!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for starting this thread! We are 3 months and 3 days away from our summer WDW trip and this thread makes me want to leave tonight!
So many things I could list, but here are a few:

*That wonderful smell when you walk into the gift shop at POP and smell the food wafting in from the food court!
*The bus rides... oh how I love to step on that bus and see all the children with excitement on their faces!
*The water smell at Splash Mtn
*Waiting inside the cool, dark "tree trunk" and listening the insects "sing" while in queue for ITTBAB.
*The movie clips at the end of TGMR
*The moment I see the Castle
*When I enter Epcot, hear the music as I see Spaceship Earth _ I cry every time. And then I am like a child, almost running to it to ride.

I guess everything about Disney is my laughing/happy place, but these that I have named are the things that are most special to me.:cloud9:
