"So you're looking for a laughing place, eh? We'll show you a laughing place!"

Let's try a positive thread today. I'm sure that we all have that one special place in the parks that just gives us the warm fuzzies. What's your's? Do you have one for each park or just for one special park? Do you have one at the resorts, water parks, Downtown Disney, etc? Let's hear 'em!

Hands down, no need to think. At the outdoor seating area at the Boardwalk take out pizza place. Sitting there with a slice or two of the pie. a wine at hand, listening to the boats, watching people and just having the "moment" when nothing else in the world means a darn thing.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for starting a happy thread!!!! So many of us are buried in snow right now, we need happy Disney thoughts to get us through!

My warm fuzzes are:

MK: oh my gosh, the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show. I cry when I see it live, I cry when I play it in the car!!!! I just love standing out in the warm sun, knowing a truly magical day is about to begin. Then...usually about when we're passing Casey's on the way to Peter Pan..the overhead starts singing "Zip A Dee Doo Dah..." and the announcer is asking us to walk to our next destination. Love it.

EP: The Fountain of Nations, and the Innoventions area in general. The music there is just amazing. I also love Patrick on the pre-Soarin video.

DHS: during Fantasmic, when the boats start coming out.

AK: when the 'bird' flies during FOTLK...she gets me every time.

Last week, during the east coast snow storm, I was at Cape Canaveral. The weather hits, my flight is cancelled, and I'm going to miss spending Valentines day with my family. So I packed my bags and drove to Disney. It was too late to justify spending the money for a ticket, so I went and rode the monorail around and got off at all the resorts. I topped it off having a Dole Whip on the beach at the Poly as they lit up the castle. It was amazing how much happier I felt after that. Not normally a happy place on our usual over planned Disney trips, but it worked great last week.

I'm just a sucker for hydroponically grown cucumbers and pumpkins.

Staring into the dark at Space Mountain to see the luminescent panels on the sides of the cars whoosh by.

The African street scene -- so authentic, you've got the tangle of overhead power lines (and all the utilities are actually underground!).

The haunting sounds of 1930's music echoing through the halls of the Hollywood Tower Hotel.

Great thread! I agree with all of the above, especially the first glance of Main Street in the morning. Peter Pan ride is one of my favorites because I had the book when I was a child.

My adult daughter and I took a girls trip in December. I told her that someday I'm going to find a rocking chair in Frontierland and actually watch the electric parade. We rode BTMRR three (or four?) times in a row late one night, and as we were heading to another ride and the parade was going by, my daughter pointed out two empty rocking chairs on the porch. Done!

The night we arrived, we went to the resorts to see the decorations and sat on the beach at the Poly to watch the parade. We also sat on the curb and watched the Osborne Family Lights one night.

I've had great trips to WDW, and this one was very special from start to finish.

THE SMELL OF SPLASH MOUNTAIN.

And I thought it was just me :rotfl2:
Also love BTMRR, Pirates and Jungle Cruise...and just walking down Main St

At Epcot I love the Soarin queue, the lighting, music and also Living with the Land

At HS it's definitely the ToT queue...everything about it :thumbsup2

And I love the queue at Everest, also Kali River Rapids

MK:
Riding the train - I love trains. :)
The Haunted Mansion
CHH tuna sandwich

Epcot:
Norway (preferably without a long queue blocking the area, maybe someday)
Morocco
Mexico
Spaceship Earth Egyptian scene

DHS:
Star Tours!
Sweet 'Ums
Streetmosphere

AK:
Maharajah Jungle Trek
FOTLK

Anywhere:
First bite of a Mickey bar

Oh, yeah, positive thoughts.

MK: Anything Space Mountain. It's one of the things I remember going on with my Dad during the only trip my family took when I was young (8).

Epcot: The first sight of Spaceship Earth. We didn't get to go to EPCOT that trip and it was always a dream for me to go and now whenever I see it, it's like my childhood dream coming true .

HS: Animation Studio. I suck at art. I failed it in 6th grade for a marking period, and never got better than a C in any art class. That said, every time I've come out of there, whatever character that was drawn is at least recognizable on my paper. It always brings a smile to my face.

AK: Meeting different CMs from Africa & Asia, especially places where my wife and I have been. It's always a pleasant conversation and reminds me that sometimes it's about the people you meet, not the experience.

Resort: Bay Lake Tower's 10th floor elevator waiting area. For those who don't know, each floor has a different piece of art (mostly characters, but the 5th floor is the monorail) as you get off the elevator. The 10th floor's piece of art is Snow White. My wife and I bought into DVC (with BLT as our home) because of some money we got when my Dad passed away. Snow White was his favorite movie & character. On our first trip using DVC, we got placed on the 10th floor (we didn't know anything about the artwork) and when we got off the elevator, I broke down. It was like he was there with us. I recently took my sister down and though we weren't staying at BLT we went over and I showed her and told her the story, she too broke down. It's someplace I always plan on going, just for a quick smile.

My biggest warm fuzzy is visiting Christmas week. Yes its crazy. Yes you don't get to "do everything". Yes it can be cold. But growing up without extended family, my mom packed my sister and I up every. single. Christmas. and we went to Disney. Now that I'm an adult, its not truly Christmas without visiting the parks.

The rest of the year= Wishes, viewing Disney through the eyes of a child (or a first timer) and I my biggest warm fuzzy of the "non-Christmas Season" is finding a bench, sitting down and watching how every single person is accepted and can enjoy themselves. I'm a pediatric nurse with a true soft spot for children with disabilities, and I tear up every time I see a child who may have difficulty fitting in at other public venues greeted by CM the same a *normal* child is. I love watching their eyes light up at the sights, the sounds and the rides. And I love watching the parents who are really present in the moment and not worried about what attraction to run to next. The look in their eyes watching their children is such an amazing sight!

We always go to 50's Prime Time Café for lunch at Hollywood Studios. If we get a great server, we end up laughing so much we can't eat all our food.

When I am by myself, I always go the France pavilion at Epcot and sit in the little courtyard behind the perfume shop, just listening to the music, looking at the beautiful décor and gardens, and watching the happy people. Oh, while I am munching on a French pastry or crème brulee, of course.:wave2:

What a great thread! I hope this one goes on for many, many pages.

Well of course, passing under the WDW sign gets me all giddy.

In MK I love the Space Mountain cue. The music just transports me every time. Flying over London in PP reminds me of visiting with my parents as a kid.

In Epcot, as others have said, I like the preshow video for Soarin'. It reminds me of classic Epcot.

I know that some people have said that the "radio station" wasn't played on Kilimanjaro Safaris when they went, but it was during Thanksgiving for us and it just makes me smile.

We most recently stayed at YC, but all of our previous trips have been at Riverside and I love the music on the busses as you pull back into the resort. I guess most of mine are audio rather than visual happy places! :goodvibes

I am so glad to see a positive thread, thank you OP :goodvibes. Here are my laughing places, there are probably more but these are my most favorites :goodvibes

- Main Street USA, doesn't matter where just as long as I am sitting down on a bench listening to the music with an ice cream come from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and people watching, and if I am lucky, getting to have a conversation with the Mayor (I just love that guy).
- The queue in Space Mountain, I just love the space music as you are walking through, if I could I would stand there all day and just listen to it but I would have lots of angry people (including my family) behind me :goodvibes.
- The American Adventure show, I just love the song throughout the show and the ending always puts a tear in my eye, I can be quite patriotic at times :rotfl:.
- Sitting out on my balcony early in the morning with my coffee in hand just watching the "world" wake up while the rest of my family is still sleeping. I am normally not a morning person and hate getting up early, but when I am at Disney I have no problems doing it.
- As I am entering into the gates of Epcot heading towards SSE and listening to the main gate music, I just love that music it is one of my favorites.
- Riding TTA, my favorite part of the whole ride is going through Space Mountain and listening to all the fun screams of the riders above.
- Getting off of ME and seeing those guests who are waiting to get onto ME to take them back to the airport....I feel really sorry for them because their vacation is over, but am very thankful that I am not waiting with them, but rather heading into the resort to check in. Now when our vacation is over and we have to wait in that line, that is definitely NOT my laughing place!
- Watching the band in the U.K. pavilion play while having a Bass Ale in my hand. My kids often look at DH and I like we have 2 heads because we like to let loose and sing and dance to the old songs that they never heard of before.
- Being able to wonder around all of WS and being able to shop peacefully on my own while DH and both our kids go off and play Agent P Missions.

As for my DH's happy place...sitting and watching the fountain in WS, he loves everything about it and would sit there all day if the rest of us would allow him to :goodvibes.

MK RD show
Chocolate shake from the Plaza
Tomorrowland at night
PhilharMagic, especially the Aladdin scene
the Blackbeard fog effect in PotC (but it was better as Davy Jones)
World Showcase at night
the mask shop in Italy
Voices of Liberty
British Revolution
taking a break in the RnR courtyard
Mulch, Sweat and Shears, especially the Dreams or 80's medleys
a Hoth/Naboo Star Tours ride
FoLK - all of it
Finding Nemo - Go With the Flow
walking the Jungle Trek early in the morning
I once saw a handler examining the ring tail lemurs and I was enthralled for a solid 20 minutes
the beginning and ending of Wishes
the Poly lobby while waiting for my Kona ADR

Walking through the tunnel after reading "Here you leave today and enter the World of Yesterday, Tomorrow and Fantasy", whether it's MK or DL as soon as I walk through that tunnel I become a kid again and all my troubles disappear. I love that plaque!

I get the same feeling walking into the other parks but there is just something special and surreal about walking through that tunnel, on one side is reality and on the other side is fantasy and I love that.

I suppose I have 2 laughing places.

One is sittting in the last row of BTMR and watching the people duck when they think they are going to hit their heads on the overhead arch. Makes me laugh every time.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned my second laughing place, It is kali river rapids , when the raft swirls around and you just know it is the people on the other side of the raft that will get drenched. Then at the last second, it turns more and I am in the wet seat.

When I hear "Albert Awol" voice of the Jungle Cruise

Also the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge. :thumbsup2 and the entire Polynesian Hotel.

The thing that gets me every time is the music for WISHES. Guaranteed there will be a tear in my eyes when they insert the quotes from Peter Pan, Genie, etc. Brings back so many memories of when my boys were young, and that if you dream it, you can make it happen.

This is followed very closely by the music for Illuminations. All the flourishes, the drama, the energy!

Then there is the music you hear everywhere in the park during the day - it all points to warm and fuzzy for me!!

Both of these absolutely!

When my kids want to get me....they start singing "Starlight, Starbright..." and I am a pile of mush! :upsidedow
